I think this Sookie short is one of my favorite stories from all of the Sookie verse books/stories. I could relate to it a bit and that helps a person really get sucked in. So far the only Sookie thing I haven't read is book 11, still waiting for it from the library.

Yeah I saw the movie when it first came out on DVD, I loved the movie, I loved the book, I think there should've been a little more added from the book to the movie but still I loved them both....

message 13970: by Susinok (new)

Susinok Finished Sherrilyn Kenyon's One Silent Night. It was fascinating to get more insight into Strykerius and the backgrounds of the other characters. This series just keeps getting better for me.

message 13976: by Bemidji (new)

Bemidji (ehleighen) | 39 comments I liked Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate and Torment (Fallen, #2) by Lauren Kate , so I was excited to start Passion (Fallen, #3) by Lauren Kate . I just couldn't get into it. I rarely ever give up on a book, but I quit reading maybe halfway through. It was just so slow and seemed so stupid. Maybe I need to re-read the first two books, but I seem to remember it being mysterious. What was with the boy that died when she kissed him in the first book that caused her to go to the academy? and then in the 2nd book, there was some weird cloud thing in the library, and didn't a fire start, or a boy being endangered in the library? (I can't remember) I just feel like they never even explained what that was all about, they just switched and started talking about these Announcer things. I can't believe there is a 4th book coming out.

I also started Forever (Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater last night. a tad bit slow, but I'm axious to find out what happens since I couldn't put the 2nd book down. I hope it ends happy for me.

I have really struggled with the Hollow series in general...I only started reading it because my sister and BIL got me the first 3 books for Christmas...but they've been kind of meh for me...I keep waiting for them to get better since so many ppl love them but they haven't....there is only been one so far that I really liked (out of the 4 I've read)...and right now I can't even remember which one it was...I just remember it was Kisten heavy...I think it was the 3rd one Every Which Way But Dead (The Hollows, #3) by Kim Harrison

Sillylittlefishey | 1025 comments Ok I finished Spectyr (Book of the Order, #2) by Philippa Ballantine ...I really struggled reading it but I think it's because I was so lost from not reading the first in the series.

Now I just bought the ebook for Hunting Human by Amanda E. Alvarez because I was supposed to review this for the author and publisher months ago and the ebook they sent me expired...I feel horrible that I let it slip through the cracks!!

After I read Passion (Fallen, #3) by Lauren Kate I put as my comment that while Torment (Fallen, #2) by Lauren Kate lived up to its name, Passion (Fallen, #3) by Lauren Kate did not. I barely tolerated Torment but Passion was just lame.

I enjoyed Forever (Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater because I really like her writing style and doesnt feel so childish as some of the YA stuff out there.

L-D (lannie95) | 284 comments Just started and am pretty into a PNR series called PsyCop. Victor Bayne is a PsyCop who sees ghosts. PsyCops are partnered with "stiffs" or cops that are not easily affected by psychic abilities. Other Psychic powers in the story include the ability to tell if someone is lying, the ability to know the answers to yes/no questions, empathic powers etc. The series has a great premise and the cases are interesting. I finished the second book and two free shorts that I found online. As an aside, Victor is gay and there are explicit M/M scenes in this series.

Among the Living (PsyCop, #1) by Jordan Castillo Price Criss Cross (PsyCop, #2) by Jordan Castillo Price

Anyhow, so far I love the book. It touches my heart. The heroine is pursued by her true love, a man she has been programmed to forget. He pursues her through space, hiding out on her ship which is a sentient being. You really should check out this book.

I haven't read it yet because every time I see the cover I think of
The Secret Life of Bees and that book was kind of boring. I know that judging a book by it's cover is evil and wrong but I just can't help it. Now that so many people are saying how good it is, and the fact that a movie is coming out, I may have to give in and read it =)
