Neither can I! I hope it lives up to the expectation raised by the excerpt Nalini Singh published on her website. Hot, hot, hot! :)

LilMisGrayBrisk | 502 comments I finished Fetish by Sherri L. King and it was alright. I'm currently reading Tiger Eye by Marjorie M Liu but I hope it gets better soon.

message 2155: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) I just finished Iron Kissed. I didn't enjoy this one as much as I did the others. It took me quite awhile to get into the story and even then I found it frustrating. Maybe it's because these books are really UF (my library actually has them as YA Horror). There is plenty of violence and bloodshed but Briggs shies away from language and sex even when it would be totally appropriate to the situation. Especially in this book. At the very end I felt so cheated I almost threw the book across the room.

Currently reading Fireflies. Who can resist a book with...Warning, this title contains the following: explicit male/male sex, graphic language, violence, and inappropriate use of plants. Inappropriate use of plants? Oh, I'm so there!

I read Tiger Eye last year and thought it was good enough to keep reading that series. I have now read the first four and I still have mixed feelings. Each book seemed like the writing style changed. I've never had that happen. The plots were decent, though. I really liked the second and fourth books. I plan to read the rest in the series, but I'm in no hurry.

Lol - I did try to warn you.

Yeah, the inappropriate use of plants certainly made my eyes wide. Oh, the possibilities...

No, Adrienne, it wasn't. :) It was not at all what I was expecting.

OK, Dina, I took your advice and am saving Hostage to Pleasure for next month (that sounds leagues away!), but it does spread the books out more evenly. Started Chapman's Charming the Highlander last night, but was so exhausted I only got thru the first two chapters (chapter 1 is early 18th Scotland, chapter 2 is modern day), but so far so good.

message 2161: by Josephine (new)

Josephine (tyrrel) | 43 comments I just finished Burning Alive by Shannon Butcher. Much of the world premises remind me of other PNR, Feehan’s no women and the men needing the women to not become a bad guy, Adrian’s and Ward’s compound of warriors, Morgan’s quick healing other world warriors, you get the message. That being said, Butchers writing definitely warrants the time. I think she’s a good new author to watch. I have high hopes that this will be another wonderful series to follow.

I will try and read the next one when I'm finished with the Challenges, thanks

This is one of my favorite series. I was pleasently surprised too. I was really disapointed though with the last book. Hopefully the series will pick back up again with the next book!

I've been blasting through Richelle Mead's Storm Born. I started reading it yesterday evening, and I'm almost finished with it now. It's another one of those times when I just can't read fast enough, gah! I need to know how it ends!

I loved Storm Born, much better than the Succubus books. The only downside is waiting for book 2!

Jessa Slade (jessaslade) | 114 comments On the advice in one of the threads here, I picked up Adrian Phoenix's A Rush of Wings [image error] Over halfway through now, and Dante is srsly hot :) I'm intrigued by the hint of creation powers, so I'm carefully avoiding any spoilers. Gotta get to book 2!

Ruth Violet | 20 comments right now i am reading just one sip it is an anthology. and it is really good. the first story is by jennifer ashley. and it was excellent. viva las vampires was the name of it. and i read kitty and dead man's hand and it was excellent.

Charlotte (Buried in Books) | 386 comments Just finished Another One Bites the Dust by Jennifer Rardin, the second Jazz Parks book. Didn't think it was as good as the first one, but still loved it. Correction, I love Vayl.

message 2179: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 208 comments I will be starting The Dream-Huntertonight!

message 2180: by Chasidy (new)

Chasidy I'm thinking of starting Brenda Joyce's Dark Embrace. Have any of you read it?

message 2181: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) Chasidy - I have read Dark Embrace and the two that come before it and the one after. It was ok - the herione I just really did not like. I enjoyed the first two books much more - Dark Seduction and Dark Rival. If you like time traveling Scots men, I would give them a shot.

message 2182: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 443 comments Finally finished Charming the Highlander by J. Chapman. After a very interesting beginning, it just kind of fell flat for me. It was an OK read, but didn't grab me until the last 1/4 of the book. I think the first chapters set my expectations too high - or because I read it after Moning's 'Highlanders'.

Now starting The Mage by J. Johnson, the 8th & last book in her Sons of Destiny series. Will see if that one lives up to my expectations.

message 2183: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Just finished Victory of Eagles. Book 5 in the Temeraire series. Great...much better than book 3 and 4.

message 2185: by Nifferness (new)

Nifferness | 33 comments I just finished Deep Midnight by Shannon Drake and I enjoyed it. I didn't realize it was third in a series though, but it read like a stand alone so it wasn't too big a deal. I'm going to comb through this forum to find my next read...well that and go to the library on my lunch hour to just have something!

message 2186: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) I'm reading the last of my challenge books, Suddenly You. It's not PNR and not what I would normally read but it sounded interesting and got good reviews so I'm giving it a shot.

I'm in the middle of Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. Everyone's recommended this really highly, but... I'm not terribly impressed so far. Maybe it'll blow me away by the end, but I'm kind of ready to be finished with it already.

Fangirl, so sorry you're disappointed in 'Inkheart' - I listened to the entire trilogy and loved it, but I'm sure part of that loving was because the reader gave 'voice' to each character.

message 2192: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (tsorrels) Discriminating Fangirl, I have Inkheart at home and I've tried to get in to it three times. The farthest I've made it yet was, I believe, page 20. Perhaps I will get around to trying it again someday... :)

Are you going to watch the movie after finishing the book?

message 2193: by [deleted user] (new)

Almost done with Undead and Unemployed by MaryJanice Davidson. I've seen mixed reviews on this seris, but I really like it. Maybe it's because I'm from Minnesota and it takes place in the Twin Cities. LOL I also started Dark Needs At Night's Edge by Kresley Cole.

I have read all the Betsy books and am anxiously awaiting the new one to come out next month. They were the first Paranormal to make me laugh out loud.

message 2199: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) I'm reading A Stroke of Midnight by LKH.

For some reason this series is harder to get into for me, did anyone else have that problem? I liked all her other works: Nightseer, her anthologies and her other books but these are just hard to really latch onto.

I struggled through the first three books and thought I was just gonna give up and then she kicks the story into overdrive, I guess you could say, the last 30 - 40 pages and makes you want to read on. Though, getting to the ending is hard for me :P

message 2200: by Jessa (new)

Jessa Slade (jessaslade) | 114 comments I'm reading Jeri Smith-Ready's BAD TO THE BONE, the second in her rock'n'roll vampires series. Bad to the Bone (WVMP Radio, #2) by Jeri Smith-Ready I was supposed to be saving it as a reward to myself because I liked WICKED GAME, the first book, so much, but I ended up starting it today 'cuz it was a bad day, and... well, you know how that goes :)

I suppose it's technically UF -- first person with a longer story arc. I really like the heroine's take on living with vampires. It's not as easy as some stories make it out to be :) Plus, Dexter the vampire dog is awesome (he's on the cover, and I'm a sucker for great covers) and the existence of vampire dogs could totally explain some of my dog's bad behaviors.
