Hard to dispute that statement when Nathaniel is wearing aprons, satin boy shorts, and picking out china. Not to mention he is continuously referred to as Anita's "wife". No thank you - I'll pass. With all those Alpha males out there, I'm not looking for someone who can bake a pie.
Finished book 3 of Cal Leandros last night and started book 4 this morning. FINALLY - Cal is starting to be less whiny and lazy. And this book has some first person POV from Nik which is awesome.

I read a little more of the Strain yesterday. Reading a "real" book after reading my Nook all year is slow. Turning real pages is HARD! :)

Now I'm going to be reading [bookcover:Visions of Heat|8456..."
yeah it's like ummm seriously i've always thought of him as the brother, sonish type not a lover. I was kinda hoping him and that cop would've hooked up.

YES! Give me some Jean Claude, some Asher, some Richard even, hell give me even Jason all of them are dominants...Micah, Nathaniel, Damien, etc. they are too submissive, she needs those dominant types, not the "agreeable" men

Loved Silver Borne - Wish I never read River Marked - BLECH.

I also love her Alpha & Omega series. It's very sweet.

I have it in my TBR pile."
I don't know if bad is the right word for it... different, uneventfull, slow. It had action, but nothing like the past books. It was too far from the rest of the series for me to enjoy it. Almost like Briggs is trying to switch where the story is going. For me it was too big of a change of pace. Mercy was different in this book, not the same Mercy I have come to enjoy!

that is a great way to describe it. It just was a totally different pace. Very sluggish to me.
Lauren - I really enjoyed Anya Bast's fae series. Did you read the novella in the Hot for the Holidays anthology? That is about how Bella and Ronan got together. I haven't read any of her Elemental Witches series but it's on my TBR list. Have you read those?

I think that's what it was meant to be really

I haven't read the Elemental Witches but I love the Dark Magick series so much that I will definitely be giving it a go once I'm done with Dark Enchantment.
Book #4, Midnight Enchantment, only comes out in February 2012. That's a long time to wait *sigh*.

Every one was telling me this is a must read, but so far is not wooing me, but I will keep going to the end

And forewarning - Blood Noir, a book about Jason, is also very short (though the same price as a full novel of course)

of course

That was the only book that I ever loved in that series. I actually cried at the end, which is weird, because I hardly ever cry when reading. Anyway, I bought the whole series and barely finished the second one so they are languishing in my bookshelf.

I just finished the first book and it just blew me away! Amazing read. Going to read the next one soon ^^

So what put you off reading the rest??

I've got these two sitting on my TBR book shelf. I'm just waiting for a spare moment to get to them.

I am going to start to read

Reading this particular book is more about the series. It sets up the rest and gets some introductions out of the way. It took me several months to get a copy of the second in the series. Now, I own all of them except Hit List because I haven't wanted to spend the money. I'll probably borrow it from the library and then buy it when it comes out in paperback.

I felt the same way after reading Twilight series. I needed more adult storylines. I have never turned back. You will enjoy Moning's Highlander series. The first book was not my favorite but each one gets better and better. Try the Fever series next. It falls right into place after Highlander series.

What's the Dante Valentine series about??? Is it YA. (I only follow a few YA (Mortal Instruments,Vampire Academy)

Not YA at all. Its UF...dark gritty and really good. The worldbuilding takes a little getting used to and Dante frequently makes you want to hurt her. Japhrimel is one of my favorite characters ever. He is Lucifers first son and assassin. He hauls Dante to hell for a meeting with Lucifer...ends up as her familiar\bodyguard. I won't say more because their relationship buildup is kinda great. Just don't look for warm and fuzzies from the series. I had to read happy books between each one...its gritty and raw and painful at times.
