They've been on my TBR list for a while now... how were the first two?

and you can even look up publish dates to see what I mean, Tall Dark and Hungry was 2004, Quick Bite was 2005.

I couldnt get the first book either. Seemed a bit childish to me.

I am amazed how many books out there seem to have just been typed by the author and no one proof read it. It really tears the story apart when you have to reread sentences because they dont make sense. All computers have spell check now, how does this happen?
I dont remember mistakes in Fifty Shades though.

They improve as the series progresses. The first couple of books are very light reads.

Nooo.. read it. You may like it. There are others who enjoyed it a lot. It's me.

I know the feeling, I feel like I have read all the good ones out there:(
I'm in a reading slump right now.....

I feel like this a lot! It feels like I have read all the good series out there and have to settle for the fillers until new books are released

Shadowfever makes the whole series worthwhile...

I just finished this today and it's the first book in the series that I didn't like at all!! Lover unleashed was meh to me, but this was worse!! I thought Tohr was a total a$$ for most the book and I didn't like mopey No'One either and found myself not caring what happened.
I heard that Blay and Qhuinn are next and it will be a full feature novel, not a n ovella like was originally reported. The Layla/Qhuinn s/l she add some spice to it as well.

Now I'm getting ready to start

Sad to hear that! I was looking forward to it. :(

I agree with you both. I just spent the entire night going through my to read list and seeing what sounds good. I have spent the past few months re-reading things that I love because I'm afraid I'll be disappointed by other books...I made a list. I'm going to start with

When I go through one of those slumps I usually read a couple books of a differnet genre and then I'm good! If you're having a slump I just read both of these and they are 6 star reads!

I thought this was a good one. It started out a little unbelievably for me, but she really shakes things up for the series with this one. She wraps up the current story arc, and in the process really changes things for the Order. And she drops some hints about the origin of the Breedmates. I thought it was better than the last two books and I'm now eager for the next one.

I think I'm the lone reader who loved Lover Reborn. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of Tohr and Autumn/No'One because it took so long for these two to find themselves and each other, it was more realistic in the terms of lives rebuilding after horrific tragedies. I saw redemption and growth for Tohr, Autumn, Lassiter and I saw trust and putting words to action that included John Matthew and Xhex. I saw secondary characters rising and making their marks - a couple of 'kings' attempting to ascend in dark ways; Xcor and his treasonous attempts to overthrow Wrath and Assail who intends to rise to the role vacated by Rhevenge as drug overlord with a darker purpose. Finally I saw a book that more than made up for the very disappointing Lover Unleashed

imo. :) But I do hope anyone who has not read

Oh, I'll for sure read it anyway! I've loved every book in the series so far, so I find it unlikely that I'll feel differently about this one. :)

Christy you aren't alone. I totally agree that Lover Reborn was a good book in its own right it also made up for the horrific
Lover Unleashed which I felt was a huge disappointment.

Oh I love these guys, but I need to finish this fifty shades trilogy that I cant put down and get to it.

I liked Lover Reborn. I did not care for the story between Tohr and No'One but I really liked the secondary stories. Tohr could be ass but he was also pretty sexy at times. I liked how the stories are progressing and there are more vampires, good and bad. I was getting tires of the lessers. The stories with the Band of Bastards was also good. You are not alone. I thoroughly enjoyed book. Very exciting.

YES!!!

I'm so afraid....

I have heard some good things about it."
I loved it. I got caught up in the characters and plot right away.

You are not alone. I gave it a ***** and am really looking to the next one (Qhuinn and Blay, FINALLY). The only BDB i really didn't like was Lover Enshrined (Phury and Cormia ) which i found woeful. I think JR has set up a lot of exciting new story threads, especially the mess-up with Layla, Qhuinn and Xcor...

Jenna this is a fantastic series....go for it! read the prequel first if you can.

Tash, I LOVE Clare's Infernal Devices series, it's like a prequel to her Mortal Instruments, and it has a steampunk feel to it that really worked for me. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have, I'm looking forward to Clockwork Princess, but I think I have to wait until Dec----argh!

I ditto all of that. Wasn't feeling anything for Manny/Payne, but loved the other storylines. I thought Lover Reborn was well done, and I'm excited to hear that Quinn/Blay get their own book.

I have heard some good things about it."
This is a really good book and Night Reigns

I agree

I was disappointed too. It's too bad. I heard Blay and Quinn are next and that they are getting a full novel. If it's not better than her last two though I think it will be my last BDB book.
