Hello again Pandy. Glad to have you over here as well.

Mary, that is awesome that your daughter loves to read ad well. I'm trying to get my boys more into reading. They rather me read to them then them reading to themselves. As long as we can enjoy a good story everything is all right.

Lindsey Ward | 2 comments Hello everyone! My name is Lindsey and I'm a sophomore in high school in central Florida. I love reading so much, especially the classics (yes, even the required reads at school). I don't have much free time now, but in the future, I plan on establishing a personal library of first editions, or at least nice copies of most of the older books. I'm single (obviously) and am really dedicated to academics right now. I'd like to help in any way that I can with your project, I think it's a great idea! :)

message 103: by [deleted user] (new)

That's great! I'm happy to have you joining and supporting!

Denise (redreader) | 34 comments I'm from Nebraska. I'm 35 with a two yr old that loves to "read"
This is a great project and I'm hoping something wonderful comes of it.
I started the Imagination Library for the children here in our town...Dolly Parton set this program up for children to learnt he love of reading. children from birth to five get a book a month sent to them in the mail. My 2 yrd loves getting the new books!
I read most anything. I am in a book club in our litle town and we are reading Kite Runner (sorry don't have authors name in front of me) and Shades of Blue by Karen Kingsbury.
I took up reading at a young age - following my grandmothers steps.
We have several places for books for our up and coming reader - he picks books as his "toy" of choice most of the time now. In fact the closest thing to a lovey he has is Mr Brown Can Moo!
Hope to have a great time talking over the love of reading!

Jason | 21 comments Hi, I'm Jason in Indiana College Grad w/ a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Work in a Call Center getting peoples computers connected to the internet via aircards/tethering phones.

Mainly read Fiction like Jeffery Deaver (Lincoln Rhyme & others), James Patterson (Mainly Alex Deleware), Vince Flynn (Mitch Rapp), Tom Clancy, Finance/Business Books, Some Mystery (Sherlock Holmes Mainly but some Perot)& whatever looks or sounds interesting.

Have avoided some of the popular series like Twilight/Harry Potter, didn't seem to be interesting to me & little to Main Stream. Have read some Classics & Sci-Fi as well like some Jack London/Mark Twain/Star Trek Novels.

Welcome, Jason.

message 112: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Philion Hi my name is Sarah and I live in rural upstate NY with my husband and 9 yr old son (who also loves to read). I will read just about anything, but I tend to stick to NYT Bestsellers fiction. I just read "let the great world spin" very interesting characters.

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll have to check the NYT Bestsellers fiction list.

Welcome to the group.

message 114: by Laurie (new)

Laurie Christiansen (lchristiansen) | 2 comments My name is Laurie. I'm a teacher from Wasilla, Alaska (yes, the home of Sarah Palin and no, I don't ever see her at the grocery store, and even if I did I wouldn't smile and say "hi" or even slow my shopping cart). I love to read. Which is good, because the winters here are VERY long.

Jana at ThatArtsyReaderGirl.com (miss_jana) Hi, I'm Jana!

I'm 22 and a recent graduate from Utah Valley University with my bachelor's in art and visual communications (graphic design emphasis and art history secondary emphasis.) I'm a singer and travel all around the country doing what I love. I also own my own graphic design business and have done freelance work for friends, fellow business owners, and for large companies like Microsoft. I love, LOVE reading and enjoy all genres. My most favorite right now is the sweet, clean romance. I just finished Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater and am now reading Into Thin Air by Cindy Miles. I also really enjoy mysteries, like those of Mary Higgins-Clark and Catherine Coulter. And... I love my art history books. :)

message 118: by [deleted user] (new)

I wish you luck to keep and thrive on all of your success.

*waves* Thank you very much for joining. I can't wait to hear more about the art history books!

Deb (Readerbuzz) Nance (debnance) I'm debnance and I'm a librarian in a primary school. My latest project is to try to read all the books in the new book, 1001 Children's Books to Read Before You Grow Up.

My blog at readerbuzz.blogspot.com is all about books. I love to have people stop by my blog and leave comments.

