Amen! She totally let Phury down with his story. All those scenes between JM and Cormia and I kept thinking, why isn't she having a moment like this with Phury? After all he'd been through this is all the more he gets for his story line? And one minute they're all bumming red smokes from him, the next they're washing their hands of him because of his addiction without even trying to help him?!

Man, get me griping about BDB and I could go on for hours. Even though I love them and get sucked into every blessed book.

Oh, I could have slapped Z when he turn his back on Phury, after everything Phury did for him. Argh! One of many, many times I've felt like slapping these guys.... I completely agree! Showalter has done some nice teases with him too: his curse, his feelings for Gilly (sp?), his relationship with Anya. Can't wait to see how it all plays out! I think the Lords will be there for him - Kane barely knows him but was concerned about his wellbeing during The Darkest Surrender. I hope his book is after Paris'. If so, 2012 is going to be a great year!! :)

I'm probably going to burn in WARDen you-know-what for this, but I totally agree! When (not "if") I reread the series, I'll probably either skim his, or skip it all together. She interweaves the story lines so much though...I don't think I'll be able to get away with skipping it.

You might have a long wait. I wasn't impressed with the series at all. I read it, and did get into parts of it, but as a whole it didn't do it for me. The potential was there, but didn't deliver. Of course...there was so much hype about it that maybe I had just gotten my hopes up.

I'm almost 200 pages in, and still not impressed. It's getting more interesting now that the plot is finally underway, but I think it's the writing style that doesn't really appeal to me.

Although I did love this line: If you were half as funny as you think you are, you'd be twice as funny as you really are.

Duchess Nicole | 138 comments Reading Prey (Shifters, #4) by Rachel Vincent Never Love a Highlander (McCabe Trilogy, #3) by Maya Banks
Maya Banks Highlander series is really good. I'm flip flopping on Rachel Vincent's Shifter series. Sometimes they make me so mad! And the fade to black love scenes get a bit frustrating. Not that I have to have raunch, but sometimes it ruins the chemistry that I think I'm supposed to feel. I think I felt more chemistry between Faythe and Jace than Faythe and Marc.

Now though I am reading Incarceron (Incarceron, #1) by Catherine Fisher it's kind of weird right now, hopefully it gets better. Has anyone read this to give me their opinion on it?

I actually loved the other story arc with Qhuiin and Lash, because it felt like she was shifting to writing more urban fantasy (which I love). But I hated Phury's story line. I liked him so much up until this book, and it was such a let down. I didn't really care for Rhev's book either. Butch is my favorite brother, but I can't wait to read Thorment's story next year!!

I am also so excited for Tohrments book, the only thing is, can they "Bond" more than once? I love that he was so in love with Welsie for so long, I want him to move on, but don't want it to take away from the importance of his relationship with his wife. You?

Finally finished The Darkest Surrender (Lords of the Underworld, #8) by Gena Showalter . Not my favorite, but not bad. I wish there was more mention of all the past characters we've gotten to know so well. At this point, if Maddox or Reyes showed their face I'm gonna say "Aaaand...who are you again?" ;)

Trying to figure out what to read next. My TBR list is way too long to manage or figure out. Maybe I'll just close my eyes and point. Haha!

I know. I was so devastated about Welsie, and I'm curious to see how Ward handles Tohr's story. I also hope Lassiter is in Tohr's book. For me, he added some much needed comic relief in the one or two books where he actually got some page time.
