Shel: Finish watching EDR! Elisa's only child is Agnese (Elisa and Fabrezio's child), and Martino (Agnese's brother) is her half brother. Fabrezio fathered him during a night of drinking and carrousing at an Inn when he was a very young man. He was only discovered to be Fabrezio's son when Elisa recognized a birthmark they both had and figured it out. She made Fabrezio go and get him and then she "mothered" him after that. He was orphaned at the Inn by the time Elisa knew of him. It has a happy ending and then watch just the very first episode of the sequel EDR-II. It is the grand finale for Elisa and Fabrezio. After that . . . I haven't gone forward because I already know a bit of what happens and I don't know that I'm prepared to actually watch it! :(
BTW -- Sorry everyone that my name spellings are sometimes different. I'm reading the Spanish subtitles and the Spanish name spellings for some of the characters are different than in Italian. Plus, there were multiple Spanish translaters who subtitled the series, so some of the subtitles are better translations into Spanish than others. :\
Also, no one has mentioned it, but I think Martino is a real hotty also and I love his childhood connection storyline with Emilia!! Their longing for one another jumped off the screen for me as well. ;)

K,Thanks, that explains a lot. I was thinking the hero was Elisa's son, LOL. I probably won't watch it for a while since i have no clue as to what is going on and couldn't finish the first one. Too much anguish for me:)

I too hope that La Figlia II doesn't end the way of EDR. I couldn't take that.

LOL! Cynthia . . . trust me, they are definitely NOT following the rules of English nobility for this one! I'm not sure that they adhered to the same rules of titled inheritance in Italy to be honest . . . so perhaps a bastard son could still be the heir of the title.(?) Also, Elisa was a servant herself. She was Emilia's (Fabrezio's niece's) governess and a hired companion to his mother (whom Agnese is named after). Elisa and Fabrezio go through all kinds of scandal and shunning by the Italian nobility to get married (it takes the entire first series and several attempts, but they eventually get hitched. ;) Anyway, I'm not sure how/why Martino is able to inherit Fabrezio's title, but he was his only son, and we all know he did indeed, as he is the Count Ristori in La Figlia. :)
Just so you know Cynthia, EDR doesn't end badly (the first full series - Elisa and Fabrezio get their happy ending in it, and the very first episode of EDR-II is there big send off wedding and smokin' hot wedding night!! NOT to be missed if anyone watched the entire first EDR. After that, I haven't watched the middle of EDR-II because some sad stuff starts happening, and I just don't know if I want to go there! Know what I mean?!! ;)

Not that it matters at this point, but it seems that Giulio has intellect to go along with his other numerous assets. He did an interview end of January where he was talking about a part in an American movie he tested for. Apparently he got the part (or it was down to him and someone else); however, he had to turn the offer down for a few reasons. He would've been in the US for at least 9 months (waaah! long enough for us stalkers to find him) and the time conflicted with his long-term contract with "La Figlia" as well as the exam he takes in April for his degree in Dentistry. WTF?? He says the American movie would have been wonderful for his acting career but he has worked hard to make it this far in his graduate studies & being a dentist has been his dream since he was young.[image error]
Okay hang....his dream is to be a dentist?!That is SO not what I would expect him to have said. LOL!
If anything, i find him even more appealing, because not only is he gorgeous and talented, but he's smart and damn adorable to boot! :P
I need to go to Italy and have my teeth done!
A dentist?! LMAO! Well . . . he does have really perfect teeth and funny, but when you originally asked about what my favorite part was on him . . . I have to say he's gorgeous, but when he flashes a smile at Agnese in La Figlia suddenly . . . WOW! Pamela . . . need any company on that long flight to Italy for a dental checkup?!! ;)

Ok, peeps. I saw a question a few posts back about something happening between Andrea and the Princess while he and Agnese were separated.Nothing happened, but a kiss that Agnese witnessed. Her and Andrea's reaction gave the Princess a big hint that she has to keep her hands off the lovely marquis.
For those of you who struggle with the subtitles, I'm creating (slowly, though) the English subtitles for this miniseries. If you're patient enough, you might live to actually see them. ;)

And yet more good news for you La figlia di Elisa fans. Mediaset (the production house) has announced a sequel for this year. And yes, Giulio will reprise his role as Andrea Casalegno Van Necker.

K2: NO worries -- I read that "Anna" and him had split before the new year! ;) They have both been spotted "out and about" with other partners, and she provided the info . . . "We were caught up in the romance of the set," (regarding working on La Figlia when they got together) and "We'll always be friends" lines. So, looks like our leading man is still . . . "searching" for the one! LOL! ;)
