the MORTAL INSTRUMENTS
I absolutely love them! I can not wait until the spinoff series begins in September. Her writing is really beautiful and kept me guessing. If you get a chance to check out her website follow the link to the new series...the artwork is amazing.
Well, at first I was a little hesitant to get the book. It seemed more like a guys book based on the cover, to me at least. They didn't have the City of Bones but they had the second one which I thought was the first one, but thankfully I didn't read it. So after a while, and after I found out the real first book, I decided to buy the City of Bones! I also absolutely love it! I love love love Jace! I know people who hate him. Well...hate is a strong word, they don't like bad boys or guys that are concieted. But I love him, he's really sweet deep down. I also love all the other characters. Ms. Clare has the perfect balance of humor and serious scenes in this book. Everyone should read it. Haven't read the second one yet but really hope to soon!
I just picked up City of Ashes from the library. I can't read more. I liked Jace as well. I ultimate bad boy, who likes killing demons. Hot!!
what i really like about jace (spoilers alert but keep reading xPPP) is that in the 1st book hes like the "SUPER-HOTLICIOUS-COCKY-BUT-SEXY-DRIVES-GIRLS-CRAZY-BAD-BOY" but then, as the story goes on, you get to see whats really inside him and you see why he seems to be the way he is and you also seee the way he REALLY is, which is greatps-I laughed my sox of with the 3 books
Do we have any debatable topics for this series?
Do you or would you want to fight demons? What do you think of all the tattoos and scars?

I've only read the first book, but I enjoyed it. Debatable topic...hmm...one that I've seen floating around is...
Jace Wayland or Edward Cullen?
But that's not really debatable. Jace wins. He's like Edward with sarcasm and backbone. Says me.
I agree with you Jordan..jace totally beats edward..i read the whole series and trust me youll love him even more when your continue reading..
Jordan you are right. Not debatable... Jace hands down.
*SPOILERS* Jace and Clary are related... from the end of City of Bones. What were you thinking when that came up? I thought that they were going to end up together. But towards about 3/4 of the book I figured out that was coming. But I hoped that I was wrong.

its a twist, in city of glass something happens that realluy blew me away, you HAVE to read it, im not going to ruin the experience to you
I've read the three books out so far, though I don't really like the series or the characters, apart from Magnus maybe. I don't deny that the books are fun and exciting as escapism (for a while) - it's why I read all three - but the writing style annoys me. It reads too much like fanfiction for my taste. Clare used to be one of the most popular Harry Potter fanfiction writers (author of the Draco Trilogy) and it seems to me as though Jace and a few others characters to a lesser extent are super-exaggerated fanfiction versions of Harry Potter characters. Sometimes it seems as though Clare’s trying too hard to be descriptive and there’s a lot of melodramatic dialogue. I also think it's predictable - I agree it’s like Star Wars. I don’t find Clary an engaging character and I usually have to like the main character to really like a book.
in cog is sebastian right?let me se..."What characters are on the books' covers? (US Editions)
Book 1: Jace, Book 2: Clary, Book 3: Sebastian."
cool..i never even thought of sebastian..then i think the city of fallen angels cover definetly simon
I love love love these books. My fav by far and cannot wait for the next one:) .... by the way did I say I LOVE these books!!!lol
I haven't even returned City of Glass to the library yet and I have already purchased City of Bones so that I can read the series again. I think it is safe to say that I liked them a lot.
A great series. I'll be reading Them again for the re-read challenge coming up. I'm looking forward to some Jace time. LOL!
I really love them. Jace was my favorite character with his both smart and bad a** character. I can't wait for the spinoff series!
I'm only on book 2, but idk why everyone is so team jace. Yes, he is a strong character, but he's her brother! Team Simon!
Yeah, in get the feeling that they aren't actually related BC of what the fairy queen said. But as of eight now, ew! And team Simon! Lol
Gotta love a geeky guy sometimes. He stands by her and that is a good thing!
I love Simon, I think he is hilarious. I love, love sarcasm and wit. Anyone who can come up with excellent retorts is my kind of guy. I'm team Jace, Simon & Magnus! Yes that right, ALL THREE! :D
I like Jace too. Simon was annoying and overly dependent on Clary. He doesn't start to become his own person until the third book. I do think that he has changed enough over the series that the fourth book will be excellent though. I am interested in knowing where Simon's story is headed.
i agree his personality grew a little but not enough..he still has this childish thing in him..and it's annoyingim really excited about the 4th book..cuz i really wanna see that new jace with a girlfriend
Cant wait for it to come out for sure!
