I have IAD & Psy-Changeling on my TBR for so long. They'll be my anchor series like DH and In Death due to their massive reads. Can't wait though.

message 14814: by Alisa (new)

Alisa (alisakayco) | 110 comments Yeah, let's not get started on the "TBR" list LOL. Mine just keeps going and going... and going. I try to catch up, but then I get recommendations, new releases come out and I find other books that seem interesting... *shakes my head*

I just finished In Bed with a Highlander (Highlander, #1) by Maya Banks & I haven't picked out my next book yet. I have both One Grave at a Time (Night Huntress, #6) by Jeaniene Frost & Succubus Revealed (Georgina Kincaid #6) by Richelle Mead - both I have been DYING to read. Now that I have them available... for some reason, I'm not in the mood to read them. I'm crazy. So I don't know what's next. I'll figure it out tonight when I crawl into bed I suppose.

ACRO has more than one couple featured per book which I like and some of the couples have HEAs that span across books. I have a soft spot for military men also which is another reason I like ACRO. I didn't love book #2 of ACRO - the whole going into heat thing is a little contrived for me. And I thought the first Sentinel book was weaker than the rest. But I liked the last one a lot with Logan. Overall, you can't go wrong with either book. ACRO definitely has much more intense sex in it. Psy-Changeling is great. I recommended it to my sister in law and she loved it too. Hawke is my favorite.

My library doesn't have ACRO, boohoo. Sentinel Wars is a great series but at times it felt like these guys have such impossible tasks, but I'm hooked bc of great characterizations and exciting plots.

I can related not jumping into your next great read like Succubus Revealed (Georgina Kincaid #6) by Richelle Mead . It's borderline savoring and denial the end of a much anticipated series. That happened to me with Lover Mine (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #8) by J.R. Ward . I couldn't wait to get it, then it took me almost 2.5 wks to open it.

Believe, once you have one of these books open, you'll devour it. Enjoy.

The Highlander series is set in the same world as the Fever series. But Highlander is romance and Fever is UF.I think the Highlander series is set before the Fever series. I'm only on Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning now, but some of the stuff that happened in the last Highlander books seem to be the reason for whats going on in the Fever series... maybe... I think its basically this devil/hell thing going on.

I've read quite a few Kresley Cole books too- great characters, and the world she has set up in her books is so dark and detailed!
Plus, the true blood series is awesome. Love you Eric xx

message 14825: by Susinok (new)

Susinok I read two JL Langley shifter books, Without Reservations and With Caution. They were more about the relationships than they were about shifting, but they were good.

Without Reservations (With or Without Series, #2) by J.L. Langley With Caution (With or Without Series, #3) by J.L. Langley

Now I'm back to reading Tempted by Elizabeth Naughton. I am having a hard time with it. I have forgotten most of the first two.

Tempted (Eternal Guardians, #3) by Elisabeth Naughton

message 14826: by Syahira (new)

Syahira I read the highlander series long before the fever series came up. Some of the things from the romance series actually related to a lot of events in the book which leads to Fever series. Particularly, the Dark Highlander, The Immortal Highlander, Spell of the Highlander and a short story Into the Dreaming.

Not being a spoiler much, but if you want to make sense a lot of things from the Fever series, you should read the highlander books. Most importantly, The Immortal Highlander held the key event that started the Fever series and Into the Dreaming finally make sense in the Shadowfever particularly on the story of the Unseelie King.

of course... its a bit more than smutty... but heck, the first several Fever books is making ME feeling as literal-sexually deprived as Mac... lol...

======================================

I'm currently reading a lot of books.. Game of Thrones, Mansfield Park and Clockwork Angel.. I kept bookmarking after several pages and start reading new books... lmao

I've finished The False Princess earlier this morning and starting The Theif The Thief (The Queen's Thief, #1) by Megan Whalen Turner now. I'm putting off a lot of PNR since last month Kresley Cole's marathon. lol...

I would give it around 3.5 stars, but on GR, it is rated as a 4 for me. I did have high hopes for it and it turned out great, especially in the beginning. I have not read any of her other books so I can't compare her writing between them. I felt the story was a bit anti-climatic though. It could've been so much better, but it fizzled out starting in the middle of the book and towards the end, I was thinking, "that was it?" I understand that it's a series so we've yet to see how it continues. Most of the time, the first book in a series is usually not the best so I still have high hopes that it'll pick up. I will continue with the series when the other books come out.

It's good, just not up to par with say, KMM's Highlander series or Karin Tabke's Blood Sword Legacy.
