Lyn, I've stopped watching the movies too. I don't want my imagination to be replaced by the movies!!

I didn't necessarily liked this book. It could have been about two hundred pages shorter and the author was incredibly sloppy with some of the facts.

25. Titanic: The Long Night

I just had the worst experience ever. I had packed up my books for an indefinite amount of time and was in the process of taking them down to Kansas over the weekend (my fiance's parents live there and agreed to house my books and shelves). As if it wasn't bad enough that my books were going to be in storage for any amount of time, it rained the whole way down and we discovered in Wyoming that the tarp covering the book boxes had a leak. Several of my favorite books and one that I consider a prize possession had enough water in them that I could squeeze them and water would drip out! I'm still in mourning for my books. My fiance doesn't get it. I knew ya'll would.

I loved this book!! Sci-fi written in the '30's with a female hero!!!
I'm freaking out. I graduate college tomorrow and I keep having this reoccurring nightmare that my name won't get called....

I found a book in the clearance bin of Barnes and Noble by David Loades called Tudor Queens of England that I'm going to start reading now. I've been rereading the Vampire Academy series since the new one is coming out next week, but this book was such a good deal that I had to buy it!

Hurray!! I finally finished it. I found the run on sentences to be a bit distracting and I didn't really get into the book until about halfway through, but overall I enjoyed it.

I can't believe I missed the graduation, CONGRATS my darling!!!
I feel like I am behind too, gr wise I have four to go but I need to take a break and read something I want to. I am about done with TLB and am finding it to be a quick read but I agree with the fact being off base. Not one of my favorites but I am glad I read it.

I'm glad I read TLB too just to get another author's perspective on Mary. But the dates and things.... they kept jarring me out of the narrative which was super distracting!!

It was free book day at the library on campus!!! They were getting rid of a LOT of British History books!!! HURRAY!! So I snagged a couple (they are mostly about literature written in the 1700's) and I got a Romance novel written in German. My bf is trying to learn German, so I figured this would be a good thing to give him LOL

Not currently one of my five, but it's that time of year again where I try to reread the whole Harry Potter series. I listened to this one on a road trip this weekend.

FINALLY FINALLY finished this book. For being only two hundred pages, it sure was a beast to get through!

I try very hard to stay away from Bookstores of any kind, but the on-line ones are especially dangerous to me since they are harder to avoid. It is hot here today, so I may go to Borders to escape the heat, which is a BIG mistake.

I hate not participating in group reads for THL but I honestly am not a fan of Plaidy. Everyone seems to really like her as an author which is great, but I find her books tedious. I've looked through the book and have read reviews and I'm not sure I actually want to read it. I'm still on the fence. The good thing is I have a couple of months to make up my mind, so that's a good thing! I might pick it up once I read a couple of the discussions.

Is there REALLY such a thing as TOO many British books? I know every time I finsih one and put it on the 'For Mom' pile, my son walks by and asks if it is another Tudor book or about England. He forgets I read lots of other stuff.

Colleen, I think I might try it out. Jennifer seemed like she really liked it so far and we have pretty similar tastes. It's encouraging that you are enjoying it too!

Colleen, I'm reading the first chapter and so far I like it. I may have to buy it!
