Don't compare. I did and I gave the first book 3 1/2 stars. I went to the second book with more of an open mind. It was much better. Alaric's book is so much better. This series is totally different from Monings'.

I'm still going to read the 3rd book and will go back to Alaric's when my library have it. I hope I won't be too lost. I had to do the same thing with Demonica series too. Of course I had to miss the one book that had the most going on, Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione , but i've read it nonetheless.

Julie | 188 comments Suza wrote: "Anita Blake. I've heard that name but haven't read the series. Which one is that?"

It's written by Laurell K Hamilton and seems to have some extreme reactions to it. I myself like the whole series alot(it's got vampires, shifters, paranormal politics, violence and heroine is necromancer/succubus?, and sex, lots and lots of sex later on), but you must be warned that it takes quite a turn at book 9 that alot of fans hate. If you hate your heroine sleeping with more than 1 hero you won't like it. But it was one of the first paranornmals with a badass heroine and is totally worth reading at least the first 8 books. First one is Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton

Hi PA, Layby is an Australian payment system where you purchase an item, they put it away for you, then you proceed to pay it off over a couple of months usually. You don't pay any interest but you don't get your item till you pay it off. It was very popular here about 20 years ago, with credit cards etc now you don't hear about it that often but it is still available.

Alisa (alisakayco) | 110 comments @Lisa. Oh, people here call it lay-away.

I always hear of the Dresden files, but have not read them so I really need to get on that.

I just got Fate's Edge (The Edge, #3) by Ilona Andrews so I'm going to read that as soon as I'm done with Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins . I finished Looking for Alaska by John Green earlier today and it was GREAT.

@Suza, I read Immortal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #2) by Larissa Ione a while back. It was good, but the female MC really got on my nerves. So immature, but the story was great. I really can't wait until Reseph's or Reavie-Weavie's story.

Cool! I just started Black Ice but this one will definitely be next on my list. :) I did start Book 1 of Ilona Andrew's Magic series but for some reason it didn't grab me. I think I'm going to try again because I keep hearing so many good things about that series.

Please give Ilona Andrews another chance. That first book starts out slow, but once you get about 60 pages in or so, they finally hit their stride. Books 2 and 3 each get better than the one before.

I finished about 2 days ago and I enjoyed it very much. The main character, Limos, will make you so angry but that is the point. There is a lot going on and the stories continue to build. It is exciting. The next book is going to be intense. The plot is becoming crazy(in a good way).
