Sherry (wstridgerunner) I'm only a couple of hours away from Boonesboro (sp) where NR lives but I'm originally from southern West Virginia. If you threw a rock really hard where I'm at; it'll land in WV LOL :D

I spent a couple of years in Virginia Beach at Ft. Story, I love the ocean even though it's not my original stomping grounds so to speak.

Vanessa (vanessamc) | 58 comments I've lived in Va Beach, and Norfolk, Va. I've never lived in West Virginia, but I've been there and it's beautiful. The Shenandoah valley is one of my favorite places. I may get back there someday, but until then I'll just have to go there when I read.

message 159: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Kronk Tammie, if you like the "Key" trilogy, you have to try the "Three Sisters" trilogy. They were my introduction to NR. :)

message 160: by [deleted user] (new)

ok i,ll try those to

Yes, the Three Sisters Trilogy is one of my favorites too and my first Nora Roberts book as well. I originally thought that I wouldn't like her because every time I thought of romance novels, I mistakenly would relate the genre to Harlequin romances. Nora Roberts writes so well and the variety of her themes and twists hooked me right away. She is very versatile. I still don't read a lot of romances, but I read every Nora Roberts I can get my hands on.

Emily (imabrooks2) | 81 comments Tammie, I loved the three fates by Nora, and the Chesapeake bay saga. Pretty much all of her books are good, but the newer ones seem to be the best. like 2000 and on. good luck. shes a great author.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do this, but here it is-
Hi, I'm Karlie and I've been a fan of Nora since I read Carolina Moon (which is still my favorite) and I've read at least a dozen of her novels. I've begun a few of her series' but I have to say so far my favorite series has been the Bridal Quartet. I am also a fan of the Eve Dallas series.

message 164: by Sherry (new)

Sherry (wstridgerunner) Hi Karlie! :)

message 165: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks SherryD and Melody! :D

message 166: by Emily (new)

Emily (imabrooks2) | 81 comments Hey Karlie. Carolina Moon was my first Nora Novel too. I fell in love with that one and now I can't get enough

Maria FantastikaRomance Hi all NR fans! Oh I just love Goodreads where you can meet people that love the same things you do. Books!

I haven´t read that many of Nora Roberts books yet, only 35 and two J D Robb ones (those were in Swedish and the translations sucked so I just have to re-read them in English).

This summer when I spent my holiday on an island, I finished all the books I had brought with me. I had angst for days. Why didn´t I bring more books, why???
So guess my surprise when my hubby gave me his laptop with like a million Nora Roberts e-books. Let´s just say he know his fast-reading wife better than she does herself.
My summer was suddenly looking much brighter.

Ever since then I read a Nora Roberts book for breakfast instead of the newspaper. So I get romance instead of war and accidents with my cereals.

Mel W (melw) | 4 comments I'm a big Nora Roberts/JD Robb fan - nice to have found a group with like-minded souls :)

Jessa ♥ EvilDarkSide (metalgirl80) I'm a big J.D. Robb fan....I love her writing style with the "In Death" series. I've only read one or two Nora Roberts books and I didn't like her writing style as much as I do with the J.D. Robb books. I would like to give Nora Roberts another try so I was wondering what are some of her better books....there are so many to choose from and I need help figuring out what her best ones are. Any suggestions?

message 170: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (indiaskye) Hi, I'm new here. I discovered Nora's books a year and a half ago, and have read around 15 of her books so far. I love her stories and her characters ... :o)

Alexis-Morgan Roark (alexismroark) | 15 comments Hi, all. I am a HUGE J.D. Robb fan who has recently started reading Nora's body of work. Easier said than done, right? I can't get into the trilogies, it gets a little repetitive for me, but the single titles have been a joy!

Jill Hunter (jillyingeorgia) | 5 comments Carolina wrote: "Hi Jill! Welcome to this group. Looking forward to discussing books with you."

Thanks! I love her books, but I am really hooked by the JD Robb series. I find her sense of humor engaging, and her charaters realistic and people I would like to know.

I afraid I would disagree with your assement of her trilogies. They have been some of her best work IMHO. THree Sisters and her Key series amoung the best.

Cool. I'll give them another try after I get through the single titles. I honestly couldn't get past the first Key trilogy. That's the one where the "spirits" live in a house, right? Or something like that. I also had to push through the "Hollow" series. To each his/her own, right? :-)

Our posts are practically a mirror image! I know what you mean...I had a hard time getting into Nora, but I am enjoying the single titles that I've read.

Off the top of my head, try "Blue Smoke." Just don't watch the TV movie...unless it's free. :-)

What other authors do you like?

Take care.

