I'm Margaret, and I grab a chance to read anywhere, anytime, and anyplace I can. I have a wide range of genres I enjoy, and a Kobo full of romances! One of my favourite books is Remembrance, by Jude Deveraux.

I've been a member of the group for several years, but have been on a GoodReads hiatus for the past 2 or so. I figured it was about time to reintroduce myself. I've since had a beautiful daughter who has special needs, and any extra time I have has been dedicated to reading. Haven't had much time to keep up with the boards! My current favorite books are Wrong and Right by Jana Aston.
Is there a Discord for this group?

Welcome back, Rebecca! I did something similar myself back in 2011, so I understand what it's like to come back to GR!
OMG, book groups actually have Discords?!? I wish I knew where to find them, I'm on Discord all the time! Our group doesn't have a Discord server, unfortunately, to answer your question, but I love the idea!

I wish I could find some more Discord servers. I'm only in one other book club one (that I just joined today) and one for a podcast that is on hiatus and therefore the discord is now read-only :(

I'm in a ton, but mostly they're for World of Warcraft, although one does have a channel dedicated to talking about book recommendations!
I know you said you have a special needs kiddo at home, but do you play anything like World of Warcraft? Might be a good way to get to know some other folks. You can always PM me, I'll share my Discord tag with you and we can chat books that way.

I have no idea how to play WOW but I see it talked about online a lot. I'm not great with games like that, I'm afraid.

Hi Shell Schroth! My name is Cayt Lawson (avid reader/author). I just joined this group. I am unfamiliar with this site and, well groups in general, haha. I saw your post under introductions and thought you might be someone great to chat books with. I, too, prefer mostly historical fiction with a dash of romance. I'm a "romantic comedy/drama" kinda girl, haha. I feel like the line between romance and erotica keeps shrinking! Seems like all my favorite historical romance authors are filling up pages with "more steamy scenes". I didn't mean to come on here and complain, though. I just have felt like the odd one out with this opinion, so when I read your post, I thought, Hey!? Kindred spirit maybe? :)
Have you read Far Away Home by Susan Denning? I really enjoyed the story and history written into her book! :)

Welcome, Penelope! We're so glad you found your way over here!

Welcome, Cindy!! We're so glad you decided to check us out!

I now own my very first Kindle and have no clue why I resisted for so long! My hubby got it for me as an early Christmas gift which I guess shows he knows me better than I know myself. Of course now I have more books than I can probably even read in 2020, but at least they aren't taking up tons of space!
Let's see... I am married, two grown children (one moved out, one at home going to college), I work part-time and we have my MIL living with us now as well.
Looking forward to taking part in some discussions and challenges and I'd love some more Goodreads friends if anyone wants to send a request.

Welcome, TC! I too read Johanna Lindsey at an early age, and was saddened to hear of her passing. The Mallory novels were something I looked forward to from her, and I loved how big the family got! We're so glad you found your way over to us! Don't hesitate to message if you have any questions!

I'm excited to find this group. I've joined up with Goodreads because I suddenly realised what a reading slump I'm in. I just seem to go between Nalini Singh, Ilona Andrews, Molly Harper and Kristen Ashley books these days. I'm also in a slump when it comes to my crafts I made myself a promise - 2020 I was going to make a very deliberate effort to read, quilt, knit and camp/hike more.
So I've made myself a blog to keep myself accountable and went searching for an interesting yearly reading challenge. That's when I found your groups Date Location challenge. Can't wait to join in.
And TC, there's a friend request coming your way because I'd love some Goodread friends as well!

Welcome, Threads! Glad to hear that you're eager to start our Date Location challenge (AKA the Alphabet Dates challenge)! We hope you enjoy it! Feel free to ask any questions!

Loving the group btw - it's great!!!

There is not one, unfortunately. I've noticed that they don't usually get a lot of traction, or wind up being just a dumping ground for every book that the main participants had read on that day, week, month, etc. Just wasn't a lot of discussions happening, sadly.
That being said, we do have a "Would you recommend it?" thread in the group, but it's more for the really exceptional or really horrible books you've read. You can find it HERE.

Welcome, Blurry! We're glad you found your way over to us!
I've never heard of bully romances! I shall have to do more research on them...but thank you for sharing a new sub-genre for us! Gives us something new to feature!

Welcome, Maggie! We're glad you found your way over to us! Hopefully we'll be able to indulge your desire for book discussions!

I'm Diana! I adore books in general but am on a romance kick for sure right now!
I also just published my debut novel and would love for anyone to take a look!

looking forward to getting to discuss books with all of you!

I am Scarlett and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I love pretty much all sub-genres of Romance (though I must admit I've had a bit too much Paranormal lately, so have decided to stay away from that a little bit).
I self-published my debut romantic suspense this month - Once Bytten. Here's a little blurb:
Fleeing a controlling husband, Ella meets the bossy and protective James. But is he her dream come true or is he the greatest danger she's ever faced?
I've also entered the March 2021 Most Anticipated Romance Release :-). I know...rather ambitious...but here I am and would love some support. If you could vote for Once bytten - that'd be awesome!

Hi Hector,
Nice to meet you! TBH, I haven't seen much action since I've been here. There's not a lot of engagement. But that's just one opinion :-) - I haven't been able to get much in the way of interaction on any of the groups on GoodReads. I hope you have a better experience.

None, really. You're only allowed to promote your books in the Author Announcements folder, located HERE. We no longer do Group or Buddy Reads, and only one challenge is posted a month, so there would not be promotion of the book from the Mod Team. Sadly, most of the Mod Team has moved on from the group, it seems, and my own efforts are meant solely to keep the group limping along, should they return, as my ideas for new challenges are not well received. I wish you luck with your book release, but highly recommend you seek out other groups to spread the word about it.
