omg I completely forgot about all that! Taller Walt? Haha. What about when Mr. Friendly said " You got work to do" to Michael, the same words Walt said to Locke.
ooohhh. that just gave me chills. I totally missed that!!!
Wouldnt it be weird if both of them said that at the exact same time? doo-doo-doo-doo {enter twilight zone music here}

something I don't think was explained adequately was if Walt was so special why did they let him go?I also remember the episode where Claire was told that she needed to go on the trip and that her baby was going to be important(at least i think I remember that)anyway I always thought the baby was supposed to figure prominently somehow but now,who knows?
thats, true if he was so special they would've kept him. And the baby seemed like it was of huge importance but now you just don't know.
The only thing I really know about Aaron is that no one but Claire is supposed to be taking care of him. No one else can raise him. That was the Psychics warning, and now also Hurleys warning from Charlie. hmmm....
yeah, the psychic tricks claire into getting on the plane, knowing its going to crash and aaron will be isolated- but doesn't that mean the psychic would also know what happens once they are on the island?
no, i think the psychic was in cahoots (Logans favorite word!!) with the people who want to protect the island.... maybe even was directed by Christian himself to tell her.....
Oh yeah.. and i have a theory/prediction about Walt... He is going to be the key ot MOVING THE ISLAND>.. with all that killing birds by calling them mentally to the window and making polar bears appear, i think he is going to be the one to move (or hide) the island....
I cant believe this. pcs seem to be fitting together like a puzzle....

well, more like i am sitting there, taking pcs and jamming them together how i see fit.. haa haa...
Ok, I might sound dumb, but weren't the polar bears in the Island before these guys showed up? Because they were doing experiments on them on the cages way before, or not?I seem to remember the cages being old and the others telling Sawyer that he took longer than the bear to learn the "cookie" trick...
Yeah, Lorena, you are 100% correct there.
but the first time we saw one, was when Walt was sitting on the beach, reading Hurleys spanish comic book with the polar bears in it, and then shortly after, there is a huge white polar bear chasing them..... you know what i mean? He seems to somehow 'attract' the things in nature that he is reading about or thinking about.
Wouldnt it be weird we find out that Walt has the ability to control Smokey too? Just a thought really.

If Walt controled Smokey that would be, perfect. A little too perfect. Why is Walt so special anyway? Why are all the children?
not all the children are special. Walt was because of the things he can apparently do.. but i think it goes much deeper than that, and i hope we see him on the island or at least in flashbacks/fowards soon to clear some his "powers and importance" up....
It would be so cool if Aaron started to do all kinds of freaky, scary stuff too ... LOL Just a thought!
It would be soo interesting to see what Walt's life looks like in the future. Aaron has to be special too, I mean, he was born on the island, that has to count for something!
They are going to have to do something like that about Walt because the kid who plays him is so tall now, unless they re-cast the kid.
They could never recast Walt! I know, it was sooo funny when they said he was ten years old in the episode with Michael and Mr. Friendly, I practically laughed. He looks like, 15.
Thinking about Emma's earlier comment about the children all bring special,I've thought it curious that the"others" grabbed all the children from the crash. They also stole the french woman's baby.Whether all the children are special or not they sure have gone to a lot of trouble to nab them all. With the ecception of Aaron, cxcept early on,I can't remember if Claire was pegnant or if Aaron had been born. And then keeping track of John from the time he was a baby.Seems significant that there is so much focus on the children.
I want to say it has something to do with thier innocence, and ability to adapt and overcome... The others would be able to mold them and shape them (or brainwash them in room 23).... They cannot have children of thier own on the island, so maybe it is just an obsession??
True, but maybe theres something different about children that have been on the island. Maybe their imaginations can run wild on the island, and the dreams their minds contain become real.
Both interesting theories.I think that maybe (and I say this with full awareness that they can still go another direction,as always)that when we know the answer to this we "may" have a better understanding about the island.
Yeah, there are so many layers and storylines it isn't feasable to expect to have a thorough understanding of the show. But I'll keep hoping, otherwise it'll drive me bonkers.
Rhea, as I mentioned in the other thread, I feel that the Walt angle is over and done with. What we saw last season, when he met Locke, right before Ben killed him, I think that was our closure.
sorry, I missed that, I am still trying to get through some of the threads being new. But yeah, I really want to rewatch the seasons, I feel like I have already forgotten so much. But, thanks for reminding me of that cuz now I do remember that it felt like closure. I just sometimes feel like something is missing, but of course maybe they want us to feel that way.

Shannon saw him outside her tent talking backwards and dripping with water when the Others had him.
Locke speaks to 'Taller Walt' (I love that!) when he is lying in the Dharma grave waiting to die when he is supposedly back home off the island. Do you think it is the island/Smokey appearing as Walt, or do you think Walt has some special ability to project himself to people?
He can seemingly bring things to life just from imagining them... the bird that flew into the window at his home when he was trying to get his mom to look at the bird in the book he was reading. All the dead birds that were lying around the dharma station the others were holding him hostage in. The polar bear appeared right after he read about one in the comic book on the island.... Do you think he has special powers, or is this all just powers of circumstance?
What is the deal with Walt?
