Hi Irene, This is really a GREAT story...much better than the entire Twilight series (if you read Twilight vs Host dialog, you'll see that most people who has read both the Twilight series and Host, agree).

Keep in mind that ALL/EVERY FREAKING ONE OF Stephanie Meyer's books took a LONG time to get off the ground.

Host is no different--it takes about 250 pages before it gets to the point where you wont' be able to put it down.

Just keep repeating...make it through the desert, make it through the desert...

Lol, I did enjoy Twilight very much,(I relate to Bella and her mind very well, like a million other ppl).

The trouble with the Host is, just what you mentioned, very slow start, but also I don't like the idea of 'Aliens" being implemented in our bodies. LOL... Ill have to get over that idea I guess...

Finished and loved it. I thought I had heard somewhere that it was the finale and when I got to the end, I was...WHA? But now that I know it isnt the end, I am happy with the ending and cant wait for the next book. This one was the best so far.

I absolutely loved it, but I have so many things to review I didn't get to bask in Forbidden for long. I think I picked up good books afterward to keep me entertained, but my mind keeps wondering back to Lochan and Maya's story.

I love this series. The first few books do each get better. I was totally hooked by book 3.
