I have heard of the ooks Sonette, they are supposed to be quite good and along the lines of Gossip Girl but set in the 1800's.

I heard that Kristen Stewardt,Pattinson and Lautner are getting a wopping $25 million dollars each for breaking dawn!!

Sigh i know i have become one of those people who read tons of books at the same time and never finishes them :P

I wonder if that is for both movies?

message 311: by Emma (new)

Emma (emmauk007) | 1081 comments Yes it would be terrible if it was only for 1 movie wouldnt it ;-) lol What a ridiculous amount of money. Mind you I wonder how much the Twilight Franchise has earned to date? What with books and merchandise must be millions!! I am sure they can spare a few dollars.

message 312: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Yea i'm sure the franchise makes enough money to pay them :)

Finished Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5) by Richelle Mead (brillaint as always!)

Reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë , Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter, #3) by J.K. Rowling , Breaking Dawn (Twilight, #4) by Stephenie Meyer and starting Wings (Wings, #1) by Aprilynne Pike soon

Emma (emmauk007) | 1081 comments Starting this book today, been waiting for it for ages.

Twice Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #3) by Chloe Neill

This is great series by the way.

message 314: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok so this is what I'm reading

Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5) by Richelle Mead , Edward and Alexandra Their Private and Public Lives by Richard Alexander Hough , Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

message 315: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I'm reading City of Glass by Paul Auster.

Weird, but really interesting so far: the main character writes crime novels in secret, but he doesn't know anything about crime except what he's read in other crime novels.

Right now he's pretending to be a man called Paul Auster... so the character is pretending to be the author who wrote him. Weird... I love this kind of stuff.

message 316: by [deleted user] (new)

Sounds interesting, and sounds like a good read!
Tell me how it goes...

message 317: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Will do :)
I'm hoping to finish it in time to add it to the word of the month challenge. It's short but I've been a restless reader lately.

message 318: by [deleted user] (new)

I forgot about the word of the month again...
Thanks for reminding me :)

Lauren Smith Niecole wrote: "Sounds interesting, and sounds like a good read!

At the beginning of City of Glass I was looking forward to a 5-star novel. Unfortunately, the things that I found most interesting petered out and the book became too much about the narrator. There was an idea about the tower of babel, finding utopia through the language of God/language of Eden. Admittedly, the guy who had this idea was nuts, but I would have preferred if the plot made something more out of it.

The ending was weird. I think I'll have to read it again. I gave it four stars because the interesting parts made up for the slightly boring bit just before the end.

The Immortals was a book that had alot of promise and hype, but I really didnt like them Lauren. They didnt capture me and after having read the first one I wasnt filled with an overwhelming urge to complete the series.

I was a bit confused by your post Emma, so I googled the Immortals and City of Glass. The novel I read is not from that series, it's City of Glass by Paul Auster, the first book in his New York trilogy. All the books are different takes on the mystery/detective story, and they're all set in New York.

Forgot to mention that even though I didn't like the ending of the first book, I'm looking forward to the other two.

Lu that Sugar Cookie Murder sounds good...

Emma, I'm reading it very slowly, like really about 8 pages a day, so I'm understanding it a bit better.
My BF told me they are making it into a movie, Daniel Craig to play the lead, still looking for the girl

Just wondered if you had watched the series on MNET Lu of Flash Forward? I did watch a few episides then for some reason I got bored with it. I wonder if the book is like the series.

message 340: by Lu (new)

I watched about half of the series, but then I couldn't anymore. As far as I have it, the series was based on the book :)

Emma (emmauk007) | 1081 comments Currently reading for the challenge

The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1) by Rick Riordan

I was one of the few who could not get into the Percy Jackson series, I only read about 40 pages but I gave up. I am not having that problem with this book though. First page has got me hooked. Will be reviewing this shortly.

message 342: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Hmm, I should check out the Percy Jackson series, as I'm doing a mythology course at the moment, and I want to read more mythology-themed books in general.

Otherwise, I'm reading the last book in the His Dark Materials series: The Amber Spyglass, and a book on religious philosophy - Why I Am Not a Christian & Other Essays on Religion & Related Subjects by Bertrand Russell, for an essay and general interest.

I just adore The Lovely Bones. I didnt, however, enjoy the film. Peter Jackson isnt as great at interpreting drama as he is at high action films.

I haven't read the last one yet, but to me unless things pick up dramatically in the third one, the trilogy was good at best. It had some very interesting twists and turns, but personally I think the hype around the series is a bit too much.

I'm not sure, Lu! I'm going to be away for the next two weekends and have a crazy work week, so it might be a while.

I see you're reading Flash Forward -- I didn't know that the tv series was based on a book! (Then again, most good movies are!)
