The Café
We got sleet and freezing rain. Not really much snow. The ice is so thick in places it makes it impossible for the grater tractor thingy to clear it. Most of our road is done but we have some ice patches. Not safe for the buses though.
Ugh! That can be even worse than snow. We had a mix of rain/sleet/rain one day a few weeks back and it was horrible. Turned every surface into a skating rink.
I kinda miss snow... but I was 11 when I moved south, so I *liked* the snow days and never had to shovel.
We finally thawed out of our snow/ice storm and are a nice 73 today! Its going to be 40 tomorrow though so back to the jackets!Gotta love Missouri weather in March!
Yeah, gotta love Wisconsin this time of year, too. 52F Monday, 41 today, down to 25 again Wednesday. Plus -- light rain/drizzle right now, changing to snow later. :-\
Every group I'm in is talking about the weather, that's how nuts it is this year! We are supposed to get 15 cm of snow tomorrow-after spring like temps today! Go figure!
No snow in Phoenix! However, when I used to live in Canada, it was the road conditions more than the coldness that was really the menace.
We have a therapy pool at our Community Center so it's warm in the water. A group of us meet about noon and stay for 2 hours. We try to keep moving by walking and jumping and whatever creative exercises we come up with.
Jewels~♌ wrote: "I like winter too but I say enough is enough. Just done with it this year. I want a beach !"I agree. What really makes winter a cozy season is the warm fireplace inside after the cold... or a cotton knit scarf... or a thick down jacket; So in the end - it's whats inside that counts... Stay warm! :)
Heather L wrote: "I liked that one in Argentina, the one that was a former theater. Wow! Talk about ornate!"Yes, that one is gorgeous! I like the one that is the largest outdoor bookstore in the world in Ojai, California. I could probably get to that one. LOL!
I'd think I'd died and gone to heaven with the NY one that is 18 miles of books!! What a stroll!
Pamela(AllHoney) wrote: "Nice! Nope never been to any of them but ready to go ☺"Let's get our hats and go. ☺
It's a gorgeous day here today! But I'm having trouble staying awake! GAH! I laid down to read, and couldn't keep my eyes open!Speaking of "laid"... didn't we used to use "layed" at one time...?
Pamela(AllHoney) wrote: "I don't remember layed but I remember layered. lol"Hmm.. and I don't remember layedered... guess we're good!
My daughter is going through her first heartbreak. She is 11 and her first "boyfriend" has broken up with her and asked one of her friends out. So tonight she cried a little, ate ice cream, unfriended him on Facebook and is now planning a sleepover with her BFFs on Friday night to watch girly movies and trash boys.
I think she's got this girl thing down and is going to be just fine.
(momma bear still isn't very happy with this little boy for making her baby cry but I to will survive this!)
Oh, Melissa! I remember those days. My girls are 33 and 23, so those days are long past, but I remember that heartbreak is as hard on mommy as it is on them!
I have sons and I feel their pain when their girlfriends break up with them. Melissa at 11 she has so many more to go through
I don't have any kids but I wrote and self-published 9 short stories and poems about high school romance...
My son is 17 and we've been through a few broken hearts with him to. His never seem to include ice cream and chocolate though.
Awwww, Melissa. Tell her GIRL POWER!...although the unfriended on Facebook kinda made me laugh. I'm actually friends with my exes on Facebook. Of course, Facebook didn't exist when we were dating.
I am friends with my exes as well but I guess being unfriended on facebook means a lot to these "young uns". She is bouncing back to being herself pretty quickly, my house is full of little girls tonight painting toenails.

We've had snow every day since Friday, but only a couple inches at a time. Nuisance snow--you no sooner finish shoveling and have to do it again. Still falling this morning. Light, but consistent.
