Wow, I won that one book Fairies gone wild from someone's website recently (see msg 97) and now I've won another Wicked Intentions by Elizabeth Hoyt from the GR's giveaways. I am soooooooooo excited!

Congrats, Pamela! I didn't realize EH had a giveaway for her new book or I would have entered. I love her work.:-)Since the RRRC group started their "Ask an Author, Win a Book" forum, I've won two of the books offered which was quite exciting since I rarely win anything. They both look really good. Now I just need to find time to read them.

They had 15 winners in the EH giveaway. I wander over there and enter a bunch every now and then. I really love EH and would have bought that one eventually anyway so its a bonus that it's one I really wanted to read.
Hello, everyone. Just thought I'd pop in and see if anyone is out there :)Have a wonderful day. It's going to be another scorcher here today.
Taking my husband to the airport in a bit. He's headed to New Orleans for business. When he returns on Thursday we're off to deliver our daughter to Texas Tech to check into her dorm room...it's a long drive from Houston to Lubbock!!Heat here is scorching, too!

My dearest daughter will be returning to school this week. We went to open house and she likes her teacher. Her teacher has a ferret which should endear her to many.
Pamela, No complaints, now. I just dropped my baby girl off at college and I wish she was home sick 'cause I miss her already!!
Melanie, I still remember when my Mom dropped me at College- she cried when she left me and told me much later that she cried all the way home (3 hours). Now I have a 16 year old and although I have 2 years to go, I can sympathize!

I call it the annual back-to-school bug. My daughter gets it every year and was home all last week with it. Ugh! I think the kids are technically not supposed to miss any more than 10 days of school the whole year, and she already used up half of it in the first two weeks of school.:-(
Well, she's getting some of her energy back already so maybe it was just some 24 hr thingy. She hasn't ran a fever at all so...

My baby seems to be fine... Griping and complaining about being bored. She is well....Back to school tomorrow :)
Finally got us some rain. Hubby will be out mowing the grass tomorrow. hahaThe grass was brown and crunchy. It looks greener already.
Daughter wanting to get into band and cheerleading this year. She did cheerleading last year and I got all kinds of compliments telling me she's a natural. Band is a new thing and I'm concerned about that. She wants to try the trumpet. Maybe she'll surprise me and take right to it.
My daughter found band to be an amazing experience. She made a wonderful group of friends that she has stayed close with thru middle and high school. She did gymnastics from age 3 to 11, but had to quit after a broken ankle (injury unrelated to gymnastics, believe it or not!)
Marching band in our high school proved to be a wonderful opportunity for her. Go Band!
I hope my daughter loves it but she doesn't have a lot of staying power. But I want her to try whatever she wants to find out what she does like. I didn't get to do anything back in my school days but I want her to have the opportunities I didn't have. I just don't want to be one of those mothers who push their children into stuff they really don't want to do.
Hey, we tried violin, piano, and soccer before she found band and lacrosse. It's good to let them try different things =)
Happy Labor Day, everyone! Not doing much here but we do have a few T-bones marinating for the grill later.
I'm in a romantic suspense mood lately. I can't seem to get into anything else. It seems I go through phases where I can only read a certain genre for a while and right now it R/S. Does anyone else have this problem?
That does happen to be, too. Pamela. In the words of my favorite OCD tv hero, Mr. Monk, it's a blessing, and a curse. LOL It's a blessing because it helps me clear off my TBR pile, but a curse because I run out of things to read and end up buying more to feed my need.
Actually, I'm just the opposite. I can't read more than a couple of books in a row in the same genre, time period, or by the same author without getting bored and needing to mix it up.:-)
Julie, I actually went through about a 2-3 week period recently where I did exactly that. I wouldn't allow myself to read more than 1 book per genre back to back. It helped me clear the cobwebs and I was able to get my backlog of reviews caught up to.So, I guess I'm a little of both.
I am filled with joy that all the Chilean miners were rescued sucessfully. My continued prayers for the rescue workers that need to come back up.
My family left me :(I laid down earlier and hubby left with daughter to take her friends home. So I got up and started dinner 'cause they wouldn't be long. Its been almost 2 hrs and dinner is ready. Where is my family? I know its nothing. Hubby probably took daughter to town for ice cream or something but dinner is ready and no one here to eat it. :(
haha, just hamburger helper and brussell sprouts :)I found em. They are still over daughter's friend's house.
