Hi, My name is Pat. I live in O'Fallon, IL which is about 30 mins from downtown St. Louis, MO. I have always been an avid reader. Did the whole Bobsey Twins, Nancy Drew, etc when growing up. Majored in English Lit and later went back and got an MA in the Teaching of Writing. My current fav to read is paranormal, but I throw other stuff in from time to time. Recent complete's - Silas Marner, Desire Untamed, Witch and Wizard. My husband and I are active In World Wide Marriage Encounter and we are always writing new talks or updating older ones to give on Encounter Weekends in our area. I haven't worked for several years by choice and it has given me the opportunity to spend time with out now 12 yr old granddaughter. I turn 60 next month. It just doesn't seem possible!
Welcome Pat! It is great to have you aboard!
I'm reading Sherrilyn Kenyon, and I love Lynsay Sands, Laurell K Hamilton and Katie MacAlister. Read my 1st Pamela Palmer novel and I want more! Also reading Catching Fire - like it much better than the 1st. Outside of paranormal I love the JD Robb "in Death" series. Currently reading The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, The Short Life of Bree Tanner, and for some giggles - Meditations for Women who knit too much. I am also a big Twilight Fan and can't wait for the movie Eclipse to come out the end of this month! My 12 yr old granddaughter got me hooked on some of this paranormal when her mom asked if I would preview what she wanted to read and OK it or say it was age inappropriate. So I have enjoyed some great YA that led to more adult stuff!
I am reading Anita Blake and Meredith Gentry Series. I am enjoying Anita Blake more, the 1st 3 were ok but not great. I have enjoyed Meredith from the first book. I am waiting on bk 6 of Anita Blake from library - The Killing Dance, and have finished bk 6 - A Lick of Frost from Meredith and Swallowing Darkness is in my reading pile and I will start it shortly.
Nice :) I haven't read Meredith but I love Anita Blake :) I've read all of them right up through number 19 that just came out on June 1st
Hi im Heather im 13, i live in chicagoThanks elyssa for inviting me. i love reading, in fact i love reading when its rains outside since it makes everything so calm. i also love volleyball and cooking
Heather!! :D Welcome to our group! We're so glad to have you with us. I agree about the rain. I love to read when it rains. I think the best place to read is outside, makes the book seems more real.
Heather! Thanks for accepting the invite. I think you will enjoy this group. *grins* Yup, you will!
My name is Sarah, I am 23 years age and I live in Ohio. As far as more about myself goes, I will share more at a later date!!! I'm not really feeling too hot right now. Just got back from urgent care and found out I have bronchitis.
Oh but I guess somethings I can spout off right now are that I love computer games, Netflix and animals. I have 4 dogs and a cat of my own - all of which are rescues. As far as reading goes I am both a title and cover whore. I will read/pick out a book due to both of these components. I also love reading challenges even if I don't finish them! I am engaged to the best man on my side of the planet and I love him with all of my heart! We have been together for 3 years and counting. Not a moment goes by where I do not think about him. He is my EVERYTHING! Any other questions feel free to ask... just remember right now I am not under the radar!
Welcome to the group, I've also been feeling horrible. I hate summer sickness. For some reason it is so much worse then wi ter sickness :(

I used to get bronchitis about 5x a year, really bad. I would even get it without a preceeding cold or anything, just stress could bring it on, so I really feel for you. Luckily, or maybe I should say hopefully, I am past it, I haven't had it for over a year now...knock on wood.
I too am a cover/title whore. Books are like anything else in life I suppose, we are attracted to what we perceive as beautiful, or funny, or whatever other criteria we find appealing. My most blatant example was the book I found at the library on a display a few years ago "Big Hair and Flying Cows". How do you NOT pick that up and investigate? I read it in one sitting and laughed out loud the entire time.
Hey! Glad to have you Ali.
Summer is here and group has def slowed down a lot! But that is ok. It's summer. Everyone should be enjoying it:)

Hi Everyone,My name is John Cicero and I am a fantasy/adventure author. My passion for writing is driven from the joy I receive from reading my stories to my children.
Watching the expressions on their faces as I take them on a journey through the magical pages of my imagination is what drives me to find the time to write.
My recently released novels are in the Rainbow's Shadow Trilogy. They are Rainbow’s Shadow and the Tablets of Fate and Rainbow’s Shadow and the Covenant of Wisdom.
As a passionate writer in Northeast, Ohio I have been fortunate to hit the Best Sellers list with 'Tablets of Fate' and am on track currently with the 'Covenant of Wisdom'.
The final novel in my trilogy is Rainbow’s Shadow and the Other Side of Paradise which is currently in development.
If you have a moment check out my website and Rainbow's Shadow Trilogy today at... www.RainbowsShadow.com
Take care, John

Hi I'm Jessica! I'm 23 and from Ontario, Canada. And of course I love to read. I'd say my absolute favourite author is Richelle Mead. I haven't read anything by her I haven't really enjoyed. I guess that makes a reader mostly og PNR and UF. Although now and again I enjoy YA and historical romance.
I'm pretty excited to have found this group and look forward to discussing books!
welcome to the group jessica! i think you'll find us a much more active group once summer is over! everyone is off enjoying life right now!

Hi everyone!David Petersen here. I am a writer and educator, with degrees in psychology and theater studies, and certificates in English teaching and Japanese proficiency.

Hi - I just joined Goodreads the other day. My name is Debbie and I live in Scarborough, Ont. Canada. I'm just getting back into reading. At the present time, I'm taking, and have almost completed a "Writing for Children" course. I'm really liking it. I look forward to talking about books, sharing ideas and getting to know some new friends here. Thanks.

Hey, everyone. :D I am new to this site and to this group. I am still trying to figure out how this place all works, but I am sure I will get it eventually. So, hi, my name is Regan. I am 16-years-old and I live in Australia. I just finished reading Looking for Alaska by John Green and plan to read The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien next.
