The parts with Ken Jeong were the funny parts in The Hangover, imo. Taking advantage of the stereotype, nicely done, LOL.

The best movie in my opinion that John Cuscack was in is Better Off Dead.

This story has been told before, but its the brilliance of Bigelow's directorial vision that makes it stand out as a diamond in the rough amongst the rest. Certainly not as spectacular as Cameron's Avatar, but therein lies its beauty. It doesn't need to be. It's brilliance is in Bigelow's execution, the nuanced perspective of her camera and the subtly of her message on the atrocities of war. Very well done.
I guess it was the year of the woman and I'm quite pleased for her.

The comedy was not broad or slapstick or anything. It really did have the feel of a good British farce, kinda like Fawlty Towers or even like a good stage play like Noises Off. All the actors were incredibly good and quite restrained. There was no mugging or anything, everybody played it as if they were all straight men and as a result the comedy came off and very natural.
James Marsden's character got the biggest laughs. He really did a great job with the physical comedy.

I heard it was good, but I usually don't watch those kinds of movies (it's me and my attention span, not that there's anything wrong with the movie). Lately, I'd rather just read a book than watch a movie.

I recently saw Away We Go with Maya Rudolph and John Krasinki and I LOVED it! SO funny and original movie with a great cast of characters. I think I've seen it three times since then lol. Probably one of my fave IR indie movies in recent history. I highly recommend it!

Brooklyn's Finest - IR between Richard Gere and a lovely young woman I've never seen before. Their scenes were actually quite hot, but she's a prostitute and no good came of their love story, if you can even call it that. Anyway, this was your usual gangsta flick. Good if you're into that type of film. Great performances by Gere and Don Cheadle. Ethan Hawke was just okay.
Pride & Glory - I was hesitant about watching this movie because I constantly underestimate the acting genius that is Edward Norton (plus the fact that I'm not a fan of man whore Colin Farrell). Anyway, Norton's character is married to a black woman who is the process of divorcing him. They had only two (and I must say quite unsatisfactory) scenes in the movie. Another gangster movie featuring dirty cops.
The Losers - Zoe and Jeffery, I must say they were quite hot. I wish there were more intimate scenes between them or that the ones included were longer, but oh well beggars can't be choosers I guess. I found the plot to be rather unengaging, if not even a little ridiculous. I mostly enjoyed the film for all the man candy that was available and its cinemathographic beauty.
GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra - budding IR relationship between Marlon Wayans and an actress whose name I can not remember now. It's always nice to see Channing Tatum. I never tire of looking at him! LOL Also nice to see was my friend Adwele (British Nigerian actor who broke out in the role of Mr. Eco in LOST) in a such a large budget and fairly well received film. I haven't spoken to him since 2007, but I met this guy years ago when he was just starting out in London. I'm so pleased to see that he's making his way in this business. Good for him.
Valentine's Day - Jaime Foxx and Jessica Biel, Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Alba. It didn't really enjoy their story lines as much as I enjoyed some others, but its IR!!! So worth a mention! :)
Other movies I've seen are:
The Boys Are Back - This was such a cute and heartwarming film about a widower who suddenly finds himself the sole custodian of his 6 year old son after his wife's death. While a loving and considerate husband and father, he was often on the road with his job as a sports journalist so the child rearing and the housekeeping was mostly left to his wife. When she passed taking on the role of mom and dad for the boy was a monumental task with very little rewards in the beginning. For those of us who are parents we know that it can sometimes be a thankless job. This movie shows that brillantly, but the joys and discoveries made along the way, everything which ultimately makes this (being a parent) the most rewarding thing you've ever done in your life shines through in small cracks, leaving you with such a grandiose sense of warmth and joy. This wasn't a particularly well made film, with the exception of the lead actor, the acting was rather stilted, imo, but fans of the beautiful Mr Clive Owen will love him in this movie. I don't know if this movie is yet available here in the States --I got a copy of the DVD on a recent trip to the UK--but it is well worth seeing if you can get your hands on it.
Chloe - with Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried. The Reitman brothers (same guys who did Up in the Air) produced so expect bold thematic shots reflecting the nature of the characters' lives. Remember how everything in Up in the Air had a relatively dark undertone (costume and lighting) in order to reflect the nature of Clooney's job and its impact on people's lives? Well, the same quality is given to this movie except that everything is white and minimalistic to show perfection, opulence and privilege. Of course, behind this facade everything is far from perfect. The movie is slow to the point, but it wasn't a bad film. Julianne Moore brings her usual sweet vulnerability and Liam Neeson is always very distinguished and handsome.
Dear John - what else is there to say except Channing Tatum? :)
I started to watch A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints last night but fell asleep in the middle of it. Not the fault of the film, I was just tired so will resume sometime this weekend.

The thing I like about Ade is that even though he was born in the UK, he's very much Nigerian. As a rule he doesn't try to conseal his very thick Nigerian accent and other mannerism. Very refreshing in a place like LA where being fake is the way of life.
Like with most of my actor friends I don't really follow their careers so when I see someone I know doing so well, it's just awesome.

Ok, thanks. I've been out of the loop on movie news lately, so I thought maybe I'd missing hearing about them. I'm sure my sister will watch them. She loves romcoms.

It might seem juvenile but I like anime. I got caught up in the remake of Full Metal Alchemist called Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
I enjoy watching Full Metal Alchemist on Cartoon Network. I went and became an anime junkie while I wasn't paying attention. :)

You need to see Brotherhood on Hulu; if you don't mind subtitles. It is so different from CN Full Metal Alchemist. I read that Brotherhood was based on the manga, I am also a Japanese graphic novel fanatic too. Compared to the first window FMA it is more intense I think.
