please find ways to save the world!!!

Do you know that cows are doing more damage to our atmosphere than cars?

message 3: by Allie (new)

Allie (pearlrose95) See the Global Warming discussion.

Xerxes Break(Vivian Ephona) (ephona) Recycle. The biggest thing you can do. My dad works for the newspaper; you have no clue how many papers their are in that little workplace. If you must, just recycle your newspaper. You always get it; if everyone did it we'd save tons of paper which would save tons of trees to keep the oxygen level in our air good.

message 5: by Allie (new)

Allie (pearlrose95) wut i said.

Asia | 35 comments I ABSOLUTELY agree with all of you. we all know that the world can be saved but what about the animals. The polar bears are dying...... and plese don't make this topic a threat! :(

message 7: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin This is a bit-off topic, but it has somewhat to do with the title. I have these two friends who call themselves "environmentally-friendly"- lately they've been claiming they love the earth and want to help it, and they always say "Be green. Like us!" But I've noticed that during lunch, they leave all their lunch bags and trash everywhere, and don't bother to pick it up. The only times they actually pick up their trash is when the teacher tells them to. Whenever I tell them that, they're always like "Oh, but we were just about to pick it up, honestly!" I always think, why didn't they pick it up before hand, in the first place?

message 8: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin Yeah, I agree. I keep telling them, that's not actually being green, but they wave me away, saying they are.

message 9: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin None taken. They are lousy friends.

message 10: by Wee!wawaLAA!!! (new)

Wee!wawaLAA!!! (kawala) | 139 comments It kinda sucks how the U.S. has like the most pollution and stuff from the stupid economy. I think some people even say that global warming doesn't exist, which is REALLY stupid.

message 11: by Asia (last edited May 15, 2008 07:55PM) (new)

Asia | 35 comments I try so hard to be a tree hugger and environmently but sometimes, you really can't.

message 12: by Soumya (new)

Soumya last year, i did a project on the sun for a science fair and i learned that in 5 billion years the sun is going to destroy all the planets including the earth.
it's scary.

message 13: by Soumya (new)

Soumya yea!!

my school recycles paper, do you guys recycle paper or other things?

message 14: by Wee!wawaLAA!!! (new)

Wee!wawaLAA!!! (kawala) | 139 comments yea, technology is taking over the world, so soon enough, we don't really even need mailboxes
unless you guys believe in rebirth cycles, then the worries will really be passed onto the future
and its possible that it'll be much closer than 5 billion years...somehow, my friend had once told me that the world is going to end in 2012, though it seems a bit too early
my school recycles paper too, but still way too much paper in trash cans because students don't care about it that much

message 15: by Soumya (new)

Soumya i don't know.

i think a few people die in peace without knowing it. and i think some die with pain.

who knows, we have to be that person in order to know how it feels.

message 16: by Asia (new)

Asia | 35 comments harsh words oakwar but i would want the same.

message 17: by Soumya (new)

Soumya why are we talking about death?

it is scary to think about it.

message 18: by Wee!wawaLAA!!! (new)

Wee!wawaLAA!!! (kawala) | 139 comments I wouldn't really know.
strangely i think about the whole society crashing all of a sudden way too much for my own good
but only because nobody's doing ANYTHING about it
naaaw, we're probably talking about it because it's going to come up some point in this century

message 19: by Soumya (new)

Soumya if i were you, i wouldn't want to talk about my own death.

yea, nobody's doing anything, espicially the president.

message 20: by Asia (new)

Asia | 35 comments good point! I wonder who even started the convo about death. I just replied but other than that.....

message 21: by Soumya (new)

Soumya anyone know what's happening to the polar bears?

the news is saying that the polar bears are decreasing.

message 22: by Soumya (new)

Soumya i feel bad for them. anyone doing anything about it?

message 23: by Soumya (new)

Soumya oh.

message 24: by Wee!wawaLAA!!! (new)

Wee!wawaLAA!!! (kawala) | 139 comments yea, probably
but i guess that's why i'm strange
and pretty much proud of it :)
of course, it's not like i'm going to go all psycho and suicide or anything like that

the glaciers are melting like crazy now...since the arctic region is getting much warmer while other places are getting cooler
the poor polar bears T^T
they should seriously find a way for everybody to support saving polar bears...they're now part of the endangered list
i think that is true, oakwar, how smokers are adding more pollution
but they're "addicted" and only more people are starting to smoke and stuff

message 25: by Katie (new)

Katie | 312 comments ugh there are like a bazillion kids at my MIDDLE SCHOOL who smoke. its pathetic. one kid got caught smoking in the bathrooms. and i heard a seriously disturbing convo at brunch from a smoking eigth grade couple. and we have drug dogs at our school like every day.

