Sales on the first two books in the series have been good and steadily rising. I sold over 200 for the first time last month. The new book has only sold a few yet, but I'm still getting the word out.

Goodreads, the Amazon boards (mostly the Shameless Self-Promotion type threads), and tagging, plus the social media things like Twitter. Getting reviews, especially from well-known bloggers like Red Adept are worth their weight in gold.

I'm trying to get some reviews. I've also been on threads and stuff, but am a bit shy about the shameless promotion stuff. I guess I gotta get over that. I'm trying hard!

What it could do is result in Amazon making it tougher for authors to sell. This is nothing less than vandalism similar to a juvenile mentality spray painting the side of a bookstore. It has no effect on book rankings nor does it influence purchasing decisions by prospective readers - except to perhaps scare them away.
Amazon tags are intended to guide buyers searching for specific genres.

As I understand it, Larry, tagging does have an indirect effect on book rankings in that the more a book is tagged the more visible it is ergo the greater potential for sales. I'm happy to be corrected if anyone knows otherwise
