February:

March:

Sci Fi theme
No one from the GR team has responded in the feedback threads about the broken group broadcaster, so the vote count for the Feb theme poll is still pretty low. Hopefully they'll get that fixed before we start nominations and voting for the book so that more people can be aware of it.

Regardless of the small number of votes, the theme World Fantasy Award Nominee from 2000-present won by a large margin. Since we're working from a set number of books to nominate, I'll take the first 8 books that are nominated and then seconded and put them in a poll.
The list is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Fa...
As soon as 8 are nominated/seconded, this nomination process will close.

The Novella, Anthology, and Collection categories are valid as well right?
In any case, I nominate Territory by Emma Bull.

May I second Territory by Emma Bull? I've heard great things.

I'll second Perdido Street Station. I think of it whenever I see that commercial with the moth flying over the sleeping city. shivers...

Territory by Emma Bull
Perdido Street Station by China Mieville
Ysabel by Guy Gavriel Kay
Curse of the Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold
Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson
Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
We need two more. Great picks so far!

Julia, the Wikipedia page says that Briar Rose was nominated in 1993, which makes it earlier than the scope of the theme, which is 2000-present.
So the update is:
Declare by Tim Powers has been nominated, needs a second
Or, nominate something else for the final 2 spots.

I'll second Declare.

Wouldn't mind seeing one of those Graham Joyce books nominated either *hint* *hint*

Perdido Street Station by China Mieville
Ysabel by Guy Gavriel Kay
Curse of the Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold
Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson
Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
Declare by Tim Powers
Do we have a second for Ombria in Shadow? Or a different nomination? Whatever wins, it looks like we're going to have an excellent book picked for Feb.

Thanks for nominating guys, I'll get the poll set up and hopefully the limited poll invite and the notice here will be enough to alert people that it's time to vote.

Voting runs through the 30th - I'm hoping that the group broadcast will be fixed before, but we'll have to make do for now.
