What are you reading right now?

That's actually a really good idea...
For those that have read the Cassandra Palmer series... in Touch the dark , the way it starts out... is it just me or does it not explain to you the world she's in and what she actually is or does? Or do I read further for it to make more sense?

I was so confused by the first book in that series! I really liked the writing style, but I wasn't really sure what was going on at times and the time traveling at the end completely lost me. But I can say, the rest of the books in the series are much clearer and I enjoyed them quite a bit. I love Pritkin in the rest of the series.

Yeah! Buddy read!

Judd is my favorite! *sigh* I smile every time I see someone reading his book. Plus, this is hands down my favorite PNR series. As the series progresses I think the author does a great job of balancing the romance in the books with a serious plot and I love that her females are all just as strong and important as the males, if in their own unique ways. None of this sitting around the mansion waiting for the boys to come home and have sex with us. Wait until you get to book #6. I may love Judd, but books six is my favorite couple in the series.

Still waiting on my copy so hope to start next week.
Happy reading.

Thanks Lisa. I'll ck it out to make sure I can find the fold AND maybe get glimpse of spoilers. I'd love to hear how Miranda and David heal after the fact. Knowing her writing style, I'm sure it won't be water under the bridge.

Chelle, I blame you, I just downloaded it, I may start it tonight but I will give Hunger Games one last chance first lol don't hold your breath :(

Let me know if you like this....I keep passing on it but wondering about it. : )

Is this series good? I keep seeing bad reviews.

hahahahaha - we are all enablers here.
I loved The Hunger Games Sheree. Catching Fire was really good and Mockingjay was good. Great series.

I felt this same way too! Not sure who she will end up with. I've only read the first one, but I'm interested enough to continue.
I see everyone talking about "buddy reads"... What are they?? I've never heard of them! :)

I'm coming to love a good buddy read. Basically, two or more people all read the same book around the same time and have a thread to talk about it. Talk about the things you loved, the things you didn't like, maybe something you didn't understand that someone else can explain. Things you wish the characters had done differently. Pretty much anything. I like to comment on the book as I read, while scenes are fresh in my mind, but I think some people like to chat after they're done so they don't have to worry about spoilers.

I love Nalini Singh!! I remember being fascinated with Hawke (and Judd) from the brief scenes they had in the very first book. Have you read her Guild Hunter series?

Really!? Is that 'Holy Hell' good or 'Holy Hell' bad?

Really!? Is that 'Holy Hell' good or 'Holy Hell' bad?"
Holy hell good... Definitely good... though it was kinda sad at the end for a minute there

Hmmm....I haven't actually started the other book I was going to read yet, so I could start this one instead. Decisions, decisions....
And I fixed the cover back, so take that GR!

Ivory, i've never read Manga before, but i'm a huge fan of Anime. i'll have to take a look at some. where do u purchase urs from? is there a specific or helpful site to buy Manga?

Now onto

HOLY SHIT is perfect. I actually had to put it down after the rooftop events before I finished it. Kinda reminded me of Chicagoland Vamp books when Ethan 'died' I was pissed! Can't wait for the next Shadow World!!

Right??? I haven't actually read the Chicagoland vamps but this was definitely a book that pissed you off at times...

PA you are right...they are the same....but I have to say that I did enjoy a couple of them quite a bit. I found these easier to read and just plain fun! Nothing deep here but it is like popcorn....you keep digging into the bowl to get some more. I love New Species and especially liked Justices & Tiger's Book.

It's not that I don't like it, but at what point is she violating copy right laws. This is such a blatant copy that I can't believe she hasn't gotten in trouble. SHe has WAY too many things that are the exact same. If I were to read this book without knowing I would like it, but I know and it just makes me mad.

I think it's a personal preference. Some will probably like this series better. What bothers me I think is that the author doesn't give credit to Lora Leigh for the idea and she really should.

I thought the same thing when I read Fury, but then somethings about the series is very different than Lora Leigh's Breeds. I like them both, although I have read more Breeds books than New Species. Looking foward to continue them though.

I have found many series which are very similar to this one. I like both New Species and Breeds for different reasons....I figure there are more to read :-)
This author has a great alien series called Zorn Warriors too....worth a look. But the Mating Heat Series and Cyborg Seduction Series were not as good.

Robin, there is nothing wrong with the actual writing in the Shadow World books. The character development , plotting and writing style is really good. What some people object to is what I call the "relationship bomb" in book 2 which includes ***Spoilers*** cheating and m/m.

I've just been talking to Pamela the Mod and she is going to start a folder for buddy reads. It will really be just a place where people reading the same book at around about the same time can comment, rant, praise and discuss. I'm thinking two sections the first half of the book, then the last part so readers at different stages can join in without fear of spoilers. Shadow Fall will be our first, hopefully the idea will catch on...
