The VA series is my fav! I haven't read the Dark Swan series yet. Im trying not to read series that are not finished yet. I can't handle waiting in between books. :)

message 16352: by Sheree (new)

Sheree lol yes I know the feeling, Dark Swan is a great series, I have lined up three friend's to read the series & I hate having to wait until next year but I have time to read these new series as they're all out now.
I loved VA too, a friend suggested I read it & I couldn't get over how much I loved those books. I turned an anti twilight reader onto it & she loved it too. I am hoping Bloodlines gets better with each book, as I knew too much about the Moroi & Damphirs that I worked out things way before the characters worked them out. I have also told everyone who comes through my checkout with paranormal for themselves or their kids to try VA & the adults I tell to read Succubus & Dark Swan. Even though I am 32, VA was such a good read I didn't mind the age gap between me & the characters. I will always hold a special part in my heart for VA

There is a handy thread on here that lists series that are complete or nearly so. I have used it and made a shelf on my TBR so I can read those before one that is still in progress.

Pansy | 740 comments I just finished From This Moment On (Sullivans, #2) by Bella Andre in one day. It was really good. Very naughty and sexy. Starting Last Dragon Standing (Dragon Kin, #4) by G.A. Aiken . A little nervous because I have not read the best reviews on this one. The first three have been unbelieveable. I love this series so I hope it turns out well.

I think the book coming out in the spring is actually the third in the Alpha and Omega series and we have to wait an entire other year to get the seventh Mercy Thompson book. :( And last I heard, it was only going to be a seven book series, but maybe she's changed her mind and there will be more. *crosses fingers*

Last Dragon Standing wasn't bad. I gave it 4.75 stars...only bc I was comparing it to Gwenveal's story. Don't worry, Aiken's amazing storytelling will captivate you in no time. I just picked up The Dragon Who Loved Me (Dragon Kin, #5) by G.A. Aiken and will read it in a couple days. Should I wait for you?

message 16380: by Sheree (new)

Sheree I have only been to New Zealand & what I saw was so beautiful & everything is green.
Australia is very brown so when I stepped off the plane everything looked dead. It is a very beautiful country Australia. Western Australia is best known for it's beautiful beaches, our wineries & our very layed back nature. It has been said that W.A. has the prettiest girls which is true but I have been told by guy's that most pretty girl's here think too highly of themselves lol
I am not one but I work with lots of gorgeous girls & envy them so much but Australian guy's in Perth (my capital city) are all about having fun & nothing else lol I guess that's why I am single, the whole one nighter thing is not my scene. That & I stay home & read heaps lol. I dream of getting to America, maybe one day

message 16381: by Boo Boo Kitty (new)

Boo Boo Kitty MN is also known for its beautiful women. My co-workers agree! MN is very picturesque with change of seasons. I loved it but often dream of hot, sunny weather when its 30 below in Jan. Thank godness for gr this winter.

I'm glad, you will love it, I swear. I am on all these fan pages of Richelle Mead & Rachel Caine's books, every time a new book comes out I avoid the status updates & links to first chapters in the books like the plague. I want to read them for myself with no knowledge of what might happen. Even now I don't read the blurb on the back of my books, I read them when I have finished the book. I think I must sound weird lol but before I could watch The Notebook a fellow student had told me the gyst of it. I still love the movie but I hated that I already knew the means of the movie so now I try to let my friend's know only what is needed to get them to read the books, I don't want to spoil it for them. Let me know what you think :)

message 16383: by Boo Boo Kitty (new)

Boo Boo Kitty I will. I am 1of those people that want to know but don't want to know at the same time. I have a love/hate relationship with cliff hangers and suspense.

message 16384: by Sheree (new)

Sheree lol I was recently talking to a friend who I put on to VA & Succubus (she has now sworn to trust my recommendations 100%) & I had to laugh as she wont read the blurb either until finishing & she can't handle it when a book is damaged just like me. The funniest thing though is that both our Grandma's read the last page of a book first. I don't understand the logic in that but it's what they do, I know I wont ever do it

message 16385: by Boo Boo Kitty (last edited Oct 17, 2011 11:43PM) (new)

Boo Boo Kitty Me niether. I have yet to skip to the end of a book. I loved the vampire academy books. But I almost stopped reading it because of what happened to Dmitiri. But I did. I just had to know how it ended!

message 16386: by Boo Boo Kitty (new)

Boo Boo Kitty I have gotten into the habit of having a tablet with me to write down all the titles I see mentioned on gr! My tbr list doesnt stand a chance.

message 16387: by Sheree (new)

Sheree haha mine either. P.A. last night (Perth Western Australia time) listed the order in which the night huntress series goes in, so I have written it down & it is safely stashed away in my bag for when I go into the book store tomorrow but I'm confused as to why the author would write a spin off series to go in between the books & they are needed to keep you clued in to the other series. Now I have my list I can safely read them in the right order

Pansy | 740 comments Hey guys, I was just on Larissa Ione's website and she finally has a short story of Kar and Luc. If you have read the Demonica series, Larissa will post these great little stories for her fans of past characters. They are like character updates. Wraith and Serena, Tayla and Eidolon now Luc and Kar (the werewolves). Shade and Runa will be soon. They are great.

Pansy - thanks for the update. I'll definitely check that out.

Sheree - we have snow in Massachusetts too and lots of fun history of our young country. Personally I love the snow for about the first 2 storms and then I am done. I am definitely a sun/beach loving woman.

As to the spin off Night Huntress books - there are supporting characters in the stories and Ms Frost takes the time to tell us more about them in the spin off books but they continue to be an intregal part of the series so if you don't read the spin offs in the right order when you read about them in the main Night Huntress books you will be scratching your head and wondering if you missed something.

yeah, that's why I wrote them down & in the right order, I don't want to screw it up & I'm loving this series. When I mentioned to you 20+ girls at my book store about now finding Miss Frost they both lit up about the other books. it was her who wrote the Fever & Highlander series or am I wrong? & I told one it was suggested on here to read highlander first she got happy & said she'd be reading them first. I think for now on those girls will make sure I don't like a book just for it's cover. I think I converted them to goodreads too :)

I was the same, the first book really hard to keep me interested, I have the second and I have tried several times but I still keep putting it back down, I love the BDB but there is something about this series that just does not do it for me.

P.A. Lupton (palupton) | 909 comments BJS, I can't figure it out. All I know is usually I'm right into a book, my husband will get mad sometomes because I can ignore anything around me. With that series, I can't keep my mind on the book. I know when I start thinking about what I'm going to make for dinner while reading that the book hasn't captured me. Like I said, I've tried twice and couldn't do it.
Still, I think I owe it to J.R Ward to try again. She's brought me so many hours of joy with BDB, I'm gonna try it one more time.

YES!! Make sure you make time to see everything, it's very pretty here but the heat & flies can drive you insane & being from a cold climate the heat might knock you around a bit. With what everyone say's Western Australia is just as good to see as Sydney & Melbourne. Western Australia is very laid back lol kind of like a large country town & we're supposed to be the friendliest state which I think is true.
