Hi everyone! I'm Vi from Singapore - followed Lisa Kay and a few other to this group - even though I totally don't need another challenge group. I'm excited to see all the Buddy Reads. It's gonna be so much fun!
Great, Jenny! Welcome to the group. ☺ Definitely no pressure here! You'll find we have challenges at many different levels (and many of us don't finish - Real Life gets in the way!) We also like to help you search for something in a challenge - whether it is for this group's challenges or not.If you have any questions, please let me know. You might want to start with the Newsletter and GoodReads How To... But, I'll be glad to jump in.
Hi, everyone, I'm Donna. I'm just getting back into reading after I got myself a Kindle and accessible books! I love challenging myself with different genres, but a good romance gets me every time! My favorite reads this year have been One Day, Time Traveler's Wife and 1000 Splendid Suns. I call lots of places home. In the States it's currently Maryland, but I'm physically in Saudi Arabia right now.
Welcome, Donna! So members are getting ready to do a "buddy read" of
starting Jan. 30th; you could pop in and say, "Hi!" Here is the
link
.
Hi, My name is Monica and I am from Pine Bluff, Arkansas. I am so excited about this group!!! My favorite author is Beverly Jenkins and she wrote a great book called Indigo that is my all time favorite book.
Oh, yes. They have that book on audio at my public library... I was thinking of listening to it for my Color Wheel challenge. Looks good.
Welcome Monica! Have a look around the group and don't hesitate to ask any questions, someone here's always happy to help out :-)
Hi all. I am a stay at home mom in Denver, CO. I love reading Paranormal Romance and Historical Romance, but I am up for anything as long as there is a mostly happy ending (I despise series with cliffhangers). I discovered this group through all Lisa Kays posts. I finnaly had to stop lurking and join so I could comment. I am a complete challenge addict. I am pretty good at finishing them. I currently have about 70 that I am doing. My challenge is how to make all the challenges line up together.
Dawn! You found us! ☺ So neat! And welcome! We're pretty good at making suggestions for books you're looking for to fulfill a challenge. Or maybe you can help one of us hunt something down.
70 current challenges!!!! Wow! LOL, as the group name suggests, you might be on your own in that number, but we do have a few challenge addicts here. *points to self, and Lisa Kay, and Heather, and Susan, (twice) and then stops pointing fingers, cos that's just rude.*
A big Welcome to you, Dawn!

I know, I think the group name kept me lurking longer than normal, I am anything but impaired in the challenge arena.
Well Dawn, I can only hope it rubs off on me. So many books, so little time, seems to be my motto. Mind you, I'd get more reading time if I got off the computer, but where's the fun in that?
Hey CaroB, or anyone from Australia, I have a question. I’m reading a book set “down under”. Do you call a counter a “bench”? Here in the states a bench is a seat. In this book, everyone keeps reaching for drinking glasses and dishes, etc. that are left on a “bench” – seems a little low down for those items, so I thought I’d ask if that was the word for countertop.
Hi Lisa Kay. Yep, we have a bench-seat and a bench-top (which is like a counter or work-table) and use the term interchangeably to just mean a flat area to put things on (bums included ☺ ) I have kitchen benches in my housem instead of kitchen counters and the back bench is a large desk space by my back door that is where all the mail and bags and odd socks end up. HTH!
Anywhere you want to put that is the right place, Heather, LOL! Love, love, LOVE hockey! (He is carrying skates, ladies, in case **coughcough** you didn't notice!)
Yeah, she's done better. Of course, I only read the first one. But like, Jenny, this cover makes me want to give it another try.
Hi there! My name is Jessica Roberts and I'm the author of a new YA Romance novel, REFLECTION. It's a sweet, spicy college romance with a twist.
(Summary below!) Thanks! Glad to be here!
Bright, spunky Heather Robbins has escaped her small hometown and is anxiously beginning her freshman year of college. Rising above her rocky childhood, she’s found a place where good things are finally starting to happen: her own private apartment, refreshing college classes, and an intense attachment to a mysterious and rugged classmate, Nick Richards.
But when her dreamy college life turns out to be nothing more than a wonderful dream while resting in a coma, questions threaten.
Now, Heather must press forward to unlock the real past, and find the answers buried deep in her mind. What she unlocks instead is a roller coaster ride through flashbacks, embellished memories, and a whirlwind romance.
And when it’s all over and she comes face to face with the truth, will she lose everything she’s fallen in love with?

Hi, I have known about GR's for a while I just can't remember the last time I was on. Although, it is probably in front of my eyes, I can't find the Admin Rules. Can someone give me a hint, then I will introduce myself. Thanks
Hmmmm… that is a very good question, Susan. I’ve done a search and I’m not sure what happened to them. The original moderator is away on Personal Leave right now, so let the rest of us (the remaining moderators) put our heads together and come up with something. For now, I would say:
◈ Please observe common courtesies. (Respect others’ opinion, etc.)
◈ If you are an author, put your latest book (or promotional information)
under a new topic in the Author Announcements Folder.
◈ If you want to promote your blog and a Giveaway, go to Blog Promotions Folder.
◈ If you don’t know how to do this, check out our GoodReads How To… section,
Add a New Topic to a Folder…
◈ This is an adult group, so expect those topics and the language that goes with them;
however, there is really nothing XXX-rated here.
◈ While we do use adult language, please do not direct it towards anyone. If you do so,
it will be flagged and reported. The same applies for anyone who is being too
aggressive or needlessly excessive.
I guess Sashana and I are going to have to work on building that challenge. ☺ The things we go through for you, LOL!
