I was one of those who caught on and loved it due to the unique vampire origin, but you're right, it gets better and better. Glad you're having a great time reading them.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Finished Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison and loved it. I was savoring every word. It's fast, sexy, sweet and the plot doesn't make you wait due to misunderstand, shyness, timing or doubt. I loved it!

Next and finally, Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, #1) by Richelle Mead ...but I'm kinda stalling bc I'm still enjoying the Dragon Bound afterglow, sigh... I know it's an awesome series, I'll get to it soon.

fantasic! This series is great. I don't know if I can say better then the BDBs but damn close!! I've been itching for something that comes close to the BDBs for a while... really happy I have this series! :) Now if only I can find something that comes close to the night huntress series... Cat and Bones are a hard couple to beat.

I am such a fan of the Midnight Breed series. I am glad you are enjoying them. It does get better. Most series are like that. Kane's book is really good. I think Rio is my favorite though, at least until Chase's book comes out.

A lot of goodreads members have been suggesting this series. Is it really that good, coz I think I wanna read it at the same time Im a bit overwhelmed of my to-read list...

message 13769: by Duchess Nicole (new)

Duchess Nicole | 138 comments Yeah, it's really good. It's got sooo many different mythical creatures, which helps to keep me interested. And I love how she has a lot of returning characters (Nix!). SPICY romance, lots of action, and I've literally LOL'd quite a few times. I also like how her heroines don't all start off as kick-A**. Each character is unique.

Sylvie Just finished reading Darkness Dawns (Immortal Guardians, #1) by Dianne Duvall and totally loved it. I had assumed that there were already a few books in the series and was looking forward to reading them all. Unfortunately, though it is the start of the series, it's fairly new and the next one won't be out till - gulp - January!

message 13773: by L-D (new)

L-D (lannie95) | 284 comments Lots of great books listed here! Kate Daniels series is one of my favorites and I LOVE Curran "Here kitty, kitty, kitty!" It does take a few books for him to really get under your skin but once he's there, no scratching is going to get him out! Do I love him more than Jericho? It's a tight race! But since I read about Curran most recently, I guess it's a matter of "what have you done for me lately" that lets Curran edge out Jericho in my book :)

I also love the midnight breed series. I haven't heard of the elder races - thanks for the recommendation.

I just finished the Deadtown series books 1 and 2
Deadtown (Deadtown, #1) by Nancy Holzner Hellforged (Deadtown, #2) by Nancy Holzner

I started Cat and Bones this morning beginning with the novella in the Unbound Anthology:

Kate Daniels. Yum! lol. It is similar to the Fever series in that things don't steam up till later, and he is not a huge character in the first 2 books. The first book is a lot of world building but a good detailed read. Book #3 was amazing! From what you ladies are saying, I can't wait to finally get a chance to read Magic Slays(#5) tonight!

Currently working on Magic Slays (Kate Daniels, #5) by Ilona Andrews Midnight Rising (Midnight Breed, #4) by Lara Adrian Kissing Sin (Riley Jenson Guardian, #2) by Keri Arthur . Haven't gotten much time to read lately

I agree Crazy4more, it was action packed and as soon as something got resolved, something else was popping up. I was never board and didn't find myself rushing through the boring parts because there weren't any. I really enjoyed the dialog and the way the characters interacted with one another. It made me laugh at times but still was a tender, romantic story.

If you don't want to stop reading about Kate Daniels, have you read the short stories that Ilona Andrews has in various anthologies? In Must Love Hellhounds Anth she has a short story about how Andrea and Raphael get together. In the Hexed anthology there is a short story about Dali and Jim. There's also a short in Dark and Stormy Knights about how Kate met Saimen but it's not as good as the other two.

message 13796: by Allison (new)

Allison (gatormommy) | 80 comments Yeah she has a very different writing style. I thought for YA the first 2 were really good and had a lot of emotion to it. The last book just fell flat, could have a lot more to it I guess. But I liked the characters in it. It is very a different wolf though!

I have to agree. Nathaniel is my least favorite. Anita seems more manly than him.

Steph Ann | 85 comments I'm currently reading Silver Borne (Mercedes Thompson, #5) by Patricia Briggs . Next up will be either The Darkest Passion (Lords of the Underworld, #5) by Gena Showalter , The Immortal Highlander (Highlander, #6) by Karen Marie Moning , or Born of Ice (The League, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon . I haven't decided yet which of the three I want to read first. I'll probably finish Silver Borne today, so I better make up my mind quick!
