1 Star because they really are terrible. And shameful because everyone else's textbooks looks so interesting and mine are about accounting/auditing/commercial law. They make me feel boring.

ok, if they are terrible than it's ok to give them 1 star. Don't worry about the books making you feel boring we know you're not boring and that's what counts. And I must say not all the books I read for college were exciting. I had to read books about how to properly conduct research and philosophical texts about what science is. I also had to read books about how to write articles and stuff like that. I think everyone has books like that in their past or future depending how far along they are with their studies. And besides I like books about law, I find them fascinating. I always try to find loopholes and stuff.

I wish I could add articles from journals/periodicals! That'd be awesome, especially since I only read the ones that interest me now :)

I am reading Valeria's Last Stand by Marc Fitten... It really is a wonderful read. Beautifully set out and surprisingly gripping!

I read The Replacement too, but it was slightly disappointing. I think the hype at the time was just too much and made me have high expectations.

I'm reading Tomorrow, When the War Began. It's really good so far.

Ah I had no expectations going into it. It is very different than what I was expecting too. It could be more fleshed out but still loving it!

I loved the Tomorrow when the War Began series. The movie was pretty good too.

I'm reading an unusual sci fi novel - Nekropolis by Maureen McHugh. It's set in a future Islamic state that hasn't experienced any cultural changes, so it's still extremely conservative, women and men don't mix, although there are some technological advances. A servant girl falls in love with a male cyborg, but because he's an AI it's debated whether or not he can be considered male, although, physically he is one.

Currently reading Hex Hall and liking it a lot, even though it is definately younger than most YA I read. Sort of Meg Cabotish.

I loved Hex Hall. It's young, but not the kind of young that makes cringe every other page.

I'm just not really in the mood for something that's meant for children, and I'm not too fond of reading stories set in a school. I like YA, but I find that my preference is for older novels (like the Narnia series), but either way it's something I need to be in the mood for.

I know the White Queen isn't something you would normally read, but it's a bit older and also involves true history (although Phillipa Gregory does put in fiction as well, which makes the read easier)

I picked up this book about a year ago and for some reason I couldnt get into it. Probably not the right time, but at the moment I am in the mood for intelligent books with strong plots and great characters. A game of Thrones has really ruined my reading as I want to read more books like that, and this book is enjoyable. So sometimes those books that you put down are not necessarily bad books.

I'm way behind with my reading. Haven't managed to ready much of anything this weekend since I've got a deadline to adhere to. Just busy adding final touches to the proofs and then I can have some blissful reading time.

I'm currently busy with Dauntless. Quite an enjoyable military sci-fi series that reminds me strongly of Battlestar Galactica.

I'm sick and not reading much of anything. Got back from Vienna and on my first day back I fell sick with the flu and a head cold. Not nice at all. Trying to read the mediator series. Very easy and simple books and can be used for TDRC but can't focus on them most of the time. That is also why I haven't been telling yet of all my adventures and posting photos. Had a great time though. Will tell more later.

Emma - Push through with Pillars of the Earth. I couldn't get a hang on it for the first third of the book, but my husband just encouraged me to go for it. I'm so glad I did, because later on I got totally hooked. And now Ken Follett is my favourite author!! World Without End and Fall of Giants are excellent. I'm trying to read all of his books now ... :)

Finished reading Dauntless by Jack Campbell. I don't normally read military sci-fi, but this one was very good. It's only 293 pages long (my copy) and I found myself rationing the pages so I don't finish too quickly. I'm definitely going to be checking out the rest of the Lost Fleet series.

Now I'm busy with a re-read of Old Man's War by John Scalzi in preparation for tackling the rest of the OMW series. I still think OMW has one of the best opening chapters I've read in a long while.

I'm still reading Deathstalker. I'm only halfway through because I've been pretty busy and this is a long novel, but frankly it's getting embarrassing now. And Goodreads has pointed out that I'm 8 books behind my reading challenge for the year :(

Ha, ha. I can see how you could make that mistake. It definitely stands for the Old Man's War series. I'm lucky my Goodreads gadget says I'm doing a wonderful job by being 15 books ahead of schedule.

I finished "A Map of the World" by Jane Hamilton - yes, indeed very depressing and emotional - but it was an excellent read. She really knows how to use words to describe raw feelings. Last night I started with "As the Crow Flies" by Jeffrey Archer. I've read one of his other books - a real page-turner - like watching a movie. I may just become a fan, but Ken Follett will always be Number One for me. :)
