Just downloaded the free copy of Blood Engines by TA Pratt, added it to my tbr list, hope to get to it this month.
Not sure if I'm going to read some Dresden Files next or A rush of wings

Leana, are you still liking 'Game of Thrones'? I read (listened to, actually) the first 4 books of "Song of Ice and Fire" and have been waiting for almost two years for the promised 5th book, which is now scheduled for end of September.
I just listened to the audio book of Prince Of Twilight by Maggie Shayne. I didn't like it at all. I could't see any logical reason for the heroine to fall so helplessly in love with the vamp main character. I mean, I get illogical love and doing crazy things for love, but this was just beyond my comprehension. I haven't read the other books in the series, so maybe I'm missing something, but I doubt that I will ever read them to find out.

I am still not very far in. But I am reading 3 books at one time. I know. I am crazy! But I needed an easy read while reading Game Of Thrones so I am reading The Summoning. And then I won The Kult from First Reads on here. So I am trying to read that now too. I just got it yesterday though so I didn't get far on it yet. My friend tells me I have OCD.
But to answer your question, I am liking it. It's hard right now to keep all the characters straight. But it's still entertaining so far. I was on George Martin's site last night checking out his bibliography and saw he has 2 more books to come out in the series after the next one. I though I remember reading before that it was a 5 book series. Hopefully though #5 comes out this eyar. I know you aren't the only one waiting. I doubt I will be that far by then though.
But I also read that HBO will have Game of Thornes as a series! So I thougth that was really cool. The pilot is scheduled to film in the fall this year.

Need by Sean Michael. Wow, this is one hot vampire love story. Typical Sean Michael in that there was lots of sex but there was also a really compelling story. Bast is a 750 year old vampire, turned at 15 and Trick is a homeless teenager turning tricks to put food in his belly. Right from the start this book sucks you in and keeps you reading. Loved it and can't wait to read the sequel, Chosen.
Circusex A One-hand Read which was really...well...really interesting. Circus Six has an after hours show that features acts for adults only. Adults who have paid a premium to either participate or just watch. When Circus Six is in his neck of the woods, it's Dwayne's job to broker the deals. He takes his job seriously, trying out the new acts and performers himself to insure the safety and mutual enjoyment of all of the participates involved. This book is strangely compelling and I have to admit that I found it titillating and somewhat enjoyable.
Heat by Tory Temple. This is the first book I've read of hers but will definitely not be the last. Chance and Tucker meet when Tucker comes to work at the same fire station where Chance works. This is a wonderful love story about two men who work hard to make their relationship work in a "Don't ask don't tell" environment. Bigger then even that obstacle though is what faces them when Chance is severely injured. I loved this story and can't wait to read the sequel.

I am currently reading House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski. Definitely not PNR, though there is a paranormal angle. I like it but I'm not sure who I'd recommend it to. It's a unique experience, that's for sure.

Who's excited?!

I've really enjoyed this series and hope she continues with paranormals, maybe with the fairy story I read in an anthology (hint, hint because I know Virginia hangs out on Goodreads).

Still reading Lover Avenged and on man is it getting good. I could do with less of the Lessers and more of the Brothers, and Rehv of course, but I know you gotta take the bad with the good.

But the latest, Dream Warrior? That one I had a hard time getting through. I'm still looking forward to Bad Moon Rising though.

I also won a copy of Ann Macela's "The Oldest Kind of Magic" from one the blogs I follow, so that's what I'm currently reading. It seems to be a quick read, and I'm looking forward to its resolution!
Cheers!

decided to persevere::have now got past pg46::so glad i did as this book has changed::i'm really enjoying it now::

Now I'm switching gears and reading Mary Balogh's "At Last Comes Love" and Robyn Carr's 'Second Chance Pass'

I know I'm the challenge leader, but my vote is Lover Avenged. C'mon, how can you resist not reading the Purple Rooster...LOL

Keep reading The Host! It's my second favorite book from 2008. The other happens to be from Stephenie Meyer as well. I will say the first 150 pages were hard. I wanted to put the book down. But I kept reading it and I am so glad I did! Hope you like it!

I'm around page 70. My opinion so far: the bare bones of it, meaning the actual plot, is good. I'm not so sure about the window dressings, though. There has been more than one thing that made me go, "Really? Huh."
I'll just say she's made some stylistic choices I would not have made.
I also started Bones Crossed this weekend. I've been in line to get it from the library forever now, and then all of a sudden they called and said they had it for me, so I ran to get it.
Good so far, but man, will Adam and Mercy just hook up already? Sheesh.

Oh you lucky, lucky girl. LOVED that book. Enjoy but keep the Kleenex near by.

I just bought that a Border's this weekend when I stopped in to get Dead and Gone. Let me know how it is!

I'm LOVING this Series!! :-)
Friends in Reading!"
