Hard to dispute that statement when Nathaniel is wearing aprons, satin boy shorts, and picking out china. Not to mention he is continuously referred to as Anita's "wife". No thank you - I'll pass. With all those Alpha males out there, I'm not looking for someone who can bake a pie.

Finished book 3 of Cal Leandros last night and started book 4 this morning. FINALLY - Cal is starting to be less whiny and lazy. And this book has some first person POV from Nik which is awesome.
Deathwish (Cal Leandros, #4) by Rob Thurman

I read a little more of the Strain yesterday. Reading a "real" book after reading my Nook all year is slow. Turning real pages is HARD! :)

YES! Give me some Jean Claude, some Asher, some Richard even, hell give me even Jason all of them are dominants...Micah, Nathaniel, Damien, etc. they are too submissive, she needs those dominant types, not the "agreeable" men

Steph Ann | 85 comments Magda, I'm loving Silver Borne! I've loved all the other books in the series too, but for some reason, this one seems to be moving at a much quicker pace for me. I was wishing my lunch hour today was just a little longer because I'm so close to having it done and I didn't want to put it down!

L-D (lannie95) | 284 comments Ohhhhhh....ummmm....it was probably TOTALLY just me. But I LOVED the whole series with Silver Borne being my favorite. So I was super excited about River Marked. Because hey [spoiler for those who haven't read up to Silver Borne](view spoiler). But for some reason, I could not get into the plot at all. And I found myself skimming through it. Ugh - skimming. I never do that except in desperation. Don't get me wrong - I still love Mercy and Adam and I'll buy Ms. Briggs' next book just because. But you should definitely still read it because it does have a lot of Adam and Mercy in it.

I also love her Alpha & Omega series. It's very sweet.

I don't know if bad is the right word for it... different, uneventfull, slow. It had action, but nothing like the past books. It was too far from the rest of the series for me to enjoy it. Almost like Briggs is trying to switch where the story is going. For me it was too big of a change of pace. Mercy was different in this book, not the same Mercy I have come to enjoy!

that is a great way to describe it. It just was a totally different pace. Very sluggish to me.

Lauren - I really enjoyed Anya Bast's fae series. Did you read the novella in the Hot for the Holidays anthology? That is about how Bella and Ronan got together. I haven't read any of her Elemental Witches series but it's on my TBR list. Have you read those?

I haven't read the Elemental Witches but I love the Dark Magick series so much that I will definitely be giving it a go once I'm done with Dark Enchantment.
Book #4, Midnight Enchantment, only comes out in February 2012. That's a long time to wait *sigh*.

That was the only book that I ever loved in that series. I actually cried at the end, which is weird, because I hardly ever cry when reading. Anyway, I bought the whole series and barely finished the second one so they are languishing in my bookshelf.

La La | 245 comments It's been a while since I posted to this thread and so far I've finshed the 1st 4 of the Gardella Vampire Series. An erotic novel called What They Call Sin by Philippa Grey-Gerou , not for everyone since it dealt with adultry. I read Darkest Fire by Tawny Taylor , started out good, but became kind of silly in the end. Now I'm reading Midnight's Wild Passion by Anna Campbell . I need to take a small break from the paranormal.

Nice to see that the character are going to keep coming. I just hope the characters from Midnight Bay make apperances in these next books. So Spellbound Falls by Janet Chapman has now been addded to my TBR pile that I have to wait until Feb. 2012 for it
I am going to start to read Raziel (The Fallen, #1) by Kristina Douglas today.

Reading this particular book is more about the series. It sets up the rest and gets some introductions out of the way. It took me several months to get a copy of the second in the series. Now, I own all of them except Hit List because I haven't wanted to spend the money. I'll probably borrow it from the library and then buy it when it comes out in paperback.

Beth | 18 comments I am in desperate need of some adult paranormal fiction after giving up reading Siren (Siren Trilogy, #1) by Tricia Rayburn ...I can't take any more mellow dramatic YA paranormal fiction plot lines...at least not until the fall when a ton of sequels to some of my favorite series hits the shelves like Silence (Hush, Hush, #3) by Becca Fitzpatrick and Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices #2) by Cassandra Clare ...so in the meantime I've started Karen Mae Moning's Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1) by Karen Marie Moning .

I felt the same way after reading Twilight series. I needed more adult storylines. I have never turned back. You will enjoy Moning's Highlander series. The first book was not my favorite but each one gets better and better. Try the Fever series next. It falls right into place after Highlander series.

Not YA at all. Its UF...dark gritty and really good. The worldbuilding takes a little getting used to and Dante frequently makes you want to hurt her. Japhrimel is one of my favorite characters ever. He is Lucifers first son and assassin. He hauls Dante to hell for a meeting with Lucifer...ends up as her familiar\bodyguard. I won't say more because their relationship buildup is kinda great. Just don't look for warm and fuzzies from the series. I had to read happy books between each one...its gritty and raw and painful at times.
