I just want to say I'm grateful for you all being out there. I usually feel like an outsider, like there's no one in the world like me. But apparently there are quite a few of you out there who don't like to fill your minds with violence, bad language, and emotional cruelty. I think all my favorite authors have been mentioned by one or another of you. Except perhaps Nancy Bond (Another Shore is my favorite), Leander Watts, and Karen Cushman (though her books are aimed at younger kids, maybe 8-10 year olds). For anyone who's interested, Gene Stratton Porter's books can often be found in used bookstores, usually with adult books.
