I loved Vampire Academy. I am just waiting for a few more books to come out before I start Bloodlines. I hate waiting too long for the next in the series to come out. I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying them.

Finished re-reading

and I still love Cassie.

hmm. I really liked her Succubus series and thus the VA series was always on the back of my mind. Is VA required reading before reading the Bloodlines series? I like to read books in order (most of the time), so I would eventually get into this...

Yeah! I can't wait to see what you think!

I would have to say yes Ty. Important characters from the VA series branch off into their own series in Bloodlines but you really need the history of the characters to understand the dynamics of the relationships between them.

This reminds me that I still have to read

As long as it's a good (view spoiler) cliffie... ;)
But yeah, I've been savouring that one! It's been in a stack on my nightstand for a while and I keep patting it lovingly. Now, it was time to reward myself with actually reading it - so I'm re-reading the other ones first... It's like getting together with an old friend, hanging out and having fun! :D["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I wish I had that patience, but I really don't. Once I love a series I always have to have the new book right away.

I love series that make you feel that way! Kate Daniels always does it for me.

Definitely read VA first. I know some people are only reading the bloodlines series, but you'd miss so much backstory. Plus, you'd spoil VA for yourself.

So, I'm desperate for help to find a new addictive series!!
These were a few that were recommended to me but if anyone has a better suggestion to meet my criteria I would love to hear it:
1. Demonica Series
2. Guild Hunter Series
3. Dark-Hunter Series
4. Immortal after Dark
5. Georgia Kincaid
6. Lords of Underworld
Any of these a MUST READ ???
I've already read:
Night Huntress/World-loved it
Fever series- loved it
BDB series- Great
Midnight Breed-Okay
Chicagoland Vampires-loved it but need more intensity
Kate Daniels -loved it but need more intensity
Mercy Thompson- Loved it but need more
Anita Blake-Good not great
Merry Gentry-Good not great
Sookie Stackhouse- Great
That about it for now!!

I remember reading a novel about a lady who had a wreck on the battery in Charleston SC, and ended up meeting a vampire named Michael who turned her. Settings in Beaufort SC as well. She also..."
Was it Glory St. Clair?

I have read or am in the middle of reading 1-4 on your list. They are all great series for different reasons. I would have to say that I am personally partial to the Guild Hunter series.

added to my tbr!
currently reading

Shade's book was alright, my favorite was the next one. I love that series, really need to read her newest release I have it sitting on my bookshelf but I have so much on my stack I am feeling overwhelmed.

of the ones u've listed The Demonica series is probly the most "intense." Guild Hunter is not bad. it just had some ups and downs for me on intensity and interest level. Immortals After Dark are pretty good. they also have more humor in stories. intensity level is about a 3 on a scale of 1-5. the others i haven't read but i hear Georgina Kincaid is really good.
there's a couple i've read and liked, but they aren't as intense as the ones u've read thus far. u might want to check these out at some point.
The Edge series by Ilona Andrews. Book one On the Edge
Nora Roberts' Circle Trilogy. Book one Morrigan's Cross

Thanks for the reply!

Both of Nalini Singh's series: Psy/Changeling and Guild Hunter are must reads for me.
When you talk about INTENSE, are you referring to the amount of romance and/or sex or the level of action?

I guess I would define "INTENSITY" as romance/passion/sex but not when it takes over the entire book. That why I still loved Mercy Thompson, Chicagoland, and Kate Daniels Series but I just wanted a little more romantic passion like in the Night Huntress Series!

I second the Georgia Kincaid series. It's awesome. Not as addictive as Night Huntress (which is my fav) right from book 1 (thought still awesome) by book 5 it was definitely AS addictive. If you liked NH you'll like that.
Also, if you want more passion with your stories

I remember a vampire dog but he was turned by the male lead. That was Gena Showalter's Alien Huntress series though. Wish I could have helped.

Ah!! I should look int them, then!!
I am actually a bit disappointed in this one. It wasn't as awesome as I remember it. Less of a tear jerker, and less kickass - but ... well... there's PRITKIN!! ;)

Honestly, I don't think anything compares to the first series you read. Mine was BDB, and I tend to compare everything to it.

I loved that series--I also only read it for the first time a few weeks ago. It gets better and better with each book.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one that is putting it off, I have one more to reread before I get to Hunt the Moon. I want to get it read before the next Dory comes out in the fall. I'm already signed up for a buddy read for the first two of her books before the new one is released.

It's not required but you'll probably be lost if you read Bloodlines before the Vampire Academy series and it would give away big spoilers from the last book.

It's like what Winnie the Pooh said: 'Although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.'
That's what I'm like with books! Sometimes I put it off, only to have something good to look forward to. I'm such a geek! :D
Do you enjoy Dory as much as Cassie? And a buddy-read? That sounds like fun! :D

Lisa,
Hi, I don't post here much, but I do read it all. When I read that you keep a flow sheet of characters, etc. I could not believe it. I had thought of that for several series that I read, but the task seemed daunting, since I did not start it while I was reading the books! You know, I bet there are lot of people out here that would pay you for copies of those notes on the series that they are reading! I know I would. I hate waiting a year or more for a new book in a series because in that year I have read several other books or series and then I can't remember all the nuances of the last book!

I'm very saddened the Ray Bradbury died on Tuesday. I actually got a little misty eyed. He wrote my favorite book Dandelion Wine
