Well, I haven't actually read it myself, but I do want to. Most of my friends don't read many classics anyway, so that would explain why they don't like her books to begin with.
I have read different classic authors, there were ok. I do really like Austen though. You should try Austen some time, Sandy
I read a lot of classics; she's on my list :) and when I do, I'll probably like her, and then tell my anti-Austen friends they're crazy :D
Yeah. your friends can't claim to hate her if they have never tried any of her books, they could be surprised.

I loved P 'n P but I actually hated sense and sensibility, and ive never read mansfield park, though its on my tbr list
almost everyone I know who read prde and prejudice loved it

Did you hate how Elinor was treated? Maryann was a little annoying until she started to change.
I read Persuasion and Northanger Abby, but I didn't like them as much and never reread them. Mansfield Park is great, it is slow in a few parts, but picks back up and turns out to be a good story. :)

Oh, my gosh. I forgot to add Emma! That is a great book as well by Austen. I loved it more than Mansfield Park and just as much as S & S.

Is Scorpion that bad, Haven't ever considered reading it, but if you hate it, I'm going to avoid reading it in the future lol :)
I had to read it for school and I really didn't like it. I was set against it from the beginning (i would have hated it anyway) because it's by Walter Dean Myers, and earlier we had read Bad Boy, which I hated also.
i can't do anymore books right now cause i ordered them from a catalog and they didn't come yet :(