I pass along most of the books I read. I'm debnance at BookCrossing.com and I'm always happy to trade.

message 123: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Hey everyone. I'm Jen, a 24 yr old grad student and when I grow up I want to be a teacher. I love to read and talk about books. Right now I'm big into ya fantasy (percy jackson, vampires, etc) b/c they are so fast and such a nice break from reality, and I'm trying to work my way thru some of the classics. I'm always looking for new books to read. And it is my goal in life to have my own personal library.

message 124: by Tiamat_the_red (new)

Tiamat_the_red | 13 comments Hi all,

I love sci-fi and fantasy with the occasional non-fiction, mystery or fiction thrown in (way to cover my bases, right?). I'm an engineer and I feel like I don't have nearly enough time to read but I'm working on that. I miss being able to spend an entire day reading.

message 126: by [deleted user] (new)

123 123 | 1 comments Amir 19 from Canada. University student, not sure what I'm majoring in, probably Computer Science and/or Economics. I sort of left this site for two years, and didn't read much. Now I'm back. That's it.

Also, I find the lack of males disturbing, am I in the wrong place?

Aerieyalle *Goddess of Vampires* Kingdoms (goddessofvampires) hi, i'm aerieyalle

message 132: by [deleted user] (new)

Amir, you are in the right place. Eveyone is welcome in this group. The lack of male readers bother me as well. If you find more send them over here to help balance out the group.

Welcome, Aerieyalle.

message 137: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (ohkaykatt) | 4 comments Hello, I'm Kayla. I was born and raised in a semi-small community in southwest Texas. Since there's not much to do in my town but hang out and gossip, books have become my best friend. Writing and graphic design are my two passions in life. I am quite fond of reading romance novels, but I am open to anything that is interesting. :)

message 138: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) hi kayla

message 139: by [deleted user] (new)

Kayla, I'm sure the books make for a more interesting night then the local gossip. Small towns are always good for that. Thanks for loving to read and sharing with all of us. :)

Hello, Rachel

message 141: by Amber (new)

Amber | 24 comments I'm Amber, obviously I guess. I'm a wife, a mother and designer. I love to travel and I actually enjoy getting on a plane. It's like a portal to anywhere, freedom and adventure. *sigh* I wish I was on one right now. I visited Montreal last summer and fell in love. I want to go back and do it all over again. Besides, they seem to have the best bagels in the world. :P

I read a lot of just general fiction, classics, and sci-fi. I'm not opposed to reading non-fiction either. I like to mix it up now and then.

My other obsessions are music, art, photography and um... facebook. I admit it. I'm an addict.

message 142: by [deleted user] (new)

I used to be really addicted to facebook. Not so much any more. I update my stays every know and then. I do like that I get to see how everyone is doing all at once.

message 143: by Jencey/ (last edited Feb 21, 2010 12:17PM) (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) You know there are some benefits to fb. I use it for author research for book discussions so that I can include information taht otherwise would not be available. So I guess you don't want to join my house on Soriotity House. :)

message 144: by Amber (new)

Amber | 24 comments Hahaha! I don't play many of the app games, besides Scrabble. I mainly use fb to keep up with friends and family.

message 145: by [deleted user] (new)

Facebook does have the addictive pull when you have nothing to do. When i was off from school I felt like I was checking every fb every hour.

message 146: by Elise (new)

Elise P (elisep726) | 12 comments Wow, I think I've posted in this group a few times, pretty darn rude of me to not introduce myself.

Well....

Hi my name is Elise and I'm a read-aholic (muahaha, come on that was funny)

I'm 23 years old, I've recently gone back to college, with full intention of moving toward university at the end of the year. I'm thinking English Literature and or Teaching.

I was born and currently live in Australia.

I have a blog, you can visit if you like http://radiodarkness.wordpress.com/
I don't get many hits, because I'm not very interesting, so it would seem.

I spend most of my time lost in my own little worlds or in someone elses written worlds most of the time. Some people describe that as being a dreamer, or I do think i've evn been called a Space Cadet on occasion.

I like interesting discussions about stuff, stuff that makes me think about more stuff. So feel free discussing stuff toward me, I don't mind.

Anyway, I'm running late for class...

See you on the other side :)

message 149: by Katy (new)

Katy (sopranino) | 2 comments Hello everyone! My name is Katy, and I hail from snowy Chicagoland. I'm a musician by trade (voice) and am going back to school in the fall to get my Master's in Music Education. I am also a proud Navy veteran, served 6 years, 3 of which were in Naples, Italy and I SO want to move back there.
I'm mostly into fantasy/sci-fi, currently I work at my public library, which makes it really handy to pick up all the latest books and I get great recommendations from the other staff and patrons!
So, I guess that's me, not much more to say! Good luck with your project!

Thanks for the luck & thanks for joining! Feel free to jump into all the conversations or make up a new one. Have fun on here.