message 26: by Asia (new)

Asia | 35 comments OMG, drugs and smoking are horrible. They are addictive and its something that I would never wanna do. I feel so sorry for the polar bears, I heard about this news quiet a while ago. everyones gotta know that we're the ones thats killing this planet and every living things on it. I predict the future that...........

message 27: by Soumya (new)

Soumya yea.

middle schoolers smoking? Seriously?
isn't it illeagal to take drugs until you're eighteen years old?
smoking and taking in other drugs is bad.
when i was in health class a few weeks ago(health is over for me) we talked about how the drugs are harmful.

and oh ya, I would never wanna do drugs, oh wait...I already said that. oh well.

message 29: by Wee!wawaLAA!!! (new)

Wee!wawaLAA!!! (kawala) | 139 comments really? so far i don't know anybody in middle school who smokes...at least, not publically
but i've heard about how people have broughten drugs to school in past years...but i've found so many cigarrete thingies on the ground, and i just want to freaking PUKE
hey, katie, is your school in a somewhat bad neighborhood?
yea, it's supposedly illegal, but i guess because it's illegal, people WANT to try it and then they get hooked on the stuff
when they tried to teach the schools i've been to, they taught em extremely graphically...with a buncha videos and pictures and stuff of what happens with drug taking
it's SOOOOO gross

message 30: by Katie (new)

Katie | 312 comments no, i dont live in such a bad place...but its just, idk, well, ask allie. its not particularly bad, but we live nearish oceanside which is REALLy bad.
at brunch this girl went up to her boyfreind and wuz like, hey do you still smoke? and hes like ya why? shes like cuz i ran out of cigarettes. and i practically shouted you idiots! at them.
and last year a girl got suspended twice for drinking alcohol at school so the finnally expelled her. she was our class T.A. though.

message 31: by Katie (new)

Katie | 312 comments same. i will never do drugs ever.

message 32: by Soumya (new)

Soumya me too.

message 33: by Wee!wawaLAA!!! (new)

Wee!wawaLAA!!! (kawala) | 139 comments oceanside? just be careful of all that wind and stuff...do you mean the surroundings are bad?
OMG! are you serious, katie? ...wait, is this in middle school or high school? cause that's wrong...in so many levels
ALCOHOL? gawd...is there something wrong with those people? i'm sure their lives can't be THAT bad
haha, like my brother was thirsty..and we were in china, and so my uncle-like person (who smokes...that looser) got him a drink without knowing what it was...it just had a picture of a pineapple. And so my brother took a sip and was like WTF? and found out it was pineapple beer.

message 34: by Katie (new)

Katie | 312 comments yeah, oceanside is a city thats got like a bazillion gangs, and worse.

middle school.

pineapple beer? ew.

message 35: by Wee!wawaLAA!!! (new)

Wee!wawaLAA!!! (kawala) | 139 comments really? i guess mine is okay-ish...i just live in the borderline of all these different areas
that is really some middle school. i would just seriously love to beat those people up and not give a care about what happens...but the plus side that i see about living in those types of cities are having an experience about what's going on in the world...unlike the richer areas. :)
bread beer? ._____."" wooows, that'll be something, alright...i guess they're trying to get younger kids to drink it or something, since its graphic is fruit-wise

message 36: by Wee!wawaLAA!!! (new)

Wee!wawaLAA!!! (kawala) | 139 comments are you serious?
my parents hate drinking...unless it's like just beer and it's some special party at our house

message 37: by Soumya (new)

Soumya you know beer is bad too.

message 38: by Wee!wawaLAA!!! (new)

but obviously, parents don't listen to children very often :P

message 39: by Waffle...♥ (new)

Waffle...♥ (rawritzwaffle) | 94 comments I donated 500 grains of rice :D

Okay so our parents think they are always right and they are never wrong... so we should LEARN from this so when we have children WE SHOULD listen to our kids. Then that way, parents DO listen to thier kids :O

message 40: by Waffle...♥ (new)

I read an artical once about how the oldest child is always hit the hardest with that sort of thing, and it is so true! I've really noticed it in my life.........

i believe you've already SEEN him...he looks strange, and acts even stranger
ehhh, whateversss, i'm used to annoying the hell out of my parents, and if i don't do that, it annoys ME, so it works one way or another
it's really sad, but i don't really think it works that way all the time
it's just that when it comes to the older child to make a mistake, the parents just HAVE to make sure it doesn't happen again to their other child/children
it's alright oakwar, they're some benefits, eventually :D
