I still read her, but OMG I hated the ending of the Dark Swan series, she sooo could've ended it better than she did, I was completely IRATE over it.

Just picked this up, waiting for the first book...and knowing my overkill, I reserved a bunch of books from this new author.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Finished Iced (Fever #6, Dani O'Malley #1) by Karen Marie Moning had tons of fun but found it a bit flat...maybe FEVER raised the bar too high. That said I loved Dani to pieces.

While waiting for the book, the audiobook Reflected in You (Crossfire, #2) by Sylvia Day has arrived...but ugh... I had to stop even though I'm dying for it. I'll wait for the book.

Have a nice weekend!

LOL Belkis I read Fallen too & NEVER went any further. I actually gave it away to a friend's pre-teen daughter. She's young enough to like it but I HATE y/a although I now have a VERY soft spot for Colleen Hoover & will read any book she write's. It took me ages to get reading Slammed, I was worried I'd have wasted my money but I didn't even hesitate to buy Hopeless

Yeah there are some unbelievably great YA books out there but some really God Awful ones too that's why thank goodness for GR and all of the group discussions. You get the scoop on the good the bad and the horrid LOL! I read everything except horror ;P so my bookshelves are pretty diverse. As long as it's a good book with an interesting story, well developed characters and well written I'm good to go devoid of genre. I like mixing them up so I never get tired :)

message 28413: by Shuling (new)

Shuling Belkis, gotta agree with you. I've never like Fallen at all and can't seem to finish Nightshade even though my friends keep on gushing about how great they are. And for a while, I even started doubting about my own self. I mean, my friends even put it like if you're a teenager, you should like them. But I never do. And now? I guess I am normal after all. (:

Estelle (E) (vivelafantasy) | 256 comments See! I had a feeling about Fallen and never bought it. Well, I don't think I will! ;-)

I do like YA books or maybe what GR readers call "New Adult". I realised last year that YA with a touch of darkness (Angelfall, Blood Red Road, Daughter, HungerGame1 (didn't like the others that much)) was what I tend to devore in a day read!

Ahuh, never doubt yourself. I've stopped wasting time on books that either don't grab and keep my attention, don't have appealing characters that you can connect with, or have crappy storylines or no storyline. There are just too many great books out there with great potential waiting to be read for me to waste hours, sometimes days on crappy ones. Not happening LOL! That main character in Fallen, OMG!! I wanted to jump in the book and slap her, for real. The only reason I even started reading it was because it was an angel book and one of my groups had an angel themed monthly challenge and I had the book, which thank goodness I got for free. And even free I don't want it. And let's not get started on Nightshade. And thank the Lord I asked around and read reviews before even attempting Dark Swan. Hell NO! So yeah, trust you're own instinct and go with your own preferences.

Yes totally agree Estelle. There are so many YA and YA Adult that are simply marvelous. Look at all of the Colleen Hoover books. Talk about spectacular! Look at John Green's books, genius! Laini Taylor, HELLO NO WORDS. Veronica Roth. Loads of great books to be read.

I would go with
Once Bitten, Twice Shy (Jaz Parks, #1) by Jennifer Rardin even though I haven't read it. I read Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White last year and didn't like it enough to continue the series.

I'm about halfway through, P.A. I love it,but there's no happy ending for this couple. I can see it coming from a mile away and I'm sure I'll be broken by the end. It's still really good and I think you should give it a shot.

I have to be in the mood for her books because they are long, but I agree, she has such a unique voice. I could recognize her books without her name being on them. She is fun and it comes through in her writing.
