How does Ben get off the island?

Oh he definitely teleported to the desert - he was very disoriented. Even as to the date. I believe the portal is in the Orchid Station.
Hey Hey maybe that's why some people from the island come back from the dead, like that dude that beat up Sawyer (I can't remember that worm's name!), and that other dude who said he has died 3 times in the last 15 years ... maybe Ben would have the chance to go back in time and save his daughter ...
That was my thought as well but what's this about someone dying 3 times?Really? That could explain Jack's father if that were the case.
I don't think that Mr. Friendly has come back from the dead yet. He was shown in the Michael flashback episode, but I think that was before Locke blew up the submarine and he got killed on the beach. The guy that Lorena is talking about is Mikal, the Russian guy with the eye patch that was alternately shot, beat up, pushed through the sonic barrier, and blows himself up with a grenade while taking out the undersea facility. How he keeps showing up is beyond me.
Thank you Logan... I got it now! I dont think we ever saw Mikail actually die.. hes like a cat with nine lives, but i heard that the grenade really took him out this time! We shall not be seeing him anymore, me thinks :)
As far as Mr Friendly, I know that was a flashback with Micheal, and yeah, he hasnt come back yet. Dont forget.. he was the one who told Micheal that the island wont let you die. I think perhaps the island was finished with Tom and let Hurley kiss his butt bye-bye!
Now Jacks dad on the other hand, that is a huge headache for me! What is his deal? dead or not dead? Not sure why he would fake a death in australia, but we never found the body on the island, and hes walking around like owns the place... now he has somehow seperated Claire from her baby....
I think Mr. Shepard deserves his own thread... Im going to post one. hee hee

Thanks Logan, I'm terrible with names, and then I get so excited about the topic that I forget to actually make sense when I'm writing ... he he he
You said normal and Ben in the same sentence? Oh it was sooooo teleporting. I loved that scene, in the desert. Oh he was in a parka? I forgot about that.
Okay, so I'm not sure that this has been mentioned before, so I just decided to post it in this topic...but at first, I always thought that the island was like a place for redemption, or a place to be judged. A place to "get another chance at life" because the characters in Lost all had their problems and their regrets. Later, when things started to go out of the "realm of possibility" I started to think that maybe it was an inbetween place between Heaven and Hell (again, like a place to be judged). But then that theory was tossed aside when I realized that people can get on and off the island. But then again, since it is Lost, I suppose that anything is possible, and you just have to keep your mind open to everything. When it seems like Lost has reached the limit of shocking, mind-blowing twists, it just ends up surprising you even more the next time.
So...what does everybody else think? I would love to hear more ideas about the actual island and what it is. Or where it is.
I've been thinking that the island may be a prison for Smokey and that all the weird shit for the island is a way to somehow keep him trapped. I also think that Jacob was there to keep Smokey there and to provide some balance between the two. It was interesting that smokey threw away the white rock from the scale in the cave. I also think that perhaps Jacob wasn't looking for a protector of the island but someone able to stand up to Smokey's manipulations.
Hm...yeah, that's interesting. Maybe Smokey and Jacob were both there to balence each other out and try to keep balence on the island? (Yeah, the episode with the scale and the two rocks...and then that would kind of make sense, because now that Jacob is gone, Smokey messed up the balence and tossed away the rock.)

I still have n..."Hm...yeah, that's something to think about. And why does Smokey want Sawyer to come with him so bad? Maybe he needs someone come with him for some reason...like he needs to take Sawyer's form or something? That's kinda crazy...but I suppose nothing is too crazy for Lost!
Yeah...maybe to get off the island he needs to use Sawyer, and then, he plans to kill Sawyer and use his identity or something. (Maybe the reason he can look like Locke is because Locke is dead.) But why did he choose Locke's body anyways? Maybe there's not a reason behind that...maybe the creators just loved Terry O'Quin so much, they couldn't just boot him off the show. :)
I feel Locke was chosen becuase he was the most vunerable. His entire life has been trying to prove to everyone what he can do... he is faithful, and wants to see the good in everyone, even though it may not be there.
He was the best candidate to house the MIB, becuase he was the easiest to manipulate. Dont forget, he needed to die - no one else would have succummbed the way Locke did....

good point, i beleive as well that locke was chosen for that purpose
The Man in Black may have plans to off Sawyer but there are at least two minor problems.1. It's against "the rules" -- whatever the heck that is.
2. Sawyer is a very accomplished con man. It is very possible that he has his own plans regarding the Man in Black.
Yeah! Claire is crazy! What was in the box that Jin looked in when he arrived at her hideout? I kinda missed that...
It looked like a home made stuffed animal/toy that resembled the statue in that bassinet at Claire's hideout.I was thinking the same thing about Sawyer, Rauf. Unless he's just so grief-stricken and doesn't care anymore, I bet he has a plan. He's a smart guy and knows how to read people. I mean he knew right away that Man in Black wasn't Locke, and I'm sure seeing Richard so scared got him thinking.
Claire is absolutely off her rocker. Worse, I would say, than Roussuea was after 16 years alone... my my my
wait a minute, is claire considered an other or something else?
I don't think she's an Other because the black guy she axed was an Other and they didn't seem too friendly. But she's nuts! And I wonder how she sees Flocke since she told Jin, "That's not John - that's my friend"?

DOnt forget, NotLocke is just his current body. He has been other things before. Im thinking he came to Claire as someone else at first (Christian maybe?) And when he morphed into NotLocke, she just knew it was him... dont forget, she has been taken over by the "darkness" according to whatsisname... Degan? So she is kind of linked to him.
Im will rewatch next week when they play the enhanced version of this ep, but I could have sworn it was just random bones and stuffed animal parts in the crib that she put together to fill the void of not having Aaron. She still sees him as a baby in her mind.
I really hope to god is it not vincent.

clair said she would have killed Kate, if the boy was with her. and now kate is going to find clair and tell exectly that!
Maybe Flocke, since he wants to go "home" needs to find a replacement for himself on the island and is looking at Sawyer to fill that job. Maybe he is looking for someone to counter Jacob's candidate for protecting the island. I wonder if it was important that Flocke told Sawyer (in the cave) there was really nothing to protect on the island.

We know he has some sort of underground room in his house in Othertown, shown to us when he was under attack and opened the secret wall in his closet. We didnt actually see him enter it, but when he joined the group again, he was covered from head to toe in dirt, and had summoned Smokey... do you think this is a secret portal? or just a passageway to the Orchid station (which is belived to be a time traveling device)?
Or do you think he uses a normal method of travel to get to and from the island?
