Eastofoz | 12 comments I had a book when I was a kid back in the early 70s called "The Toy-box". It's a collection of short stories for children (almost like an early reader) of 190 pages with a few coloured pages but mostly black and white drawings scattered around the stories. Unfortunately I ripped out part of the first three pages as a kid and I can't see the authors names or ISBN number.

The cover has a red chest with a black cat holding a blue yellow green and red beach ball over its head, a blue poodle with its tongue sticking out, a black and white cat holding a yellow banner that says The Toy-box, a yellow and black tiger and an old elf dressed in green playing a drum that you bang along the sides in a marching band. On the back cover all the characters on the front cover are peeking out of the red chest and below it says "Young Canada Reading Series" in black.

Part of the table of contents is still there and there are group titles. They are:

Let's Play (with the short story Let's Play by Judith Lawrence)
Magic Rides (with the short story Magic Rides by John McInnes)
Just for Fun

On the spine I think the publisher is Nelson and there's a number 3 a the top as if it was part of a series.

If anyone can tell me the ISBN number and authors/editors I'd appreciate it :)

Looks like the editor is John McInnes. Sorry, that's all I could find for now!

Eastofoz | 12 comments This appears to be the one! Thanks Jasmin. If you come across any additional information just to be 100% sure I'd appreciate it if you'd post back. Thanks :)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 1396 comments Eastofoz, Do you want to put this in the solved folder or are you not sure yet? Thanks.

Eastofoz | 12 comments It's not completely solved yet Lisa because I don't have the ISBN number. I contacted the publisher with the information and I'm hoping they'll reply.Maybe someone else here can provide me with an ISBN in the meantime. As soon as I get it I'll put it in the solved folder.

HeavyReader | 450 comments Just got an message from Eastofoz who said, "Yes it has been solved but I'm no longer a member of that group so I can't move it."

I'm going to take care of moving the folder and adding the book.

I love tying up loose ends!

Brenda Khamsoksavath | 2 comments Hello,

I know this post is like super old, but I have the actual book The Toy Box from 1961. Is it worth anything?

Brenda, check out how much it's going for on Amazon, Alibris, and all the other used book sites.

Brenda Khamsoksavath | 2 comments Thanks Lobstergirl, I just checked. There are some that go from 100-500 dollars, but those are paperback from 1977, I can't find any other information on it.
