If you want long and awesome, I'd try Tamora Pierce. Technically, each of her series is at most four books long, but she's got two worlds, each with multiple interconnecting series. (Currently, Tortall has five and Emelan has three)

Alot of these are really good, i've read alot of the series. My top three would be Harry Potter, The Inhertince Cycle, and Maximum Ride. I plan to try some more of these amy sugestions on where to start?

I did not spell it right the fist time (sorry) the full series tittle is The Inheritance Cycle. It is written by Christphoer Paolini and there are three books with a fourth releasing in nov 2011. There is rumored to be a fifth or even sixth books also. The series is about a teenage boy who finds a dragon egg and becomes the first dragon rider in a long time. He goes on a search for (cant excatly rember it was a while ago that i read them but will read them all again before reading the fourth installment) and evetually becomes a proper dragon rider to defeat the evil king. anyways if you like Harry Potter or books with magical worlds I think you woul really like these.

The first is Saphira followed by Eldest, Brinsinger and the fouth which I dont know the tittle of. They are all really good and set in Eargons(boy) home country Alagaesia. Hope you enjoy them. Please keep me posted.

Not particularly. I read all of Eragon and some of Eldest but I sort of lost interest after Eldest. I just remembered seeing the title and cover on here somewhere.

I tried reading it before and I couldn't get past the prologue- then when I went back I got through it.

Some books require a certain mindset or a certain age. But I personally think most of the book is way better than the prologue/beginning.

Honestly, I skipped the prologue in those books because I did not like it.

And most of the time the prologue isn't necessary. I'll be the first to admit that when rereading HP 4 (Goblet of Fire), I always skip the first chapter- it's basically a prologue and i remember just about everything that happens in it.

@Rae: same here unless the prlouge is actually super important i dont read it (i once read a proluge and it spoiled the book for me).

That's...........extremely odd. Do you remember what book it was?
And I only read the prologue (generally) the first 2 or so times I read a book.

No, not really it was scifi though. Now on the writtings here i read them because i am critiquing or they aren't boring.

I always read the prologue. To me, it sets up the whole book. It reminds me of Syfy movies where the giant monster eats people up, and then they introduce you to the main charries and such.

I normally read the prologue, but if I've reread the book about a million times then I don't read the prologue.

That never seems to be the problem with me. I have such good memory of all the books I read, that I haven't reread a book more than twice.

I remember the books I read for the most part, but I love rereading- you catch more details and if the book's really good then I can get lost in the story again.

I agree! But I have to limit myself because there are so many other books I have to get read :)

Yeah, I don't get to reread as much as I would like, but right now I'm rereading one of my all-time favorites, Ella Enchanted.

The movie sucks in comparison. It's like completely different from the book- of course, that's a somewhat good thing because since they are so different, I can enjoy both movie and book.

I watched the movie first and loved it, then I read the book and was like "Woah." THey're extremely different.

If your library has a Young Adult/Teen section, it'll most likely be in there, but it might be in the children's section- libraries are organized differently for YA and MG fiction.
