I loved the books and read them 4 times. Twilight had me started reading PNR, can you believe that? a late bloomer, as my sister called me, and now it's non-stop reading to catch up.

I must admit, after Outlander, I started reading multiple books or else I just dropped out the face of the earth to read... I get so drawn into the writing, characters and plot.

I'm not sure about the Alpha book (I haven't heard of it) I read all of Highlander & then started Fever. It helped for when reading Fever, the fae world is described in detail so it helped me to understand Fever better. I still love Highlander though. I had a love/hate relationship with Fever, I am far from patient & it took forever to get answer's to my questions

Shaineinok | 203 comments I'm listening to the audio version of Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet (Charley Davidson, #4) by Darynda Jones
I'm not liking it like the others. In fact Reyes is getting on my last nerve. He feels abusive to me. Such a shame, I dont' know if I'll continue on or not. Plus I was really expecting to see some cohesion with the back story and it's just not there.

I didn't like this as well as the first three either, and I've never gotten all the hype over Reyes. The relationship between he and Charlie seems more obsessive/possessive than 'normal' to me. I personally prefer Garrett.

Christy (christy_kennedy) | 184 comments Finished Lucas (Vampires In America #6) by D.B. Reynolds two nights ago and I must say it was rather disappointing to me. Lucas, himself, was great. Love him and his back story, but what made this book a 3 star and not the usual 5 stars I give this series was the lead female - Kathryn Hunter. I just wanted to wring her neck off throughout the whole book. I found her uninteresting, one dimensional and a real stick up her tail pipe. I could not relate to her at all. Oh well, there is always one book in a series that just does not work and this was it for me. Still the best vamp series out there and D.B. Reynolds rocks this genre..HARD! Anyway, the epilogue was very tasty with Aden(the next book in the series) being introduced and another step to what I see could be an all and out war for the North American Vampires on the horizon.
Now I'm reading Blood Legacy by Marianne Morea , so far it's okay, we'll see where it goes. :)

Since the next book doesn't come out until next year, that is a good strategy. I kind of lost control, one night I was up until 4am. I think the words were blurry, but I kept going!

I spread them out for five months, one book each month, and it was still over much too quickly. But, I also bought the audio version of the first two, so when I need a fix I'll check those out.

message 27544: by Shuling (last edited Nov 30, 2012 06:44AM) (new)

Shuling And here I thought that I am the only one using that strategy. To be honest, it works. But only sometimes. That's why I came up with other plan: save the last book in the series until the next one comes out. Then, plan before reading. For ex, mentally planning that I am going to start this book after I finished this. That's how I manage to survive all these years. Reading nowadays sure need some plannings and strategies. ;)

LOL! Who would have thought it was so complicated! I love finding a series that is completed, and reading straight through. Sometimes I hold off even starting a series because of that (kicking myself now for Downside). Like Moning's Fever series. I'm glad I waited, because those cliffhangers would have killed me!
