I actually got Origins in Death for free from the library a few years ago. It was a book they took out of service since they had a couple copies and they were running a summer reading program read and rate 4 books and you got to pick two out of their sale room to keep for free, I picked it up thinking it was a stand-alone book.

message 24719: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (aurorapixi) | 187 comments Since the last time I posted I have finished Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse, #12) by Charlaine Harris which was okay, seems to be headed in the direction I thought after the last book. The ending satisfied me. One Night at the Call Center by Chetan Bhagat This book was absolutely hilarious for the first half and then just got annoying and offensive. Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt this book was sad, but not unexpected since I had seen the movie already. Now I am reading The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff and it is too soon to tell what I think. I am also still reading Dracula by Bram Stoker for my buddy read. Looks like I can read again, it's been a long year but books and I have rekindled our relationship =D Also I got my Grandpa to start reading Tairen Soul and he likes it so far. I also got my aunt to read them. I guess it will be my turn next since I never have, lol.

message 24720: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (aurorapixi) | 187 comments Also my head did not explode from reading two books at once as I thought it would. I have also gotten over my inability to stop reading a book once I've started it, no matter how horrible the book is. It's a great feeling to have lost some of my neurosis. yay =)

Nope not the last person in the world. I have heard so many spoilers I know probably most of the first book but haven't read them. Shhhhhh so much hype I hate it :( I hope they don't make the movie because in my mind the only right people for it are people no one will pick :(

I'm with Jennifer. I have heard so many spoiler about the first book that I'm not at all hyped to get to it. One day, maybe. Currently I'm reading Seraphim by Shelby Reed .

Oh, and @Katya A Fall of Water (Elemental Mysteries Book #4) by Elizabeth Hunter is just amazing! ENJOY!

message 24728: by ~*~JenJenBoBin (new)

~*~JenJenBoBin (readerroo) Before 50 Shades I plan to read

Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) by Sylvia Day

I will try to read 50 Shades before the movie comes out but I am SO sick of hearing everyone saying who they want to play CG alright already dang folks. The author had an idea in her head of what CG looked like I hope they will get as close to that as possible I am just afraid at first folks will be disappointed when they hear who it is (if they go that route which they should) but then again folks are always buggin' no matter whose playing what. I can hear the outcry now ... ugh

Nina (msralways) | 528 comments Finished Seraphim by Shelby Reed just now. Shelby Reed is a magnificent writer and this romance just confirmed it. I read her other romance The Fifth Favor by Shelby Reed , which is much angsty and with a darker subject but good nonetheless. Seraphim was just the cherry on top of the cake. ^^

Exactly. Well, I made a small compromise and ordered a used book instead of a new one. It might take a few more days to be delivered, but it's cheaper. I just have to make sure to read Hard Bitten really, really slowly.
