Finished up
and it was simply fantastic; I didn't want it to end. Defintely one of my favorite books of the year. I would recommend this book simply for Kaldar(he jumped into my favorite heros of all time list) alone, let alone all the other great stuff in it.Reading
and am liking it so far...I am defintely lucky this month as three of my favorite authors(Nalini Singh, Ilona Andrews, and Lora Leigh) have books out and that makes me very happy :)
@Juliei'm glad to hear u enjoyed Fate's Edge. i like that series. didn't know the 3rd book was out already. i hope my library has it. i'll have to dig into that one once i finish Kiss of Crimson and Destined for an Early Grave.

I have been told this series is fantastic"The Fever series will change your life! I have never read a series
that invaded my mind like this one. Barrons is the best! I hope you enjoy it and you'll want the next ones in line most of them end with a cliff hanger.
My husband and I just finished the series The Uglies, The Pretties, The Specials, and The Extras.
. It was a fun read. certainly a few things I would have liked done differently, but overall it was good. Then we started
. we're about halfway through and it's a really fun good book so far. I was disappointed Half Priced Books didn't have the rest of the series, so I'll have to request them from the library.I'm also sorta reading through
. I say sorta because I actually don't really like the series. It annoys me to no end that these "vampyres" are really witches; just call them witches, you know?. All Zoey's friends annoy me immensely; most of the book is just nonsensical blathering - I stopped reading the dialogue of most of her friends serveral books ago. However, I have a hard time not finishing a series as I have a mild interest to see where it's heading. I can't believe how long this story is dragging out though. Book #8 was my favorite as I like the story between Stevie Rae and Rephiam. So I started Destined, hoping to read more about those 2, but I am sure bored, so I am just skimming through, pretty much just reading the parts by stevie rae, rephaim, kalona, and a few other bits here and there.I'm always reading so many books, usually a few at a time, that I'm having trouble even remembering what some books are about! case in point at Half Priced Books the other day, I saw the book
and I couldn't even remember what it's about. not a good thing I guess (not being able to remember). I'm also part way through
. I loved the first 4, but this one just isn't doing it for me. I have about 100 pages left and haven't read it for a couple months now.

The books he reads on his own are the typical guy-stuff sci-fi (Jim Butcher, Robert Heinlein, Wheel of Time, Game of Thrones, etc) and politics. Same thing with movies - he would prefer to pick sci-fi/horror/action stuff, however he likes romantic comedy movies as much as I do (he's a complete teady bear; I swear he was a female in a past life, always wants to cuddle - WAY too much for me actually though). It feels sorta corny, but he likes me reading aloud to him, especially in the car when he's driving. We started with Harry Potter, then Twilight. Then when I read my first Dark-Hunter story about Kyrian, which cracked me up so much, I kept reading him the passages that cracked me up, so when I got about half way through the book, I just started over and read it to him, along with the 2nd dark hunter book and he liked those. I don't think he would ever sit down to read them on his own, but he definitely enjoys them and likes sharing them with me by me reading them to him. So it's pretty fun that we can enjoy them and crack up laughing at the same time.

He also usually likes to read historical non-fiction and political books too. Its nice to be able to talk about the books with him.
Now reading
since our 14 year old loves the series and recommended it.
I finished
last night, but I didn't like it. Now I'm getting ready to read
....I'm not sure if I'll like it or not...
Just finished Love is Darkness and Love is Fear. They are very good. Sookie Stackhouse's fans ((before the Sookie's book became annoying) will enjoy them. Right now, Love is Darknessis only $0.99 in Amazon and it has 4.5 stars based on 100+ customer reviews.I can't wait for the third book on May.
Finished
not as good as VA. About 50 pages into
. Just read the part where Cat said "He fucks better then he looks and I'm gonna have his face between my legs as soon as we get ooome..." LOL hilarious :)

Finished Book 2 of The Drake Chronicles "Blood Feud". Pretty good. A C+ overall with a real good fight scene that helped with that grade. Now on to Book 3 - Out for Blood.

and we can't wait for the second in the trilogy to come out in Jan. He has read tons of the different series and is actually reading the BDB series right now because he loves the warrior aspect in it and wants to start
as I read probably read over half to him because it was so funny. But it is nice to have something you both really enjoy and can talk about.
Alright everyone... I've been stuck on what to read next. I want something GREAT... a series that is "can't put down" worthy. There are so many that I have already read and so many that I wanna read but I just can't seem to decide which one. I am coming to all of you for help. Name me your favorites... ones that you thought were just wonderful. That might help me figure out which one to read next.
I'm partial to Larissa Ione (both Demonica & Lords of Deliverance) & Lara Adrian's (Breeds)work myself. I also like Lords of the Underworld (Gena Showalter) Chloe O'Neill's Chicagoland Vmapires & Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson as well. I'm recently started both Vampires in America by D. B. Reynolds & Alpha & Omega by Patricia Briggs and am enjoying them both. Hope there's something in there you might find interesting.
Ok Juli here's mine. I really love
It is a can't put down series for me and I just read
There are 3 out in the series so far I believe and it was great. Read it in a day, had tons of funny parts but still had a romance side that was great too. It was also different from the vampire, werewolf series that I read a lot of, so that helped too, for me to have a little bit of a change. I also like the Demonica series along with BDB and Night Huntress. Finished
It was a little different for me. Now reading
about halfway through. Love this series.
Julie *-* wrote: "Alright everyone... I've been stuck on what to read next. I want something GREAT... a series that is "can't put down" worthy. I also love Kerrelyn Sparks Love at Stake series(it's humorous and still sexy). If you want to try a non paranormal, one of my favorite series I read this year was a contemporary romance by E.L. James Fifty Shades of Grey. Each of these was a can't put down series.

I've seen those before but the story seemed exactly the same as Lora Leigh's Breeds. Too close.
Katya wrote: "BJS wrote: "

Katya, have you read the Breeds series from Lora Leigh? The only thing that has held me back from this series that the description sounds EXACTLY the same as that series. Is it? or is it just the way it's described.
They are similar PA but not as intense, especially the sex and the yearning that are in Lora Leigh's books. Laurann Dohner wrote these a long time ago and is finally publishing them, so I don't think they're an actual copycat. I like both series, but I have to be in the mood for Lora Leigh's books because they're mostly dark.
Not knowing what you have read....I would suggest:Vampires in America Series:
Sentinel Wars Series:
Eternal Guardians Series:
And I would agree with PA...the Night Huntress, Love at Stake and Fifty Shades Series are all excellent!

I might read one just to see.

I have not read Lora Leigh's series although I do have some of that series in epubs....I pick up alot of books here and there and put them on the shelf for a later date. I have been meaning to try them.

I really enjoyed the series--especially

My only problem with the book is that I think it moved too fast. That's why I only gave it 4 stars. I still loved it though and actually cried when one of the characters died.
Julie *-* wrote: "Alright everyone... I've been stuck on what to read next. I want something GREAT... a series that is "can't put down" worthy. There are so many that I have already read and so many that I wanna rea..."My favorites: either of Nalini Singh's series:
or
Patricia Briggs
Kate Daniels
(although for me book 1 started kind of slow, but once it finally takes off the series is awesome)Rob Thurman
(This one's very different from the rest, but I love her style of writing)If you haven't read Nalini Singh, I say start there. With both of her series I thought the first books were good, but the second and third each get better and better.

Working Stiff when I got my hands on it. Every time I thought I knew where the story was headed it took off in another direction, I loved it. It is the first in the series & my friend who I made read it, read it in one night. The Storm , I loved & the last in the series has just Born I liked NH way better though
