Ryan | 5334 comments I have to disagree with you, Guy - I've got a Bluetooth keyboard for my iPad and I have been writing more than ever because of it. The whole iOS idea seems to make more sense to me than Microsoft ever has. I just use Pages and cannot fault it. It almost inspires me enough to try a novel completely written on the iPad...

message 1253: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Mind you, I've never been normal ;o)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Happy Halloween!

I checked out a video review of the alienware laptop on Youtube. Wow. I doubt if anything could get cooler than that!

message 1255: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Ryan, I have considered the bluetooth keyboard thing for it, but haven't made the leap. A big part of my writing is going between screens - references of various sorts and I like the ability to be able to see easily them and my writing page.

Happy Halloween!

Thank you :]

How is everyone doing this fine morning? M, got your coffee yet?? I've made a pot.

message 1257: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Cheyenne! It’s never too late to refill the cup. I hope it’s strong.

Alex, I take it you didn’t do well on your statistics test.

message 1258: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Al! Don't say that for it is blatantly untrue. And, far, FAR worse, it will compel me into uncontrollably giving you what has been called by the people around me the dreaded SHOULD WORD LECTURE . Mwaaahaaaahaaaahaaa.

At even the smallest proof of you have success, look at the WSS and what you bring to it.

message 1259: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments The W.S.S. seems such obvious proof, to me, of Alex’s success that I didn’t mention it for fear of stating the obvious. Now I’m dying to hear Guy’s lecture. Maybe it will help me!

message 1260: by Guy (last edited Oct 31, 2012 05:12PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Sigh! Now that I've been asked for it, my piss and vinegar has turned to whine! LoL.

I can't do that in a public thread. Instead of lecturing, how about another hug? Big hug.

Now, sip your coffee and luxuriate in its richness. Hmmm. Now I'm pretending to be your doctor?! Sheesh.

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Oh man, can't wait for tomorrow!

message 1262: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments ??? What happens tomorrow?

message 1263: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Alex, is everything alright? I am late to the conversation, as always. If it's the stats test, don't worry about it. I am confident that you'll do well next time around. You were born to be a writer, so this is an inconsequential, minor bump in the road.

message 1264: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yeah, M! Tomorrow is November first; the first day of NaNoWriMo.

message 1265: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Ah, the great NaNoWriMo. Y'all have fun with that. I'll be busy arguing with fellow geeks about the pros and cons of Disney writing another Star Wars trilogy.

message 1266: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Good luck to all y'all attempting it.

message 1267: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I'll think about it. But getting a lecture when you're feeling down is likely not appropriate.

And, even if I wanted to lecture, tonight I have a story to write. It's not good for a writing competition to have a winner by default! And I think I have an interesting idea.

message 1268: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments There's only one story this week? I should really get back into the main part of this group sometime. I'm just really busy trying to pull this novel and at least ten short stories together before the end of the year.

message 1269: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments “Macabre” is a great Halloween topic. I figured there would be an avalance of stories!

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments M wrote: "“Macabre” is a great Halloween topic. I figured there would be an avalance of stories!"

I would assume so too.

message 1271: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Still thinking about it! No lecturing allowed when people are feeling down: a personal rule. Now, back to the story!

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I heard Disney bought Lucas Arts today, Edward. Have they said anything about their plans for it? My younger brother was all distraught about it.

message 1274: by M (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Stephanie wrote: "I heard Disney bought Lucas Arts today, Edward. Have they said anything about their plans for it? My younger brother was all distraught about it."

Only that there will be a third Star Wars trilogy, to start in 2015 and be released every other year. George Lucas will not lead the project, but will be kept on as a creative consultant (which may actually be a good thing). They haven't said what story lines they will follow.

message 1276: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Okay, now that is funny! And, perhaps, even macabre, too! LoL.

message 1277: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Heh heh heh.

I'm wavering between feeling like he looks like and dreaming about the good possibilities. I keep thinking about Mara Jade, but telling her story would necessitate recasting everyone including Han Solo, which would be awful.

message 1278: by Kymela (new)

Kymela (kymelatejasi) | 674 comments I can't stand the fact that George Lucas sold his company. HOW COULD YOU, GEORGE?! :'(

It's public record that George Lucas is insane.

Agreed.

Wow. A third trilogy? Crazy. But I guess there's still plenty of money to be made off of Star Wars.

message 1281: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Unless they're fans of the EU and are very optimistic people. Then they'll try episode seven.

message 1282: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments I've just pulled the cork out of a 1999 Penfolds St Henri Shiraz and I'm pouring you all a glass so you can help me celebrate the birth of my second little boy - Luca. So, cheers to you all :o)

message 1283: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Cheers, Ryan!

message 1286: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Ryan, I like the name Luca. Does it mean 'bringer of light'? Sorry if I'm wrong.

message 1287: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments I think that was one of the meanings, Ajay. I went with it because I loved it and i thought it went well with my other son's name - Jude..

message 1288: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Yup, it does go well with his brother's name. Jude and Luca. Wonderful.

message 1289: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Man, I think I'd forgotten how much fun and work writing can be all at the same time.

message 1292: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments It's going great. I've almost written 3,000 words today.

message 1293: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Haha. I haven't even showered yet, which is kind of bad because I have to baby sit again in about three hours. That means I have to call it quits at probably around 3:30-4.

message 1294: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Stephanie wrote: "It's going great. I've almost written 3,000 words today."

Wow. I usually don't bother writing more than two thousand, unless I get really caught up in a short story.

message 1295: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Congratulations Ryan! Thanks for the wine, one that I have enjoyed in the past. Bien venue to Luca, and welcome to our wild and wacky sanatorium. LoL!

message 1296: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Congratulations, Ryan!

message 1297: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I'm trying to write 80 thousand this month so I have to write at least 2667 every day. My goal was to reach 10 thousand today but I needed a break.

message 1298: by Kymela (new)

Kymela (kymelatejasi) | 674 comments Omedetou, Ryan!

I've only written about 50 words today. I write very slowly. XP

It's really annoying to have a bug in the latch for your computer screen biting your wrist while typing and researching.

message 1299: by Ryan (new)
