Yeah, I had it in high-school for awhile. I'm always conscious of it if my jaw ever aches, as I remember how painful it was. The doctor did some weird treatment with dark mustard looking gunk and a circular massage thing-a-ma-gig. Sorry you are having that pain, Pamela.
I just read that Neil Armstrong, first man on the moon, has passed at age 82. Right after I saw this news, REM's "It's the End of the World as We Know It" came on the radio station I have on. Talk about coincidence--it made me want to cry...
At the beginning of the year I told myself that I was going to clean out my bookshelves and get rid of books. I got rid of books then and now I need another bookshelf! Somehow that plan backfired on me! lol
Melissa: I hear that, LOL. I have donated books throughout the year to the library's used book sale, and even have another two boxes for them now, but that only means I have more room for new books. It doesn't help that the library's used book sale is this weekend and Half Price Books has a 20% off everything Labor Day weekend sale. *g*
lol, I was just thinking I need to go through my massive TBR pile and slim it out some. Donate what I won't read or something.
Every time I thin mine out I wanna read the books I got rid of. ☺ Computer is slow these days. I think its on its last leg. So I may not be able to gab much until I get another one :(
My ex passes away in March and he left his old college textbooks here. I'm remodeling and came across them. I just CANNOT throw them out. What is wrong with me? I need professional help. LOL!
My girl-friend had a great idea. Put stuff on a special shelf in the garage, give myself a time-limit, and if I still haven't touch the item by then, get rid of it!
Good Idea Lisa Kay! I use those guidelines on stuff in my house. I don't have a lot of storage space so I have to be careful of what I keep.
Gasp! No way! I need a yard sale and I hate organizing them. I'm probably gonna haul stuff to one of the thrift stores in town.
I've given a ton of stuff away... How can two people collect so much crap? But I have some nice things I need to sell. I should take a picture of all my boxed up books and post it here. Approximately a box for every letter of the alphabet! Insane.
Marilyn wrote: "Notice: All internet sales will be taxed in California starting September 15, 2012."Really?
In Australia, we have a goods and services tax of 10% on everything, even internet purchases. However of course if you buy goods on the internet from overseas we are not taxed. It is causing a problem for Australian retailers especially in things like books and fashion items as heaps of people (me included) are saving at least 10% by buying this way.
Technically, anytime you buy something online or by phone/mail you are supposed to pay state taxes for it. If you are not charged at time of purchase, then you are supposed to pay it when you pay taxes each spring. The problem is that many people do not do so. Which is why some states are now trying to change when and how tax collection is done.
Lol I love having yard sales! Me and my crap get together with my grandparents and their crap, and my mom and her crap, and we do a weekend or two during the summer, usually one in June, and again in August, then whatever's left my grandma takes to the county donation center. She won't donate to Goodwill because she says the employees pick through and take all the good stuff that's donated instead of putting it out like it's supposed to be. Lol. :D
I've lost out on bunches of money because I hate to set up a yardsale. Most of my stuff gets donated and most the time I don't get receipts so they aren't added on my taxes.
I had a yard sale recently because I had so much STUFF that organizing it for donations was daunting! After we sold about half of it, I could fit the rest into my car. :)
lol been there. We did a yard sale a few years ago. Ok, it was more than just a few, maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Everything that didn't sale got thrown into the garage and then stuff got taken to a place in town a little at a time. And I still have a full house! What happened? Where did all this stuff come from?
I just give my giveaway stuff to my stepson. he has a perpetual yard sale/flea market going at his house so I don't have to worry about organizing one.
Yea, the step-son and my brother too both use craigslist a lot, but it's not me. I don't want some stranger calling me up, and have to arrange a day and time to meet to see the goods, etc. A yard sale, I just pop down in a chair with a book and a beverage, and watch the people come and go, shopping through my stuff. It just makes me grin. I don't really know why, but I love seeing people come by and pick something and leave again. But not so much when it's arranged over the phone, and more one on one. Maybe it's because I hate talking on the phone. With a passion! Ugh, I have a hard time even calling to order a pizza, it kills me. Lol :)
lol, sounds familiar, Kit. I don't do well on phones myself. They are necessary at times but I don't like being on them. When hubby was overseas and would call, I could never say much so those calls lasted maybe a minute or two. I have a few friends I'll call once in a while and I dread it cause they can talk and I don't. lol
I don't hate talking on the phone, but I have to watch myself as I tend to be either more free with things I say on the phone, or completly distracted and then forgetting I'm supposed to be answering the caller! I love texting just for that reason, I ask what I need to know and get an answer without having to worry about chit chatting when I'm not in the mood for chit chat.
I wish I could be more comfortable on the phone, Melissa, but I'm not. I've always had a hard time talking to people except for close friends and family and even then I'm not a talker. Texting is ok, I guess. I only text my hubby and my daughter though ☺
I'm the same way, Pamela! I hate talking on the phone, especially with people I don't know, or do not know well. I'm more comfortable with letters (I've been known to write 20-page epistles), email and message boards. :-)
I love cards and letters, Lisa Kay. It makes me sad that fewer people are actually writing letters and sending cards. Opening my mailbox and having a letter from a friend or family member always perked me up. An email just isn't the same somehow, although one would think it would be.
Melissa, I'm the same way! I get super excited when I open actual mail from someone. Emails are cool, and I appreciate people keeping in touch, but a real letter is so much cooler to me!

TMJ stands for "temporomandibular joint" - which is the hinge joint that connects the lower jaw (mandible) to the temporal bone of the skull, which is immediately in front of the ear on each side of your head. The joints are flexible, allowing the jaw to move smoothly up and down and side to side and enabling you to talk, chew, and yawn.
They really should be called TMD for "Temporomandibular Disorders," but why quibble?
