haha - didn't even think of that since I read Midnight Breed back in January! But I did think it was kind of a lame name for a dragon regardless.

Rachel the Book Harlot | 114 comments Lauren wrote: " Burning Alive (Sentinel Wars, #1) by Shannon K. Butcher
Sorry you weren't able to get into it. I'm reading it as well and enjoying it so far. It may be because I haven't read any of the BDB books so I don't have anything to compare it to.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Maybe I'll try it again at a later time. Sometimes it takes me more than one try to get into a book.

Roarke is the bad-boy from Ireland, married the ultimate NY cop, Eve. They survived their horrific pasts, found & leaned on each other for everything they have.

Hmmm - I guess you don't really have to, but the characters in book 2 show up in book 3 also. You definitely have to read 2 before 4 because (view spoiler)

Lisa wrote: "Hey Terri you have great taste. My book husband is also Roarke (or Jamie from Outlander), but definitely my dirty weekend sort of guy is Barrons all the way. (Big smile)"

haha - dirty weekend! Love that!

No one mentioned their favorite shapeshifter?
This one's tough because I love the shifters - but Curran is my ultimate Lord of the Beasts! (sorry Hawke!)

Bones is my favorite vamp (sorry to my BDB men)
Aeron is my favorite demon (another tough one! and this might only last until Strider's book comes out!)
Raphael is my favorite archangel
Niko's my favorite zen ninja
Terrible's my favorite human (maybe when I read about Roarke that will change)
Wild Bill's my favorite "wish he was straight - maybe I can change his mind"
Jeff Martini's my favorite alien
Pritkin's my favorite mage!! (no contest here)

I still need a favorite zombie and fairy and then I think I'm good :)

Jericho will always be my main squeeze though and I would kick the rest out of bed just for him!

Well - that was fun!

message 14285: by Susinok (last edited Aug 16, 2011 07:11AM) (new)

Susinok I finished Burning Wild yesterday. It was an amazing read. I think I held my breath through the second half of the book. The sex had a darker edge to it than the other Feehan books. But there were reasons for that, too. Like I said, this one was amazing. 5 stars all the way.

Today I started Wild Fire. I'm on a Leopard shifer roll. Problem is once I read Savage Nature, I will have read Christine Feehan's entire catalog of books. Every last one of 'em. Sigh.

Burning Wild (Leopard People, #3) by Christine Feehan Wild Fire (Leopard People, #4) by Christine Feehan Savage Nature (Leopard People, #5) by Christine Feehan

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 461 comments Susin, I am still glomming Feehan, and I am actually rereading the GhostWalkers (via audiobook although I often reread passages in my paper books). I didn't discover her until 2 years ago, and since then, I've bought pretty much all her books and am working my way through them. Burning Wild was awesome!

Put Feehan on my TBR list just the other day. But I marked only Drake sisters, Dark series, and ghostwalkers. Any opinions on her best series? I am thinking ghostwalker has received the most press in my reading threads.

Lan-Dinh, I think it's a matter of personal taste. I love the GhostWalkers best because it's really interesting, with a sci-fi/paranormal slant, enhanced men and women, and a lot of conspiracy with a mad scientist.

This is how I would rank her series:

1. GhostWalkers
2. Carpathians
3. Leopards/Drake sisters

(I might be tempted to put Sisters of the Heart on the level of the Carpathians, but only one book so far).

I'm still working my way through the Carpathians, and I'm loving it.

Thanks. I will give both series a try when I'm done with Midnight Breed.

Kristyn wrote: "I'm starting Lord of the Vampires by Gena Showalter today"

I started this one yesterday too. It's pretty good so far.

Rachel wrote: "I'm glad you enjoyed it! Maybe I'll try it again at a later time. Sometimes it takes me more than one try to get into a book. "

Now that I've finished Burning Alive (Sentinel Wars, #1) by Shannon K. Butcher , I really appreciate the imaginative world building. I must say that the bit in the diner was slow but once you get past that the plots speeds up. It is similar to some other series but unique in its own way. Good luck with it.
