I've been revisiting Kate and Curran by listening to the audio. They still crack me up. When I'm doing a relatively mindless task at work, I'll listen to it and people must think I'm nuts when I start laughing out loud to myself. Scratch that, I work with these people, they already know I'm nuts. I'm on book four and already I feel like going back and rereading them again. Almost to the part where she welds the slut hut shut. I love them!

I liked the story, but Denise just seemed a little too whiny to me in this one. Not the Denise I know from the rest of the series. I actually preferred Mencheres and Kira. But I'm really looking forward to VLAD!!!!!

Besides the giggles, I felt her pain thru the narrator for what Curran did...or did not do. Didn't the narrator's voice grow on you? I loved her by the 2nd book read.

Absolutely! I didn't care for her voice at all in the first book, but now that I'm on the fourth, I can't imagine a different voice for Kate. She does convey Kate's emotional vulnerability well. And her take on Curran's voice has REALLY grown on me. When he asks "Would kissing my ass be obeisance, grooming, or foreplay?" I could have melted into a puddle.

Sheree ok, so Im't not talking about the subject but so I don't get in trouble lol I am onto Lover Unleashed, only in the very early stages but I am liking it. So yeah, it's Saturday in Western Australia 4:30 pm actually & I worked. I also just happened to write the GR's website & Night Huntress & BDB book names & authors on at the very least 6 people & to make my day they all loved the fact I helped them lol so be wary of a sudden surge of West Aussie's joining this group as I also wrote down this groups name lol I should be earning commission for these things. God I love helping people find this site & so many. I even went so far as to explain how if you added your books you had read that the site would automatically recommend books of that genre by the books on your "read' & tbr list. OMG!!! I am such a bad employee

lol, I didn't even think about how a movie would film Barrons bringing Mac back after the Unseelie Princes attack. maybe a light nite TV series would be more appropriate. The last episode of Lost Girl on SyFy was a bit graffic, so they could do it, although I'm not sure I'd trust SyFy to do a good job.

Sookie is not the kind of heroine I generally like. She seems a little weak willed to me. I also don't like the relationship between her and Bill, it seems really superficial. I don't know exactly what's missing for me but something is. And I am not a fan of love triangles.
I've heard the show is a lot different than the book so I could see you liking the show and not the book. Generally I like books better but there are a few exceptions. I love the TV series Dexter but don't enjoy the books at all.

LOL Just snuck up on you, huh? I really loved this series, but I got a little burned out after At Grave's End (Night Huntress, #3) by Jeaniene Frost . That seems to be my M.O. though. BDB and LoTU are the only two series I've ever been able to read back-to-back. :)

message 21542: by Katya (new)

Katya | 645 comments I am having trouble reading PNR right now so I read Intimate Strangers by Laura Taylor Someone on here recommended it and I picked it up free I think on smashwords. (Yup just checked it is free)

Anyway, this was pretty darn good. This guy was a hired mercinary-more assassin and has to kinda hide out because he has so many gunning for him now that he is retired. He also allows others like him to live on his 10 thousand acre plot of land and he protects them. Most of these guys are recked as human beings because of what they have done and seen...PTSD....They live solitary lives and one of these guys's sister comes looking for him and lands at Nicholas's door....and refuses to leave until she finds her brother. A tiny bit sappy at some parts but I really liked it. There are other books with this theme written by this author. (written in the 90's)(Fallen Angel series)

That's why I don't read back to back... I read one book per whatever series .. Right now I'm doing 25 different series and then I'll move on to book 2 of each series etc... Otherwise if I read one series of books back to back I tend to get bored with them...

Wow! 25?? That's awesome! LOL Though I don't think I could juggle that many, I do think switching off is a great idea! I just burned myself out on Dark-Hunters, too. Yes...a different approach is definitely in order here. :)
