I thought the books were good so far, but I've only read up till Seize the Night cuz I can't find Sins of the Night and I'm too lazy to order from the library.

message 20361: by DemetraP (new)

DemetraP | 379 comments I never got into Sherrilyn Kenyon. The only book I actually liked was Night Play, and it was more of a love story than the more urban fantasy that the rest of the series was.

I kept reading until Acheron's book came out, and was very disappointed. I completely lost interest after Acheron's book. This series just never hooked me but my friends kept telling me it was one of their favorites so I kept trying.

Now onto Silent Night (includes In Death, #7.5) by J.D. Robb ...not sure if I'm going to read all the stories or just the In Death story, Midnight in Death...

I think I made it to midway book 3, but I'm not sure because it was a long time ago. I just couldn't force myself to go any further. Thank goodness I had borrowed the book from a friend or I would have felt cheated. Though with everyone's recent enthusiasm, I'm wondering if I shouldn't try reading it again :\

I read all nine books in this series and it was just an okay series for me. Not bad, it just fell short in some areas for me, and I got really tired of Riley. Although, if memory serves me correctly, I did think that last three books in the series were the best.

Again I ask what was annoying about this book. I thought the series was outstanding.

message 20392: by Magda (new)

Magda | 558 comments Teresa, tastes are subjective. To me, the unnecessary sex scenes detracted from the storyline.
Riley and her attitude/interactions with Quinn bothered me, she treated him like crap but ran headlong to Talon, who drugged & raped her.
I couldn't finish the book.

message 20393: by Laura (last edited Feb 14, 2012 11:29AM) (new)

Laura Carson (laurarcarson) I agree Magda! I continued up to(I think I ended at 4?) and it definitley got better, but I had to really fight through the random sex in the beginning. I got sick of her begging to be with Quinn and then she would turn around and have sex with someone else and blame her wolf nature. Like I said though, book #4 started to get much better. I will pick it up and finish it out eventually.

message 20394: by Denise Nanna (new)
