Lisa, did you watch it? I actually bought the DVD I loved it so much.Melissa, I'm jealous. There's no more room for bookshelves in my house.
I enjoyed How to Train Your Dragon, bought it on DVD not that long ago. I asked for Brave for Christmas, I hope I get it! I wanted to see that one in theaters so bad, but it never happened. My little one's too small for movie theaters yet.
I was really happy to see my daughter put Brave down on her Christmas list! Now I can watch it whenever I want!

Want to see Rise of the Guardians...thought it has had some complaints about being too dark for the holidays...still...maybe I'll sneak it in before Christmas.

The Casual Vacancy was depressing as in bad or just kinda a depressing book because of what its about?
Melissa: I thought it was a good book, but some of the content is pretty depressing. It was a little slow-going in the beginning, mostly due to trying to keep all the characters straight, but I had difficulty putting it down closer to the end.

I think I'll check the library. I'm so glad my town has one now so I can check out books rather than have to buy them all the time like I used to!

Rowling writes beautifully, and she had a way with bringing characters to life. But, it is a very sad book. Beyond sad, really. Depressing.
I used a gift card to get both the book and the audio because I was in a group read and wanted to be able to write the Discussion Questions. Live and learn.
I do want to say that it might make a difference to someone who hasn't read a lot of that stuff, but as a nurse, I've heard all that horrible, depressing stuff before. There were about eight marriages, I think. Not a happy one in the whole town, rich or poor. Almost all the people were mean and nasty and backstabbing to one another. I think I know what Ms. Rowling was trying to say in this social commentary, but I don't think all marriages are like that.
Ha, Lisa Kay, I KNOW all marriages are not like that. As I said to my daughter the other day not that marriage is perfect all the time but when it works there is nothing better.
His name is Houdini because he did a disappearing act the first day we got him. It was gone for hours and we still don't know where he was hiding. lol
Yeah, they do that sometimes. My cat I had for 17 years hid in my husband's closet for hours and wouldn't come out.

Thanks! Feeling slightly better but still under the weather. And yes, kitty wants to play! I guess he didn't get the memo that I was sick. lol
I have two kids who are trying real hard to convice Mom they are to sick for school today. Hmmm... one has a "cough" and the other has a "tummy ache".
They are out for Christmas break in 3 days!
Mine is congestion and cough and fever and massive headache. Hubby had it first and sad thing is - he rarely ever gets sick.
I'm trying to get over this! I know what you mean. When my daughter claims to get sick I'm not always convinced. She has fooled me before. Makes it hard to trust her now.
My kids are allowed so many "I just need the day off" days from school every year so it irks me when they lie about not feeling well to take a day off. She's already used her days for this sememster so she thought if she wasn't feeling well she could sleep in because she knew I had a Dr appt that morning.
Thanks, everyone! Feeling a little better today. I don't think I have a fever now. Still congested, though.
