Hi everyone! Amy this book is great I'm really enjoying it and learning a lot although I feel like I should be taking notes. :) I have a favor to ask of whoever. I am reading this book on my kindle so charts or things I might fill out I'm not able to. Is there a waysomeone could scan this and email it to me?? Alright attempting to go back to sleep. Should be interesting with a snoring man and snoring dog. Thanks everyone. Stay safe if you are covered in snow like us.
thanks!! i did go back to sleep now its time to head to work! Also do you or does anyone know, how these supplements interact with medication? I am currently on Zoloft and Wellbutrin but would like to try to incorporate some of what I am reading into my daily routine.
Do talk to your Dr. Some of these are not for people on anti-anxiety medicine. We are working on scheduling a time for Julia Ross to come on our podcast. Save up your questions. I will get her to cover all of them. The Egg store has these supplements too. You can print the info and take to your Dr. Sometimes a fax will work too. Just be prepared some Dr.s are not all that up to date on all the supplements.
How are we doing with the reading? Are you lifting the dark cloud? Thoughts. Ready for Chapter 4?
Any of you thinking of starting the supplements. I am happy to share my story as always if you think of anything.

I am thinking about it, but I am confused. I don't really want to go to my doctor, my Sertraline works okay, but maybe there's more. Reading the first three chapters, it became obvious there's a reason I am a raving b*tch even though I don't want to be. What do you think?Sara in Baltimore
I find the statistic interesting that more than 80 percent of adults suffer from a serotonin deficiency. I wonder if that is why we are in the age of more, more, and more. Society, in general, seems to be living in a state of buying whatever they can - maybe so they can try to cover up these negative feelings. Just a thought.
For me it was nice to have validation for all the symptoms I was having. This book was a big push for me to heal.
I am really excited - Julia Ross will be coming on our podcast in the next few weeks. I am finalizing the date. Get your questions ready.

Loved the 3rd chapter. And just to note - I did have a high protein (greek) yogurt today for breakfast. Maybe it was just in my mind, but I felt better!
For me when my diet is not full of gluten I feel much better. Use your Healing Journal. You will see those patterns show up.
Jeanne, I will have to try that for breakfast. Great Probiotics too.

All of that seratonin stuff is FASCINATING! If only I could go back in time and give it to myself as a teenager!!! I wish all of it was common knowledge, and pretty much think it should be. It would help so many people. I've been taking 5HTP (only at bedtime) for a while, but it doesn't solve "everything" for me, so I'm still searching for the right combination, etc. But I'm going to try again with only 50mg, and see what happens. I do know that it helps me sleep, and that I'm worse off without it, so like I said, I will probably keep it in my supplement regime for now. She's also helped me be a little more committed to stay away from sugar and push the protein on myself & my family. :)
Don't forget to add that Nesting routine before bed. Maybe one of the missing links. I am off to Nest - Sweet Dreams :)
I knew the purpose of serotonin, but I didn't know what foods or situations affected it.The discussion of Aspartame (NutraSweet) was a real eye opener! I've been drinking diet sodas for the past several months because I assumed it was better for me than the sugary, calorie-laden regular drinks. I experimented: I switched back to regular drinks, and within three days I was more relaxed and sleeping much better. I know I should cut out soda as much as possible, yet I'm not quite "there." From now on, no more diet drinks or fake sweeteners!
Also, reading this chapter inspired me to keep a set of post-its and a pen by me as I read. I usually don't take notes when I read, but it's absolutely essential with this book. I've been writing what supplements I'll need at what times, along with a few other things.
I'm very much ready for the next chapter! (Actually, I've skipped a bit ahead, but I'll pretend that I haven't.)
I am sugar free & artifical sweetner free for the last 2 weeks. Well fake sugar free for a long time. I can't tell you how much better I feel. Sleeping so well too :) Off to drink a cup of green tea. Have a great day.
Keep reading - Everyone ready to start looking at Chapter 4 or are you past that? Was waiting for everyone to catch up.

This has been a wonderful eye opener. It can be a bit overwhelming with all this new infomation to absorbe. I am taking tons of notes while I read. At first I didn't want to write in the book - couldn't help it - I've been highlighting and circling everything right in the book now.I started with the 5HTP and that is working great at helping me to sleep. I have trouble in all four areas. My biggest problem is "get up and go", "feeling blah", no motivation to do the things I used to love, plus I have some chronic pain issues. Started DLPA yesterday and I am hoping that combined with the 5HTP will help. Tried the L-Tyrosine - but it gives me a headache.
Tyrosine can have a stimulant effect too. It's all trial and error to see what works. Great thing is it's not habit forming and when you start developing better habits you may not need the added boost.

Your next reading assignment is Chapter 3 "Lifting the Dark Cloud". We all need that right??
How about reading by Sunday?
No stress, just jump in where you can.
