Ummm.... lets see... I don't know really what I can say without giving away things because it is one of those books that explains as it goes... Here is the synopsis on the back of the book:

Okay, yeah it makes sense if it is hard to explain without spoiloing it. It gives you a background. It actually sounds like the Hunger Games to me a little bit, which makes me intrested. Iv'e read his other books the Alcatraz series so I will probably try these, thanks!

Ya now that you mention it it kinda is sort of like a hunger games type style.... except they have powers. Its really good. I just found out that (if you live in the U.S.) you can buy the boxed set of all 3 for like $17

I'd like to add the St. Petersburg quartet by Gloria Whelan (Angel on the Square, Impossible Journey, Burying The Sun, the Turning)

I don't know if we should add them under series or childrens, the amazon review reccomened them for children 12 & up however I read them when I was 10 and I was just fine, I am now almost 17 and as with all Gloria Whelan's books they are just as great now as they were when I was a preteen

That's what happened to me with the Redwall and Guardians of Ga'Hoole series. The books are just too similar.

The same with the Clique series (by Lisi Harrison) the last few books seem to repeat themselves and you find yourself wondering, 'is this ever gonna end?'but at least her next one (which comes out in february) is gonna be the last one

katharine kerr - the deverry cycle, if you like celtic high fantasy (16 books - older teens)

I went to Barnes & Noble last week (I could live there I love it so much) and I saw that book on the shelf. I scanned through it and was like, "Got to read this!"

It was one of the books my 3rd grade teacher read aloud to us. Not only did every single one of us cry, but so did my teacher. Mind you, he (yes, he) had been teaching for 16 years and had read the book every single year.

Because apparently where I live it is abnormal to have male elementary school teachers, especially those who cry. So whenever I reference this particular teacher, people are like, "Don't you mean she?" No, people. I don't.

I get what you mean, Taylor. We only had two male elementary school teachers, and they both taught fourth grade. They were two of the best in the school though. (There was also a third grade one, but he retired the year before I got there.)

It wasn't until middle school that we started to really have male teachers, but even then, and even now in high school, the majority are female.

The uglies series is okay so far. Have you read all of them? I have read the first two but uglies was the best. I have been meaning to get the others but I couldn't find it at the shop and honestly, I don't care as much as I did before what happens. You should read The Secret Hour. It is also by him and is a different genre of book but I liked it better. I read it last week.

I would also recommend Paranormalcy. I read it a few weeks ago and it was really good. It was better than I thought it would be. I stayed up to 1am reading it and I only do that with my favourite books.

I sobbed. My 3rd grade teacher read it to us out loud. He had read it every year for 16 years and he still cried every time. I had to go to the next door classroom to ask for another box of tissues because so many of us were crying.
