Lol, hey my friend. I know long time no see right? So, seeing your post, did you not read them then? My hair dresser was talking about the books (she just started reading them last month) and said they're kinda dark but are good. I wanted to wait until more people I know (& who's taste in books I'm familiar with)read them & see what they think. (Sorry if I'm not making much sense....have been up going on 20hrs.....)

I found that extremely annoying. The inner goddess, lip biting, blushing, puritanical act got old real fast for me.

message 25009: by Marybeth (new)

Marybeth (luvtientl) | 5 comments I am currently reading Dark Desires After Dusk (Immortals After Dark, #5) by Kresley Cole . I read the first 4 IAD books back to back in 2010, but then took a big break and read a lot of UF titles. I'm ready to start finishing out this series so I can finally read the hype that is Lothaire (though I will likely alternate every other IAD book with a UF book to keep things interesting).

Yup! Trying to ignore those parts, but then what am I left with? Ha! I think if there was not such a big deal with these books, I would have put them aside for the annoying parts.

Filled with rich imagery, deep intrigue, suspense, adventure and a beautiful romance this book is sprinkled with a history lesson in magic and alchemy.

Brilliant writing, wonderful world building and characters so completely fleshed out, this book kept me enthralled from beginning to end.

I'm half way through Shadow of Night and agree with everything you said about the quality of the writing, BUT it does seem a little slow after all the faster paced paranormals I've read lately...

Heather (heather_feather) | 19 comments Just finished Heat by R. Lee Smith and I couldn't put it down. It isn't for everyone in that it has several disturbing scenes but it was so well written and I was completely sucked into the story and the characters. It isn't something I would have read normally, but I heard about it on the DBSA podcast and I am glad I ventured waaay out of my comfort zone and picked up this book. It was pretty unforgettable.

This is one of the best "epic" series I've ever read; simply amazing. It has it all; love, murder, spies, espionage, treason ... on and on and above all, it is extremely well written.

I don't like how Guild Hunter was narrated, sorry. Her voice was too low, too slow, more fit for an older more mature character. And you can't differentiate among the characters, disappointed... You know I love this series but I don't know if I will finish the audiobook.
