I've just been talking to Pamela the Mod and she is going to start a folder for buddy reads. It will really be just a place where people reading the same book at around about the same time can comment, rant, praise and discuss. I'm thinking two sections the first half of the book, then the last part so readers at different stages can join in without fear of spoilers. Shadow Fall will be our first, hopefully the idea will catch on...

That's actually a really good idea...

For those that have read the Cassandra Palmer series... in Touch the dark , the way it starts out... is it just me or does it not explain to you the world she's in and what she actually is or does? Or do I read further for it to make more sense?

I was so confused by the first book in that series! I really liked the writing style, but I wasn't really sure what was going on at times and the time traveling at the end completely lost me. But I can say, the rest of the books in the series are much clearer and I enjoyed them quite a bit. I love Pritkin in the rest of the series.

Judd is my favorite! *sigh* I smile every time I see someone reading his book. Plus, this is hands down my favorite PNR series. As the series progresses I think the author does a great job of balancing the romance in the books with a serious plot and I love that her females are all just as strong and important as the males, if in their own unique ways. None of this sitting around the mansion waiting for the boys to come home and have sex with us. Wait until you get to book #6. I may love Judd, but books six is my favorite couple in the series.

Thanks Lisa. I'll ck it out to make sure I can find the fold AND maybe get glimpse of spoilers. I'd love to hear how Miranda and David heal after the fact. Knowing her writing style, I'm sure it won't be water under the bridge.

I'm coming to love a good buddy read. Basically, two or more people all read the same book around the same time and have a thread to talk about it. Talk about the things you loved, the things you didn't like, maybe something you didn't understand that someone else can explain. Things you wish the characters had done differently. Pretty much anything. I like to comment on the book as I read, while scenes are fresh in my mind, but I think some people like to chat after they're done so they don't have to worry about spoilers.

It's not that I don't like it, but at what point is she violating copy right laws. This is such a blatant copy that I can't believe she hasn't gotten in trouble. SHe has WAY too many things that are the exact same. If I were to read this book without knowing I would like it, but I know and it just makes me mad.

I think it's a personal preference. Some will probably like this series better. What bothers me I think is that the author doesn't give credit to Lora Leigh for the idea and she really should.

I thought the same thing when I read Fury, but then somethings about the series is very different than Lora Leigh's Breeds. I like them both, although I have read more Breeds books than New Species. Looking foward to continue them though.

I have found many series which are very similar to this one. I like both New Species and Breeds for different reasons....I figure there are more to read :-)

This author has a great alien series called Zorn Warriors too....worth a look. But the Mating Heat Series and Cyborg Seduction Series were not as good.

This is just my perspective though... I've yet to read a shifter book that left me thinking "OMG that's so different from any shifter book I've read" and I think no matter what book you read especially in the PNR/UF genre's you're going to find a lot of books with a lot of similarities

Robin, there is nothing wrong with the actual writing in the Shadow World books. The character development , plotting and writing style is really good. What some people object to is what I call the "relationship bomb" in book 2 which includes ***Spoilers*** cheating and m/m.
