They've been on my TBR list for a while now... how were the first two?

EowynRN | 121 comments Yep, you might be confused if you started with book 10, but book 2 is fine. So go Love Bites, Single White Vampire, Tall, Dark And Hungry, and then read A Quick Bite if you want.

and you can even look up publish dates to see what I mean, Tall Dark and Hungry was 2004, Quick Bite was 2005.

I am amazed how many books out there seem to have just been typed by the author and no one proof read it. It really tears the story apart when you have to reread sentences because they dont make sense. All computers have spell check now, how does this happen?

I dont remember mistakes in Fifty Shades though.

I just finished this today and it's the first book in the series that I didn't like at all!! Lover unleashed was meh to me, but this was worse!! I thought Tohr was a total a$$ for most the book and I didn't like mopey No'One either and found myself not caring what happened.

I heard that Blay and Qhuinn are next and it will be a full feature novel, not a n ovella like was originally reported. The Layla/Qhuinn s/l she add some spice to it as well.

Sillylittlefishey | 1025 comments I just finished Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward and am sad to say that I didn't like it at all. Tohr was a jerk, No'One was obnoxious and most of the sideline storylines weren't interesting either. The only s/l I did like was Layla/Qhuinn.

Now I'm getting ready to start Seduction in Death (In Death, #13) by J.D. Robb

I agree with you both. I just spent the entire night going through my to read list and seeing what sounds good. I have spent the past few months re-reading things that I love because I'm afraid I'll be disappointed by other books...I made a list. I'm going to start with Darker After Midnight (Midnight Breed, #10) by Lara Adrian and see how it goes...

message 22420: by EowynRN (new)

EowynRN | 121 comments I think this current slump is going around. Not a whole lot of authors putting out good books right now, and the ones you can usually count on are putting out crap. I usually look through this threat for something to read, and I'm feeling a bit 'meh.' I think I'm definitely going to reread the fever series.

When I go through one of those slumps I usually read a couple books of a differnet genre and then I'm good! If you're having a slump I just read both of these and they are 6 star reads! I thought this was a good one. It started out a little unbelievably for me, but she really shakes things up for the series with this one. She wraps up the current story arc, and in the process really changes things for the Order. And she drops some hints about the origin of the Breedmates. I thought it was better than the last two books and I'm now eager for the next one.

message 22428: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Carney I'm currently reading Dark Warrior Unbroken (Talions, #2) by Alexis Morgan and I must admit it's really irritating me right now! The first one was somewhat better, but so far this one... I can't stand when the lead female is really falling for a guy and then she catches a "glimpse" of his "dark" past and then is suddenly terrified of him and so upset, even though she was just in bed with him minutes before! Haha!

I think I'm the lone reader who loved Lover Reborn. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of Tohr and Autumn/No'One because it took so long for these two to find themselves and each other, it was more realistic in the terms of lives rebuilding after horrific tragedies. I saw redemption and growth for Tohr, Autumn, Lassiter and I saw trust and putting words to action that included John Matthew and Xhex. I saw secondary characters rising and making their marks - a couple of 'kings' attempting to ascend in dark ways; Xcor and his treasonous attempts to overthrow Wrath and Assail who intends to rise to the role vacated by Rhevenge as drug overlord with a darker purpose. Finally I saw a book that more than made up for the very disappointing Lover Unleashed Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward

imo. :) But I do hope anyone who has not read Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward to read it and see what you think. Who knows, like me, you may be pleasantly surprised. :)

Lover Unleashed which I felt was a huge disappointment.

I liked Lover Reborn. I did not care for the story between Tohr and No'One but I really liked the secondary stories. Tohr could be ass but he was also pretty sexy at times. I liked how the stories are progressing and there are more vampires, good and bad. I was getting tires of the lessers. The stories with the Band of Bastards was also good. You are not alone. I thoroughly enjoyed book. Very exciting.