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) Hey i'm Lizz and i'm 22 about to be 23. I foster puppies and I have two dogs of my own. I'm dyslectic but I love to read. If it wasn't for the english teachers I had in high school I won't be reading at all. I was reading on a 2nd grade level going into high school and left at a 9th grade level. I also have ADHA. You guys can ask me anything you what to know about what I went thourgh.

message 180: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (alyssa_hesper) Hi, I'm Alyssa and I am a huge J.D. Robb fan. Since I am done with that series (anthologies included), I thought I would start reading her Nora Roberts books. I've really liked what I've read so far. I'm on the 2nd book in the Donovan series and I've read all of the Bride quartet series and can't wait for Happy Ever After in November.

message 181: by Kate (new)

Kate (literarykate) | 5 comments I've been posting a bit around here but I just wanted to say hi to everyone! I'm a recent Nora Roberts fan because a friend recommended the Bride Quartet books to me this past summer. I'm currently re-reading Vision in White and can't wait for Parker's story in November. :)

message 182: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 1 comments I just joined this website today because I wanted to discuss books I've read with people who are reading the same thing. Also to get suggestions based on the books I’ve read. I think the first Nora Roberts book I read was Vision in White and I absolutely Loved it! I also recently read The Search, Black Hills and High Noon and I loved all of them. I love how they are romantic but also have a little suspense thriller too. So any suggestions on what to read next? Or just all of them? Lol. Thanks!

message 183: by Elcee (new)

Elcee | 12 comments You might like the Chesapeake Bay series and the McKade Brothers series as well. I really liked the Stanislaski books as well. The Nightshade, Nightshield etc books are also a series.

message 184: by Elcee (new)

Elcee | 12 comments Oops, sorry! Spelling error there. That's the MacKade series (4 books) and the Night Series (6 books in that one). The Garden Series has 3 books. That should keep you going for a while

Brooke, with Nora, you can't go wrong with most of her books. I've loved most of them.

In general, her standalones are romance/suspense.
The trilogies tend to be more romantic and often have a paranormal element.

She also has a lot of reprints out there of her early Silhouette short romances. Not sure if they will appeal to you, but they are great sweet romances to read if that's your thing.

Welcome to the group!

♥ Miss Jennifer ♥ (jennrenee) | 1 comments Hey everyone! My name is Jenn and i'm 24 yrs old and
I absolutely love Nora Roberts and all her books. i am so glad i found this group so that i can chat with other Robert's fans! :)

message 188: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello to everybody!
I'm Sky -that's not my real name of course but please call me so- and I discovered Nora Roberts just days ago :)
I saw the first book in the Dream triology at the bookstore and I remeber thinking "Huh, it sounds interesting." So I bought it. But that was weeks ago. I picked it up only few days ago and coudln't stop reading. The next day, I went to the bookstore to buy the rest of the triology which I finished in two days. I loved them! *sigh*
Now I'm currently reading Vision in White, and I'm planning to read more of Nora Roberts. So I thought it's just right that I join this group.

Elcee | 12 comments Just looking at where some of you live. I live in North Queensland, Australia and I'm telling you I'd have to throw a rock REALLY HARD to hit anything in the USA. Last time I was there I flew into Canada and spent a week in Montana (long before I actually read Montana Sky) and it was a long, long flight.

Gail Distefano | 3 comments Hi My name is Gail and I am new to this group. I love Nora for obvious reasons and I also read and enjoy JD Robb. The 4th b ook of the wedding quartet has ben put on shelves early here in Canada and I picked it up last night. I love the search

Tammy | 25 comments Hi Gail, welcome to the group!

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) I am relatively new to Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb, discovered her last year, although before that I had watched quite a few of her movies on Lifetime (books are so much better!), now I have read quite a few of her books.
Love the trilogies and her In Death series most but there is still a lot out there that I haven't read yet.

message 194: by Beth (new)

Beth Pollard (BeffyP) Hello everyone,

I am new to Goodreads. I found this group by happy accident.

I have read everything by NR except the elusice Promise Me Tomorrow. I am reading the In Death series now and am enjoying Eve and Roarke very much.

I was introduced to Nora Roberts when I picked up Chesapeake Blue. I live near the Bay and thought it would be a fun summer read. Then I had to go find the other books in the series. And an addiction was born.

I have poked around a bit and the group looks fun. I am sure I will enjoy participating.

Deanna | 2 comments My name is Deanna and I have been a Noraholic FOR EVER!!! I was introduced to her work early, around the mid 80s when she started. But my love for her work just got outta control about 15 years ago and I have been collecting her books since. I am now within sight of the finish line (to this point) and only need 20 more books left (not including those due out this year). I also have EVERY JDRobb book published including the anthologies and mini books. I am so glad I am not the only one who loves this fabulous author...

Hello,

My name is Talya, and I'm a Noraholic :-)
I've actually already been posting here, but I thought I'd formally introduce myself.
I actually read my first Nora book in 2008 - Tribute, then I took a couples years break, dunno why i took a break because I really enjoyed that book, anyways. I read a few single release titles, then switched to focus on triologies and sagas. I have read 30 titles so far and my goal is to have all of her books read by the end of 2011, which it seems I'm on schedule for.

Just love all things about her books, it's wonderful to relax and mentally get lost in her stories for a while.
