I loved the Gena Showalter's Lord of the Underworld series so I say go for Darkest Night

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) I'm about 100 pages into Faith Hunter's Skinwalker--so far so good, lots of mysteries since she doesn't even really know what she is. It's the 1st book of a new series, so you have a lot of set-up as is normal in a 1st book, so I'm still waiting for it to grab me--hopefully soon. :)

Skinwalker (Jane Yellowrock, #1) by Faith Hunter

message 4204: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) | 97 comments I'm almost done with Shadowlight by Lynn Viehl. After that's over...I really don't know what I'll read! I have J.R. Ward's Covet in my Kindle, as well as Sherrilyn Kenyon's Born of Night. Not sure which direction to go.

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 511 comments After finishing Club Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #3) by Charlaine Harris last night, just started Covet (Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward .

I'm still waiting on Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #7) by J.R. Ward coming out in paperback in the UK

message 4206: by ஐAndreaஐ (new)

ஐAndreaஐ (rosesrrblue) | 707 comments I started reading Shadowland (The Immortals, #3) by Alyson Noel & Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #7) by J.R. Ward last night. Avenged is the last DBD for long :( I'm sad to read it so I may put it off for a lil while.

message 4207: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I tried to read Covet, got about 100 pages in and just couldn't finish it. I'll have to come back to it later. Finished Embrace the Night and now am reading Curse the Dawn by Karen Chance. I really like this series.

message 4208: by ஐAndreaஐ (new)

ஐAndreaஐ (rosesrrblue) | 707 comments Why couldn't you finish it? what's wrong with it?

message 4209: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I thought the 7 soul premise and the angels playing croquet was different. And then the dark side picking him when he's not really a bad guy. Him asking that other guy to dinner instead of coffee which would seem more appropriate (as you can see I remember no ones name). I kept going UGH - not believable. Of course, the books I read are pretty much fantasy anyway so what am I talking about. I had to make myself keep reading it. I'll come back later after I've read a few more books and maybe I'll change my mind.

message 4210: by ஐAndreaஐ (new)

ஐAndreaஐ (rosesrrblue) | 707 comments Darn, then I will probably wait too. . . There are so many books to read anyway.

message 4211: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Oops, thought you had read it already. Sorry about the spoilers.

message 4212: by ஐAndreaஐ (new)

ஐAndreaஐ (rosesrrblue) | 707 comments lol, no worries. I will forget what you said by the time I read it anyways :)

message 4213: by Tara (new)

Tara | 596 comments I went into Covet expecting to hate it because I heard so many negative things about it and I ended up really liking it.

Anyway, I'm currently reading Nightlife (Cal Leandros, #1) by Rob Thurman and I'm only about 30 pages into it but I am really liking the brothers in it so far.

message 4214: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Tara, did you like it right away or did it take awhile for you to like it? I like her other books pretty much from the start.

message 4215: by Tara (new)

Tara | 596 comments Hmm, I didn't like Dark Lover at the beginning it took a bit to get into it for me. And with Covet, it took a little less time, maybe 50 or 80 pages to really get going, and it went pretty fast because I kept waiting to just be so annoyed that I had to put it down and that didn't happen. I was 200 pages into when I realized that not only did I not hate it, I was enjoying it. It depends on your taste in books. I equally love PNR and UF so, this was definitely much more UF.

I really must go back to this book. I got about 2/3 of the way through and was really enjoying it, but put aside for one reason or another (probably the release of a long-awaited book), but I never finished it.

It took me a while to finish it too. And for some reason, the brother's relationship seemed just a little ... weird ... to me.

I LOVE the Kushiel's Legacy series. It took me a little while to get into it too, but I am so glad I stuck with it. Phedre is one of my favorite characters of all time.

I have the first 4 books sitting on my shelf for over a month now. I was going to finish off Jeaniene Frost series but I'm not loving it right now. Don't know why.. just not. Very tempted to start Keri Arthur instead, after I finised Sherrilyn Kenyon Born of Fire, which I am loving!
