Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments No. I wondered about that, but it really wasn't that near me.

message 1253: by Melissa (new)

Melissa I wonder if it is a police dept thing or a service from your phone company.

message 1254: by Melissa (new)

Melissa I took the price tag off of my new book and it left a bunch of sticky residue (sp?). Anyone have any tricks to get that off?

message 1255: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14528 comments I've ruined many a book by trying to get that sticky stuff off.

Also, here is a site for making your own "Goo Gone." Though, I'm sure you could find others, Melissa.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 648 comments Yep, GooGone is great! :)

message 1258: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 648 comments Put a little on a paper towel and rub it in a circle on the sticky stuff and should come right off. Is a little greasy though, so be sure to wipe the spot real good with a dry towel when done :)

message 1259: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14528 comments I guess I'll have to look for that stuff ☺

message 1260: by Melissa (new)

Melissa I have never heard of this stuff, I'm going to have to get some of that. It really bothers me to have price stickers on my books but about 1/4 of them leave residue when they come off.

message 1261: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (last edited Mar 27, 2013 11:36AM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Yeah, it is great stuff. I've been using it for years. They have several great products. I've used their candle wax remover - for cloth.

message 1262: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Lol a most appropriate name for a product. Yea those price stickers annoy the heck out of me too! Thanks Lisa for letting us know about it.

message 1263: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Ooops! I mean "for cloth," not "from cloth." Changed it.

message 1264: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments If you have a little alcohol prep pad - like when a nurse cleans your skin before a shot - that works too; however, you have to be careful, as it might take up some of the color, depending on the surface.

message 1265: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Oh, I have a bunch of those! I'll try it with the book I recently got. It's funny, I was thinking "I need some of that Goo Gone for this!" while I was taking that sticker off and was just making a mess on my book. Thanks for the tip Lisa!

message 1266: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Yeah, but be careful, Leslie. It depends on the surface and the type of adhesive used.

message 1267: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) I will be. Whenever it involves my books, I tend to be cautious about these things. But it did work for the book I used it on. It's all nice and clean. ^_^

Melissa I used the wiped for my glasses and it took most of it off but I will be looking for Goo Gone for future uses!

Thanks Lisa Kay!

I've used this for years, too. One bottle is a lifetime supply.

message 1272: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Lol the other day I saw a commercial/infomercial about Goo Gone. I'm like "Hey that's what Lisa was talking about!" Didn't know they had commercials about it. Lol

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14528 comments Just got back from the movies. We saw The Croods! HILARIOUS!!!!! Gosh, I laughed so hard!

message 1278: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Oh, good. We were going to see it Sunday as a family, but hubby got sick. Maybe this weekend.

message 1279: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14528 comments Definitely see it, Abigail! It was really good.

message 1280: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) I'll relay the positive review to my bf. May take his nieces to see it. Thanks! ^_^

message 1281: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14528 comments I'm sure they will love it!

message 1282: by Melissa (new)

Melissa my daughter saw it this weekend with a friend and she said it was awesome. I may have to take her back. The Host is playing to and I'm torn between that and The Croods.

message 1283: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) If you see The Host I want to hear a review. I actually liked the book (better than the Twilight series) and just want to see how the movie is.

message 1284: by Heather L (new)

Heather L (wordtrix) I haven't read the book or seen the movie, but a friend saw the movie last weekend and said it was okay. Not great, but okay.

Melissa Leslie wrote: "If you see The Host I want to hear a review. I actually liked the book (better than the Twilight series) and just want to see how the movie is."

I was really suprised how much I liked the book as I'm not a Twilight fan, which is why I want to see the movie.

I haven't read many good things from the two people I saw make comments, okay is the best I'm seeing.

message 1286: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Yea, that's the best way to describe how I felt with the book. I remember seeing the book in the library and recognized the author and felt curious about it. I have no desire to see the movie, but I've heard lukewarm reviews about it. By what I'm reading around here, it's the majority opinion.

message 1287: by Melissa (new)

Melissa I've decided to wait until it comes out on DVD and rent it rather than pay theater prices.

That is the same reason I checked it out. I saw 3 different people check it when i was checking out at the library 3 weeks in a row and thought maybe I should read that.

message 1288: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Connell (tinkerer) | 271 comments Oh goodness, I haven't been on Goodreads in so long! Decided to take an online caalculus class at school and pretty much cut myself out from the world.

So We are talking about The HOst? I went to see it and it was pretty good, it's a lot better if you don't connect it to the book, which I try to do with most movie adaptations, just so I can appreciate the movie in itself. There were cheesy parts, like the fact that Melanie's voice/conscience thing sometimes has a southern accent and she sometimes doesn't. But overall it was pretty good.

uh,oh my /8cats 99stepping al over my keyboard. I will take that as my cue to go :)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments **waves** Hey, Jordan. Yes, calculus would put a damper on your GRs time.

message 1290: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Connell (tinkerer) | 271 comments Yeah, it was awful! Two months of torture! I was the only kid taking the class online, so I was completely alone. Wayyyy to stressful! I didn't have a chance to read for an entire two months! First week out I started and finished 5 books!

message 1291: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments LOL! Trying to catch up?

message 1292: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Connell (tinkerer) | 271 comments Oh yes!! Goodness, everyone was like "Jordan, I haven't seen you reading in a while, what's up?" and i'd say "Well, as soon as I get my life back, I will get right on it!" Hahahaha!!

message 1293: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Oh, God, trading reading for math? It will never happen. :)

I hope you enjoyed those five books!

message 1294: by Melissa (new)

Melissa You poor thing... Math is awful! Give me reading any day!

message 1295: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments And I spent two hours last night helping Thing1 find the areas of irregular shapes. *shudder*

message 1296: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) I'm so glad I'm not in school anymore and not having to take any math classes. I hate math. I would take English class any day over math. Btw, I'm Asian so that makes me an anomaly. Lol

message 1297: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (last edited Apr 09, 2013 08:58PM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments I got so stressed-out over one of my huge Algebra finals once, I couldn't turn my neck for a week.

message 1298: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Connell (tinkerer) | 271 comments Yeah! It was so extremely stressful! It also didn't help that my principal was my proctor for tests and HE IS A MATH MAJOR! Everytime I would turn in a test he would immediately say something like "OH, I see you derived #7 wrong" or "Ooohh, you simplified those sins and cossins wrong". I was always so intimidated whenever I took tests, which just made me more nervous and I would do worse!

message 1299: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments And this was for fun, right?

message 1300: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Connell (tinkerer) | 271 comments Lord, no! I would never, ever, ever take math for fun! It was a college course that I decided to take while I'm in high school so that, when I go to college, I won't have as much to take. It was actually the last math class required for the major I want to go into, so NO MORE MATH FOR ME!! Yayyy :)
